When I was twelve, I wrote the first note to my mother, "Hi, Mom! Have a nice day! Love, Marie! ", and I folded the note into her change purse(零钱包) . 

My mother worked as a cleaner in a clothing factory. I knew that when she bought meals in the dining hall, she would have to look for change in her purse. I didn't know that she would keep that note, and always carry it with her. 

From the day that I carefully folded the small piece of paper into my mother's change purse. ____. They would be put in the fridge, under a lamp, or beside the TV set. I even found one hidden in my shoe. From the outside, our notes may have been general records of our days, ideas and wishes. But to my mother and me, they were a lifeline—a special communication with each other that no one else shared. 

On October 20, 2009, my mother died after a long illness. I stood near her bed, holding her hand. I didn't cry the day my mom died, and I didn't cry a week later when I went to collect her things. I was so thankful that she no longer had aches and pains. 

Recently, I found a note that my mom had left me. It had been hidden in the pages of my favorite childhood book for years. It read, "Dear Marie, I love you always. Miss you a lot. Don't forget me. Be happy! Love, Mom" That day, I cried. 

We have made a survey(调查) about" sports" in our grade. There are 700 students in our grade, including 400 boys and 300 girls. Here are the results. 

According to the results, the PE teacher gave us the following suggestions. Boys and girls should play sports together and try some different sports. Trying some new sports like football may bring us some surprises. 

Mrs. Brown lives on a farm. Every day she gets up early and then starts her 1 : watering the plants, cleaning the yard(院子) and feeding the animals. Her husband, Mr. Brown usually makes her some bread and eggs for 2 . But today Mr. Brown isn't 3 in the kitchen and there is no food on the table.

What season is it in October? If you ask people from UK, they will tell you it's "autumn". But if you go to US, you will find that people use "autumn" or "fall". 

According to Dictionary. com, both words have been around for a long time. but neither of them was first to describe this season. During this season. crops would become ripe（成熟）and farmers would have a big harvest. So in Old English, this season was simply called "harvest". 

Then, in the 1600s, more people left their farms and moved to cities. With fewer people farming the word "harvest" became less useful. English speakers needed a different name for the season. They knew leaves fell from trees during the season, so people started calling it "the fall of the leaf", or "fall" for short. 

But at the end of the 1600s, autumn, from the French word "autompne" and the Latin "autumnus", came to English. "Fall" as the word for this season disappeared slowly. 

At the same time, people in UK were making their first trip to North America. They brought the words "fall" and "autumn" with them. That's why today Americans have two names for one season. 

Wu Mo and her parents live in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. It is a beautiful city with a population of more than 9. 6 million. With a long history of about 7, 000 years, Ningbo is not only a famous historical and cultural (文化的) city in China, but also a great place for tourists. 

Wu Mo is good at her school subjects and she really loves reading. There are a variety of books in her large room. This weekend her uncle and her cousin Wu Gang will come to their home by car. They live in a town not far away from Ningbo. Wu Gang also loves reading. He hopes Wu Mo can take him to Tianyige Museum because he knows that there are many valuable ancient books in it. Wu Mo feels happy because they both have the same interest. 

Tianyige Museum is in Ningbo. It's famous for its collection of about 300, 000 ancient books. People see the museum as the biggest library in South China. In fact, it is one of the three oldest private (私人的) libraries in the world. And it has a history of more than 450 years. 

The opening hours of the museum are different. From May 1st to October 31st, it is open from8:30 am to 5:30 pm. From November 1st to April30th, its opening time is from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Well, the museum isn't open every Monday morning. 

Wu Mo is looking forward to their visit. They believe the museum will open up a new world for them.
