Most of us might want to do some great things to help others in need. But I found it's not completely(完全地)right.

I'm Wang Ling. This is a true story that happened(发生) to me last Sunday. That day, I planned to go to a bookstore. On the bus, I found that I only had a five-yuan note(纸钞). The bus driver didn't want to wait for me and was going to leave.

Then I looked around and went up to a grandma for some change(零钱). "I'm sorry," the grandma said. "I have no change, either." Just then, I really didn't know what to do. 

"Come here! I can help you," a young man smiled and said. He looked friendly. Then he gave me one yuan. When I was going to give my five yuan to him for the one yuan, he said, "I'm happy that I can help you. You don't need to give me the money. Just keep it."

With thanks, I put that warm coin into the money box on the bus and then sat near the young man. Yes, he seemed not to help me a lot. But his sunny face and kindness were always in my heart.

A horse fair was an interesting place. There were young horses and many beautiful horses from the country. But there were also a lot of poor and thin horses.

At the horse fair there was a man with a gentle voice and kind grey eyes. He offered 23 pounds for me, but the salesman refused. Then a man with a very loud voice came. I was afraid he was going to buy me, but he walked away. Then the grey-eyed man came back again and said, "I'll give you 24 pounds to buy him."

"Done," said the salesman. "He's an excellent horse and if you want him for cab (出租马车) work, he can help you earn more than you pay for him. The horse is well worth the price."

Half an hour later we set off for London, along country roads, until we came to that great city. There were streets to the right, and streets to the left. We went into one of the small streets, and then into a very narrow street, with small and old houses.

My owner stopped at a house. The door opened, and a woman, a little girl and a boy came out.

"Is he gentle, Dad?"

"Yes, Dolly, as gentle as a little cat. And you can pat him."

Dolly, the little girl, patted my shoulder without fear. It felt so good! They led me into a comfortable, clean room, and after a delicious meal I lay down to sleep, thinking "I'm going to be very happy here".

My new owner's name was Jerry. His wife was called Polly and they had two children, Harry and Dolly. The next morning they came to see me. I loved it when they patted me and spoke in gentle voices.

"Let's call him ‘Jack', after the old horse, shall we, Harry?" said Dolly.

"Yes, sounds great!" said Harry.

The first week of my life as Jack, the London cab horse, was very hard. The noise, the people and the traffic on the streets scared me. But Jerry was a very good driver, and that helped me a lot. Jerry soon found that I was ready to work hard and do my best, and he didn't whip (鞭打) me.

He kept me very clean, and gave me as much food as I wanted. But the best thing was that I had Sundays off.

Being outgoing is good for your life. Those who are more outgoing like to meet lots of people and have more fun in life. In fact, being outgoing is not so hard as you think. Even shy people can be outgoing. 

 You can start becoming outgoing with your best friends or a group of friends. But the real challenge comes when you meet strange people or new friends. Smile more, and usually they will return your smile. In this way, you may have some talks. 

 Start a talk. Just a simple" Hello" or"How is it going" is a good start. If you want to make interesting talks, you should read news in the newspapers and prepare your views(观点), or surf the Internet for new information and then keep that in mind. 

 The easiest way to become more outgoing is to go out. This is also the most important step. Go to a park, beach, club, party or any other place that you think can be fun, and you may make new friends there. 

Do you know bamboo(竹子)？ It's always green in a year and it is everywhere in Bali. There are 1，450 kinds of bamboo around the world， but we only use seven kinds of them to make things. We can use bamboo to make things like beds， desks and chairs. 

My father uses bamboo to build Green School in Bali. In Green School， all of the rooms are made of bamboo. There are a lot of bamboo things in the classrooms. Every classroom has a bamboo blackboard， some bamboo desks and bamboo chairs. 

But every classroom has no windows, doors or walls. It only has a bamboo roof ， and you can see it when you look up in the classroom. 

Green School is very nice. Its students are from 40 countries. They have maths， English, art and music classes. In their free time, all students grow fruit and vegetables around the school. And they also keep pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks. A lot of food comes from their hands.

 Recently, Shenzhen has got the"City Award" because of its smart city equipment, including smart parking (智能停 车 ), smart minibuses and smart subway(地铁) systems.

Parking solutions. Parking is a big problem in Shenzhen, such as during school runs, hospital visits or holidays. There are usually many students, patients and visitors. It is difficult for drivers to find parking places in this busy city, and sometimes they have to wait for spaces to open. To solve this problem, the city has provided smart parking features on the iShenzhen app. People can quickly find out the nearest parking lot and the best time to get there and even to book a parking place before travelling out.

 Smart minibuses. If you go to Qianhai, you can find some driverless minibuses there. People can get on these minibuses by scanning a QR code(扫二维码) through WeChat. There are also robottaxis and driverless trucks in Qianhai.

 Smart subways. Before the end of 2024, five new subway lines opened. There is more people-friendly and smarter equipment in the newly-built lines. For example, people could use the visual detection (人脸识别) system to help them get into the subway station faster and more safely.

 Shenzhen is trying to build a people-centred city. What do people think of the equipment?
