Dancing is popular all over the world. People dance in theaters, in parks or in their own living room. But Yang Liu, a woman in Guizhou, dances in an unusual place. Her dancing place is a bamboo pole（竹竿）.

Yang is a performer of bamboo drifting（独竹漂）. It is a traditional skill（技术）in the girl's hometown. In the past, the local people were so poor that there were few bridges over the river for people to walk across. They crossed the rivers by riding on a bamboo pole. Now, bamboo drifting has become a folk sport.

Yang started to learn bamboo drifting at the age of seven. The bamboo pole is very slippery and it never stops moving. Yang fell into the water again and again. But the girl didn't want to give up. She always got back up on the pole and tried again. She practiced hard every day for three years. Finally, she was able to keep her balance on the pole.

But Yang didn't just stop there. She wanted to live out her dream of becoming a dancer on a bamboo pole. The girl practiced many difficult movements on the pole. She failed lots of times, but she never stopped trying.

Her hard work finally paid off. Now 26, Yang has made a name for herself as a dancer on a bamboo pole. People can't believe their eyes whenever they watch her performances. Through Yang's dances, many people now know about bamboo drifting. They have learned the beauty of this traditional skill.

Recently, a study published (发表) in BMC Medicine, found that sitting in front of the TV for a long time was a risk for people's health. 

After scientists used data ( 数据) on 370,000 people, covering 12 years, they found about 9,000 developed

heart disease.  They found people with genes (基因) of heart problems were more likely to develop heart disease.  However, they found that people without such genes watching more than four hours of TV every day were also at the greatest risk of heart disease. People spending 2 to 3 hours a day watching TV had a 6% lower risk.  And those who watched less than an hour had a 16% lower risk.  The scientists of the research team finally found cutting TV watching time to less than an hour a day could prevent 10% of heart disease. 

In life, people who want to watch more TV programs might be the group at a higher risk, for they are easy to spend more time watching TV.  If they have more snacks while watching TV, it might add the risk of putting their hearts in danger.  So, if people want to watch TV longer, standing up and moving the body, or hanging out will work. But limiting their time on TV could be a more useful way to help them avoid possible heart problems in the future. 

Otters (水獭) are cute water animals. These days, keeping otters as pets is getting popular. In Japan, some "otter cafés (咖啡馆)" are open for business. People can pay to play with the otters there and to take photos with them. In Indonesia, people go swimming with their pet otters and take funny videos. These photos and videos posted online have interested more people to buy otters as pets. 

However, these enjoyable photos and videos hide the damage (损害) that the online trade is doing to otters. In fact, wild otters are facing many threats—they have long been hunted for their coats; in some places, fishermen have been killing otters in order to stop them from eating fish; and now, the online pet trade has become another big problem for otters. 

In the wild, baby otters usually stay with their mothers during their first year of life. According to a report, 70% of the otters sold online are under one year old. These baby otters have been stolen from their mothers. When they are kept as pets by humans, they do not live full and natural lives. 

Otters are very social. They live in family groups of up to 15 in the wild. Keeping an otter as a pet can make it very sad and lonely. These animals also need enough space to swim. Their owners' bathtubs (浴缸) or pools are nowhere near as large as the bodies of water in the wild. 

On the other hand, otters simply don't make good pets. They have a very special fishy smell. If they are kept indoors, they will leave a lot of waste around the house. This would make the smell even more unpleasant. Besides, when otters are unhappy, they will make loud noises and even attack (攻击) people. If a person is hurt by an otter, he or she needs to go to hospital at once. 

So, we should stop the otter pet trade and never share photos and videos about them online.
