Tara:Hey, Erin. Are you free this Saturday?

Erin:Well, on Saturday morning I have to clean my room. I'm free on Saturday afternoon.

Tara:Do you want to go skating(溜冰) this Saturday afternoon? Everyone says it's really cool.

Erin: Sure! And then let's go to the new shopping center. We can eat and watch a movie there.

Tara:Sorry,I can't. I have to be home before 8:00 p. m.

Erin:But tomorrow's Saturday! Do you have to be home before 8:00 p. m. on weekends too?

Tara:Oh, I forgot. I can stay out until 10:00 p. m. on Saturdays, but still 8:00 p. m.on Sundays.

Erin: Really? I don't have to be back until 11:00 p. m. on weekends.

Tara:You're lucky. This Sunday evening I'll go to my classmate Sandra's birthday party. I want to stay there until 9:00 p. m., but my parents say I must follow the family rules.

Erin: Wow, they are too strict with you.

We use the Internet a lot every day. We have lessons or watch videos online. We talk to friends through WeChat (微信). But those are not all. 

In the future, we are going to connect (连接) everything around us to the Internet. We might connect the fridge (冰箱), the car, the house and even the whole city to the Internet. It is a big idea called the "Internet of Things" (IoT). With it, we can "talk" to our car and our house through the Internet. The car and the house can also "talk" to each other. How does this happen? 

Your house knows when you are at home and when you are not. So in summer, it makes rooms cooler when you are in. And after you leave, it stops cooling down the rooms. 

Your fridge can "remember" things, such as what you put in and take out of it. So it can send you emails with dinner ideas. Or it will buy things online for you when the food runs out!

You drive your car home. The car tells your house that you are five kilometers away. So the house turns on the lights and warms up before you go back. 

You may fall asleep on the sofa when watching TV. Don't worry. Your smart watch can feel this. It can turn off the TV and lights for you. 

With the idea of "IoT", life will become better and we can save time. Do you like it?

Peppa is a little pig. Many people know her name because they can see her on TV. Peppa has a big family. Her three family photos are on her desk. In the first photo, you can see Peppa's father, mother and little brother George. What about the next photo? Peppa's grandparents are in it. Who are in the last photo? Her uncle's family. Uncle Pig, Aunt Pig, their daughter Choel and their son Alexander.

Many people enjoy watching movies in a cinema. They think the cinema has a better atmosphere（气氛）to enjoy the movie. However, I think people are happier and freer when watching movies at home. 

Watching movies at home is more comfortable. To watch movies in a cinema, you have to buy a ticket before you go there for a better seat. However, there is no need for people at home to worry about the ticket. They can enjoy movies at any time they like and with the most comfortable seat. What's more, people watching movies at home wouldn't have to face any traffic problems. 

It is free to watch movies at home. In the cinema, we can't go outside and do something else because the movie won't wait for us. Sometimes we miss part of the movie. At home, we can pause（暂停）at any time and go back to watch the part. 

All in all, a cinema is a good place to watch movies, but it isn't the best place to enjoy the movies. I think watching movies at home is better. 

Public squares are for everyone and they may be small or large, but there are many squares all over the world that have become famous landmarks (地标). 

Piazza Navona, Rome, Italy

Romes Piazza Navona is a center for locals and tourists to come together. It's especially famous for its three beautiful fountains (喷泉). With places to enjoysome ice cream, and many street artists, it is one of the most popular places in the city. Piazza Navona is about 29, 150 square meters and people built it in 86 AD(公元). 

Red Square, Moscow, Russia

Red Square dates from the 15th century. Itc overs 800, 000 square feet(a square foot is about 0. 0929 square meters). Red Square has been a place for kinds of activities, such as speeches, music concerts so on. 

Tian'anmen Square, Beijing, China

Tian'anmen Square is a public square in the center of the city of Beijing, China. At about 440, 000 square meters. it is the largest public square in the world. Ancient Chinese people built it in 1417. To the north of the square is the Gate of Heavenly Peace. 

Students learn their lessons in class. They sit in the classroom and listen to their teachers. This is a common（常见的） way of learning. 

Is this the only way for students to learn something? Of course not. There is another way to learn—you can teach yourself. For example, if you cannot remember what you learn at school when you are doing your homework, what can you do? You can look at your books. This is a way to teach yourself, and it is not a difficult thing. You can do this at any place and at any time. 

How do you teach yourself? First，you must read. Read something you want to read, or you have to read. Second, you must ask yourself questions. The questions are something you don't understand or you want to know about. You can write down these questions. A clever student is also good at asking questions. Third, you must answer the questions yourself by thinking hard, by reading books and sometimes by asking other people. These are the ways of teaching yourself. If you work like this for a long time, you are sure to be more successful（成功的） in your study.
