Mary is an American girl. She is in Beijing with her parents now. She doesn't know Chinese，but she is trying to study and speak it. Sometimes her friends don't understand(理解)her，because she can't speak Chinese very well.

    It's a Saturday morning. She wants to go to the park to see a flower show(展览). But she doesn't know how to get there. She asks a Chinese boy. The boy can't understand her. Then she takes out a pen and a piece of paper. She draws some flowers on it and gives it to the boy. She says something about it. The boy smiles and then shows Mary the way to the park.

    Wendy and her mother are in the supermarket. Where is the shop assistant? Look, she's coming and smiling. "Hello, can I help you?"

    "Can we have some watermelons and strawberries, please?"

    "Sorry, we have some strawberries, but we haven't any watermelons."

    "Can we have some grapes?"

    "OK. Here you are. "

    "Oh, the strawberries are red and big. But the grapes...”

    "Mm, they are sweet. We like them. "

    Then Wendy and her mother are buying the fruit. They are happy.

    It is Christmas Day. There is a big party in the house. Guests come and go, but the party goes on.

    Kitty is sitting in the chair. She is eating some sandwiches. On the long table, there is lots of other, food. There are four eggs, ten sweets, one cake and six biscuits.

    There are some toys in the house, too. They are balls, toy bears, toy robots and Barbie dolls. Children like playing all the toys. Girls like playing the dolls. Boys like playing the bails. They are excited.

    Mrs. Wang is in the kitchen. She is cooking some chicken. Mr. Wang is in the house. He is under a tree. It is a Christmas tree. Mr. Wang is putting many presents on the tree. Now the tree is very beautiful. Every child can get a present from the tree.

    Look! This is a picture of my bedroom. It's small. There is a bed, a desk and a chair in it. There is a toy bear on my bed. On the desk there is an English book, a blue pen and a red lamp(台灯). There is a chair beside the desk. Under the chair there is a black and white dog. I like my bedroom. Do you like my bedroom? What's in your bedroom? Can you tell me?

    Bill's family is writing a shopping list. His mother wants some bread, eggs and juice. His father wants some cake, fruit and milk. Bill wants some apples, ice-cream and cola. But his parents say: "No ice-cream and cola! They are not good for you."
