In the past, about 14% of the earth was covered  rain forests, but today the number (be) about 6%. Why? Because people are (cut) down large areas of trees. If we (not protect) the rain forests now, we will never see them again.

Rain forests are in the tropical regions (热带 ) of the Earth. The trees are (usual) very tall. Plenty of rainfall helps them grow and live. These rain forests are important half of the world's animal species (物种), such as monkeys, elephants and tigers, live in rain forests.

The trees give a home and food to many (live) things. After the trees are cut down, many of these animals have nowhere to live. Each day, we are losing (hundred) of species of animals and plants because their homes are disappearing. Rain forests are  important part of the Earth, so every one of us should try to protect(they).

While both groups experienced improved mental health, the group who gardened had a little more advantages, reporting less stress and sadness. The research team hopes {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(learn) more about how gardening and mental health are connected. "At the end of the study, many of {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(they) were saying not just how much they enjoyed the activities but also how they planned to keep gardening," said Charles Guy, one of the study's {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (science). This study has also inspired them to take part in the activity of gardening.
