Hello, everyone! I am a reporter from the local newspaper in my town. I've loved radio ever since I first stepped into a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(录制室;录音室) at 12. When I was in college, I got a {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(兼职的) job at a local radio station. I wrote {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(文章;报道) and sometimes I also carried out interviews. One day, when I arrived at the radio station, I found Shirley, our {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (主管), was waiting for me. She told me that David was ill and she wanted me to be a presenter that day.

"I'm afraid I might make a {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(凌乱) of the job,"I said.

"Don't worry, Jane. I know you can make it,"Shirley said.

"OK. I'll give it a try,"I could {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(几乎不) believe I said"OK".

"Remember, when the red light is on, it means we're on air. And you must {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(避免) making any noise."

I start my first day of school at junior high today! I can't believe this day has finally arrived.

What I am thinking about m{#blank#}1{#/blank#}me nervous（紧张的）. After all, I was one of the leaders at my old school. The younger students all looked u{#blank#}2{#/blank#}to us sixth graders. Now, I am going to be a new kid all over again and I am going to have to make new friends.

I am not alone. All of us going into the junior high are in the same b{#blank#}3{#/blank#}. In fact, I am not w{#blank#}4{#/blank#} about being a new junior high school student. I am excited about it! I am excited about all the different s{#blank#}5{#/blank#}I get to study.

I am so excited now! Mum, Dud, Grandma, and Grandpa are all excited for me as well. I think I am going to enjoy m{#blank#}10{#/blank#}at the junior high school after all. I am looking forward to a great year and an exciting new world!

The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. we Chinese have {#blank#}1{#/blank#} for over 2,000 years. It's {#blank#}2{#/blank#} of the three most important lunar festivals in China. The Dragon Boat Festival takes {#blank#}3{#/blank#} on the 22^th of June this year.

Throughout the years, many stories have been told about the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} of this festival. Among them, the most famous one is about Qu Yuan, a well- known scholar in ancient China. He not only wrote good {#blank#}5{#/blank#} but also gave suggestions to the king. {#blank#}6{#/blank#} he devoted(贡献) himself to his {#blank#}7{#/blank#} , the king didn't like him. This great person drowned(溺水) himself in the Miluo River on the 5th day of the 5th Chinese lunar month because his Chu State fell to Qin State. Local people tried to save him or find {#blank#}8{#/blank#} body, but they didn't succeed. Qu Yuan was later considered as a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} hero. To remember him, every fifth day of the fifth lunar month, people beat drums and go boat racing on the river as they once did to keep fish away from his body.

Dragon boat racing is one of the most important customs Chinese people practice to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. This activity is held {#blank#}10{#/blank#} in China's southern and southeastern areas where there are lots of rivers and lakes.

Wonderful Park has finally reopened after nearly three months of repair! Since my sister Julia's birthday is coming. yesterday my parents took us to the park to have some fun. Julia was very excited as she had never been to Wonderful Park before.

We arrived at the park early in the morning. While we were buying tickets at the ticket office, Julia was told that she could enjoy free admission during her birthday month. She could also get some pin s and stickers for free. Julia was over the moon with her birthday presents. After buying our tickets, Julia wanted to ride the Ferris wheel. However, Mum suggested going to the King's Theatre first as a musical was about to begin.

We were attracted by the delicious smell of popcorn while we were on the way to the King's Theatre. We bought two bags of chocolate popcorn and it tasted good. Before we entered the theatre, there were two cartoon characters standing at the entrance. They were lovable so Julia and I took some photos with them. The show began at ten forty- five. Though I am not a big fan of musicals, it was really great. All the performers sang and danced well. There was a huge round of applause(掌声) when the show ended. Then, we went to the ride. It was the last stop and also the most enjoyable part of our trip.

Here are the photos we took. The first one shows the chocolate popcorn. It was yummy! Next are the photos we took at the entrance of the King's Theatre. The cartoon characters are giving me and Julia a big hug! Here comes the photo that I like best. We took this after we ro de on the Ferris wheel. Dad is putting his arm around Mum's shoulders. Julia is making a V sign with her fingers and I am making a silly face. It is a nice family photo. We all look forward to visiting the park again!

Monarch butterflies(帝王蝶) are flying through Missouri(密苏里州) on their way to Mexico. Many American people love to see these bright- colored black- and- orange butterflies, but they need our help to stay safe and healthy.

Every year, monarch butterflies travel south to Mexico in the fall and fly back next spring. As the monarchs go south, people in Missouri might start seeing more of these beautiful things. They' ve already been found in places like Kansas City, and even in smaller towns like St. Joseph.

Sadly, the number of monarchs has dropped by 80% in the past twenty years. Monarch caterpillars(毛毛虫) need to eat milkweed (乳草) to grow. Much of the milkweed in the country is gone because of the overuse of herbicides(除草剂) in farming. Without these plants, monarchs have no place to live or find food.

Monarchs plays an important role because, like bees, they can carry pollen(花粉), which help plants make seeds and fruit. Here are some things you can do to help these amazing butterflies:

Plant Milkweed:This is the only plant where monarchs lay their eggs. By planting milkweed in your garden, you can give these butterflies a place to stop and rest during their trip. You can also plant other flowers to provide food for the adult butterflies.

Take Photos: If you you see a monarch, take a photo and up load it to the Western Monarch Milkweed Mapper. You can help follow the movements of monarchs and understand where they are during the year, which is valuable information for researchers.

Help Fight Global Warming:Changes in the weather are making life harder for monarchs. Bad weather hurts milkweed and when the temperature is too high or too low, it's difficult for monarchs to grow up. By doing things to help the environment, like recycling and saving energy, you can help slow down global warming and protect the monarchs.
