Accidents often happen around us. So a first-aid kit (一套急救用品) is necessary. A first-aid kit is one of the most important things in every family. Making your own first-aid kit will help keep you and your family safe. You need to do the following things. 

·Find a box 

To find a box is the first thing. The box is large and strong enough to hold all the medical supplies (医用物品). You will put all the supplies inside. 

·Prepare the supplies 

After finding the box, it's time to prepare all the medical supplies. Having a first-aid kit will be useful during serious injuries and if you should take quick actions in time, it will be useful as well. So it is best to fill your kit with necessary things. 

·Write important information 

Once you have all the medical supplies, print first aid rules on how to stop bleeding (出血), how to call for help, and so on. You can also write down other helpful phone numbers besides 120 on your note. 

·Pack (打包) your kit 

Pack everything inside the box. Everything must be easy to find and reach at the same time. 

Helping others is a great thing to do. You can learn new things and have fun. There are many ways of helping others. You can help people, animals or the environment. It can make you feel good too! How can you help?

Charities (慈善机构)

Charities are organizations that help others, for example, UNICEF or the World Wildlife Fund. You can help charities by giving your time, giving money or giving things that you own. You can also help people or places you know.

Volunteering

Volunteering is when you give your time to help others. It's something which you do not have to do or for which you will not be paid. Some ways of volunteering are: visiting old people to talk to them or help them walking dogs at an animal shelter (避难所), cleaning up a park.

Fundraising

Fundraising is when you collect money to help others. Some ways of fundraising are: making cakes or biscuits to sell, doing a sponsored (赞助) activity. For example, family and friends give you money if you finish a long walk.

Donating

Donating is when you give your things or money to help others. Some ways of donating are: giving your old toys or clothes to a charity that helps sick children or poor people, giving your old books to a library, giving your money to a charity. So, what can you do to help others?

 Like many inventions, language translators(翻译器) were imagined by writers long before they became real. In Hugo Gernsback's 1911 novel A Romance of the Year 2660, characters use a video telephone that can translate from one language to another. A language translator also appears in Murray Leinster's1945 science fiction. In that story, humans and lives from another plane made a translation machine together after making first contact with one another.

 In 1954, the first real language translator was invented by engineers from the IBM company and Georgetown University, which could translate Russian sentences into English. However, the idea of the language translator didn't become truly popular until a special translator appeared in the TV show in the 1970. The translator was powerful, because it could translate any language that it met.

 Today, language translators are so pervasive that it's hard to imagine a time without it, especially for many young working or studying in other countries. Most of them can be reached easily online at no cost to users. With translation apps like Google Translate or iTranslate, users sometimes don't even have to look things up. All they need to do is pointing their phone's camera at some writing, and a translation appears at once. If users want to translate something being said aloud, they just turn on their phone's microphone. All of these save our time and effort.

 Translation apps make foreign travel much easier than before. They are important when it comes to communicating with taxi drivers or hotel managers who don't speak a traveler's native language. But these apps are far from perfect. Sometimes a translation makes mistakes, making the user guess what the translation means. At other times, the user might not know that the translation has failed until he or she shows it to a native speaker.
