Liu Shuangrui, a 15-year-old boy from Liaoning, started to wear glasses at the age of 5. Twenty-five of 38 students in Liu's class wear glasses. Does this sound anything like your class? China has the world's most near-sighted people: the number of near-sighted people became 700,000,000 in 2021, and now it's even larger.
"This is mainly because of the overuse of the eyes when people are studying or working," Wang Ningli, head of a famous Beijing hospital once said. Now, many young people spend lots of time looking at computers or phones every day.
Many people know that reading in the dark light is bad for one's eyes. They try to read only under bright light. However, if the light is too bright, it can also have bad results for one's eyes.
Eating too much candy can do something bad for your eyes as well. Too much candy will result in losing vitamin (维生素) B1. Vitamin B1 is very important for your eyes.
It's not so hard to save eyesight as you expect. Almost everyone can try the following advice.
·Follow the 20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look away from computers or phones you are using. Try not to put them too close to your eyes. Keep your eyes at least 20 cm away from the screens or the desks when you work or study.
·Do some outdoor activities every day.When you are outside, look at things far from you. In this way, your eyes can get relaxed. And getting more sunshine will be useful for your eyes.
