I'm Eason. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in "New York with my family. I like reading very much, and I have many books at {#blank#}2{#/blank#}, I'm in the school book club now. There're{#blank#}3{#/blank#}students and three teachers in the club. We meet from 7:00 to 8:00 {#blank#}4{#/blank#}  Wednesday afternoon. We usually{#blank#}5{#/blank#}about one book together. Our teacher {#blank#}6{#/blank#} asks us some questions about the book. All of us want to answer them, because it's interesting {#blank#}7{#/blank#}a game. We can borrow (借) a book from the club, but we must take it back {#blank#}8{#/blank#}  It's fun joining the book club, because we can also make {#blank#}9{#/blank#} friends here. There's a new book {#blank#}10{#/blank#}every month in the club. I like the show very much and I never miss (错过)it!

As is known to us, microbes (微生物) help us do lots of things here on the earth. They can make bread rise and treat some illnesses among many other things. Researchers have done lots of experiments (实验) with microbes in space. And their latest findings show that these microbes could be very helpful for us to learn more about space.

Last summer, the European Space Agency did an experiment at the International Space Station. In this experiment, three kinds of microbes were tested on their ability to pull REES (稀土元素) out of rocks in three different kinds of gravity (重力).

This way of using microbes to get materials from rocks is known as bio-mining (生物开采). We've been doing it for some time here on the earth, mainly to get gold and other materials. But here comes a serious question. Would it work in space? These researchers found the proper answer in their experiments.

The results were encouraging. Of the three kinds of microbes. one was able to pull 14 kinds of REES out of rocks in all three kinds of gravity. The rocks used in the experiment were made of a kind of rock that is commonly found on the earth, Mars and the moon.

While the results might be useful, how can they help us learn more about space? For one thing, space research in the future will require us to find materials on the moon and Mars. Therefore, we are able to use these things to continue our research efforts. And bio-mining can help us do this cheaply and easily. It's one of the exciting news to the scientific field.

In the past, I thought I was terrible at many things, such as maths, French and science.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}I was good at drawing, I wasn't the best in my art class. I {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(want) to find out who I was, what I liked and how I could do it well. So, in that winter, I took {#blank#}3{#/blank#}notebook and kept my diary. When I filled that notebook, I started another one, and then another.

{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(keep) a diary helps me a lot. Studies have shown that people who keep a diary sleep and feel much {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(good). It helps people remember what once happened such as {#blank#}6{#/blank#} ( dream ), friendships and happiness. Writing about bad feelings can also help brains get over {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(they) and move on. Personally, I learn more about myself and my relationships with others {#blank#}8{#/blank#}keeping a diary. For example, if I want to compare myself with my classmates, I'll write something like, "I might not have clear skin, but I {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(true) like my eyes."

Right now, you might be thinking: It sounds great, {#blank#}10{#/blank#}I'm not a good writer; or I'd love to keep a diary, but my handwriting is terrible, Don't worry! Keeping a diary is not like doing your homework — there are no rules, so do whatever you feel best.

To personal trainer Sammy Callari, 13-year-old Parker Seward is more than a client (客户). He's his "little brother. Over the past year, the pair have developed a close 1 . They play basketball together, share meals and dance to hip-hop like no one's watching. 

Last spring the trainer was asked to work with Parker, who had Down syndrome (唐氏综合症), 2 his co-worker (was out of town. Callari had never worked with someone with a (n) 3 by himself before. He was stressed the first day he met Parker, but Parker's wide smile and cheerful introduction made him 4 at once. 

Parker reminded Callari of himself when he was a (n) 5 . As a high schooler, Callari described himself as a weak, thin kid. When it came to sports, he always 6 to be noticed. His dream of playing basketball in college quickly died. He then turned to another new7 . His younger brother trained him to become a Kung fu artist. Callari took part in five matches. Out of those fights he was considered to be the 8 , but he won three times. 

 "Society tells you ‘you can't do this', or ‘you can't do that', "says Callari. When it comes to Parker, Callari 9 to accept the word "can't". 

The friends meet twice a week to train. They train together with biking and boxing. Parker has a short 10 span (持续时间), so it's Callari's job to keep him focused. Callari 11 videos of himself and Parker's exercising online-12 , with the agreement from Parker's mom. 

 "It's clear that it is Parker who 13 me," Callari says. "He's made me a better trainer, and he's also made me a better person," Callari adds. "A lot of people see him as different, but I've 14 looked at him like that. If anyone is 15 , it's me."

Let's meet the mascot (吉祥物) —Phryges first. It is red, white and blue. It has big blue eyes. It is cute and everybody likes it. Phryges wears blue trousers and looks like a cap. It is also in the famous cartoon The Smurfs.

And many Chinese people go to Paris to see Chinese players in this Olympic Games. Pan Zhanle is one of the most famous players because he wins (赢) the first place of the swimming game. Many students likes him after watching his game. After Li Wenwen wins the women's +81kg title, Chinese players wins 91 medals (奖牌) in this Olympic game and 40 of them are gold medals.

Olympic Games make people love sports. Come and play the sports you like !

Sergio is from Cuba(古巴). He was excited to visit Chengdu last summer vacation because he is fond of pandas. Yeah, pandas are his favorite animals. Even his social media account(社交账户)is called Panda Latino!

Not surprisingly, Sergio took a trip to Chengdu and his first stop was the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding(成都大熊猫培育基地). There he took quite a few photos of pandas. He also learned a lot about their favorite food bamboo. 

In Chengdu, bamboo products are everywhere in people's everyday life, like bamboo tables, chairs and bags. The next stop of Sergio's trip was the Bamboo Art Village. There he learned how to make a bamboo panda, but it was not easy for him. 

Then the man got to the Chengdu Botanical Garden (植物园). There he saw many kinds of plants. A worker there showed him another good place to enjoy the beauty of plants, so he made his way to Xiling Snow Mountain. The mountain is home to over 2, 000 different plants. Wild pandas live in the mountain, too. What's more, it is a good place for people to do snow sports in winter. 

Sergio' s last stop was the International Horticulture Exhibition(世界园艺博览会) in Chengdu. There he enjoyed flowers from all over the world. 

Sergio really had an enjoyable time in Chengdu!
