Do you go to school every day by bike or in your parents' car? The American English teacher Margaret tells her story about taking a school bus in America.

    When I'm a primary school student, I love taking the school bus. It is interesting to talk to my friends and play games on the bus. It is like children-only party every morning and afternoon. On the school bus there is only one adult（成年人）—the driver. Most of the time, we are well-behaved because we like the driver and don't want to make him unhappy. But one day, one of the boys makes a face at a policeman driving behind our bus. The policeman makes our bus driver stop. Then he scolds（训斥）the naughty boy loudly. We all behave well after that!

    It isn't comfortable for young people to wait for the school bus in winter（冬天） because it is very cold, especially when there are strong winds（风）. Some students in cities have bus shelters（遮挡）, but country children have to jump（跳）up and down to warm up. Hurry up, spring!

As the New Year of 2024 comes, some people love the tradition of making resolutions. So, how can you keep the New Year flag standing? Come to our school hall at 3:00 this Friday afternoon and listen to a talk by Ms. Ann Smith!

If your New Year's plan is to exercise five days each week, a plan like "I'll exercise on weekdays" would be not clear enough. A plan like "I'll exercise at school on weekdays during my lunch break"would be better.

Tell a few friends about your resolutions. Then if you want to give up at some point, they will be the ones to make you hold on.

★Make it fun.

Are you nervous when you stand in front of the public? Are you 1 to make a speech(演说;讲演)? Li Jun, a middle school student, felt shy 2 he was making a speech the other day. Li had thought it would be quite easy to speak in front of3 classmates.

I still remember my first day at school. My sister, Sandy, studied there too. Dad and I waited for her at the school gate after school. Every day, she ran out of the school ha ppily with her 1 . I wanted to paint too. 

I was five years old when I 2 school. Most children started school in September, but I started school in January because I was born in December. Three other children started school on the same day as me. I was really 3 about my first day. I had my new uniform* ready: a black skirt, a white T-shirt and a new red bag! When we got to school that day, a teachermet 4 at the school gate.

Finally, I got to school. The teacher introduced me to the {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(整个；全部) class Then he asked me to sit beside a girl. I felt so nervous that I didn't look at her. Soon the bell {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (响铃) for the firs class. Their textbooks were different from those at my old school. While I was {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(考虑;斟酌) asking the teacher for help, an English book appeared in front of me. "Let's share. " To my surprise, it was the girl I helped that morning. Later on, we became good friends. 

From that I learnt: To help others is actually to help {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(我们自己). Life teaches us not only {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (知识) but also experience. I hope I will always help others in my life. 

Brenda was a girl with one big dream. She wanted to play the 1 in a band. But there was one problem. To be good enough to play in a band, Brenda had to 2 a lot. But she lived next to a lot of old people. The sound of beating drums would make them feel 3 .

 Soon, Brenda became 12 . So many people came to see her play in her space bubble. Shortly after, she started to give concerts. 13 , Brenda was a real musical astronaut, and went far beyond her first dream of playing the drum in a band.
