Nowadays we can see more and more electric bikes in the street. Electric bikes 61. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (be) easy to ride. They run fast and make no {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (pollute). They become very popular, {#blank#}3{#/blank#}the electric bikes also cause more traffic accidents. So China plans {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (make) a new rule for the electric bike riders. If an electric bike is {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (heavy) than 40 kilos and can go faster than 20 kilometers an hour, its rider must get a license. It means some riders have to pass driving tests before they ride {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (them) electric bikes on the road.

    People have different ideas after {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (hear) the plan. Some welcome the plan. A bus driver said happily, " {#blank#}8{#/blank#}a good plan! I think it will make the street much safer." Some are not happy with the new rules at all. One rider said {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (sad), "I don't want to get a license. It's not convenient {#blank#}10{#/blank#}me to get one." Some don't care about it. A young rider said calmly, "I prefer to use shared bikes which are popular in many big cities of China now. I hope they can come to Loudi earlier!"

I was in my room, slowly getting ready to head to the theatre with the rest of my family.

I don't want to put on the show in the theatre that day. "Kirstie, come here!" Mum called from down the hall.

"What is it?"I called back and found my mum outside the bathroom, holding a wet book.

Mum gave the book a shake. "Henry's book was in the bathroom. Did you put it there?"

"Not on purpose," I said disinterestedly,"It was already on the corner, and it happened to fall in when I stepped out." Mum looked at

me angrily,"You could have picked it up. That would be the kind thing to do."

Mum never acted like this before. Being kind wasn't actually that hard. But after Henry and his dad moved in, everything felt different. As Henry walked ahead of us to the car, Mum took me aside.

"This is our corner of the world now, Kirstie,"she said. "Let's try to make it a good one. "

I nodded unwillingly.

The theatre was busy as usual. One play a year in the theatre used to be what Mum and I did together most excitedly. But now, with Henry here, it won't be special any more.

Soon, it was my turn. I forgot my anger at Henry when I went on the stage.

As we kids lined up on the stage, I realised how poorly I had tied(系) the drawstring on my skirt —my bow(蝴蝶结) suddenly came untied and my skirt began to drop — in front of hundreds of people!

It was not a dream! It was terribly real! People soon began laughing, and I could feel my face burning.

Then Henry, beside me, came to my aid! He tidied up my clothes, tying the drawstring with a beautiful knot (结). He made a joke about me"not"knowing knots, and most of the people laughed again! This time, the laughter felt OK!

At the end of the show, I found Henry and touched him on the shoulder. "Thanks!"

He smiled, "Knot a problem!"

I smiled guiltily (惭愧地 ). Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to have a new person in my corner of the world after all.

The United Kingdom is a small country with a big population(人口)-68.5 million people live there. If you travel, most of the time you'll be looking at towns and cities. There are very few wild(野生的) animals. Britain is one of the few countries in the world that does not have a large meat-eating wild animal.

Some people would like to change such things. They would like to help wild animals such as bears (熊)and the kinds of wild plants that grew in Britain in ancient (古老的)times to return. They call this "rewilding" - making things wild again.

Other people do not agree. What would happen if the wild animals left their new homes to kill sheep or even attack (攻击) people? Would people still be able to go walking in the mountains or would it be too dangerous? Some people are very keen (热衷的) to see rewilding happen in Britain, but others are quite worried!

When I was about fourteen , I had a lot of freckles(雀斑). I was so upset. I tried different ways to cover the freckles, but my mother would shake her head and say ,"▲"I felt sad hearing it .

My cousin Jessica had a peaches and cream complexion(白里透红的肤色) I couldn't help thinking that my life would be a lot different if I had a beautiful face too.

And then, in a magazine I found an advertisement(广告) for a freckle removal cream(祛斑霜) knew that I could afford it if I saved my money and I did . For three weeks I went to the mailbox every day exactly at the time the mail arrived.

Finally, I got the magical cream and I couldn't wait to try it on my face . Later that day I went to work on the farm. But if you apply it in the sun, it seems to make your skin worse. Instead of developing a clear complexion, you just get more and darker freckles.

By the end the day when I came back to the house, my family began to say things like," I have never seen you with that many freckles "When I saw myself in the mirror, I cried and hid in the bathroom .

When my grandfather came to see what was wrong with me I told him about the story of the freckle removal cream. Grandpa didn't understand, so I tried to explain why I didn't want to have freckles . He looked at me in surprise and said, "But my child, there are all kinds of flowers, and they are all beautiful." I said," I have never seen a flower with freckles ! "Then I ran back to my room.

When I opened my eyes the next morning, the first thing I saw was a tiger lily—a beautiful flower with freckles. I didn't know where Grandpa found it. Looking at it , I was lost in thought ...

 Xinjiang lies in the northwest part of China. Its many cities are popular places for tourist such as Turpan, Kashi, Aksu and the provincial capital(省会) city Urumqi. As Xinjiang is a place with quite a lot of minority groups(少数民族), there are some local traditional festivals that we might not quite know of.

 Grape Festival is one traditional festival in Turpan. It is the hometown of grapes. This world-known city welcomes the local people as well as international friends to celebrate the festival together. This festival is not just a celebration of Turpan's most important agricultural product(农产品), but a good chance to enjoy the local way of life. During the yearly Turpan Grape Festival, traditional singing and dancing activities are held. Besides, travelers may visit the grape, melon, and fruit streets.

 Turpan Grape Festival is a special event to commemorate the Silk (丝绸) Road so that people will not forget about this road. Turpan is famous as an important point of the road.

①While dogs cannot speak, they do show their feelings with body language and voices. Watch a dog's actions, you'll see how it uses ears, eyes, eyebrows, lips, nose, mouth and tail to express its feelings.

②Happy: A dog that is happy and excited to see you will look at you and wag its tail, or it will run around quickly in circles. Some happy dogs will jump up on you.

③Scared: A scared dog acts differently from a happy one. A frightened dog puts its tail down between its legs. Or it lays its ears back to head. Some dogs growl(咆哮)to show they are afraid. Others try to hide.

④Submissive(顺从的): Rolling over generally means the dog is happy and being submissive. In fact, the dog is saying, "You're the boss." It taps you with a paw or places its head on your leg.

⑤    ▲    : A dog who stands still facing another dog or a person with direct eye contact and with ears and tail up is warning of a coming attack. Dogs show one of these behaviours when they want to be left alone, too. A dog that is not feeling good will open its mouth and show its teeth, or it will growl.

⑥Alert(警觉的): The dog is alert for some reason. If you are training it and its ears raise up, it means the dog is paying attention to you and waiting for your orders.

⑦Dogs like being with people, so they try to get your attention. Dogs also know your body language. If you learn a dog's body language, you'll improve the relationship with the dog.
