Charlotte's Web(网) is a popular children's novel. It is a story about friendship. 

Wilbur is a pig. A young girl 1 him. One day, the girl's father sold the 2 to Mr. Zuckerman. Wilbur left the young girl and came to the new home. But he felt 3 and very sad in his new home. Then he met a spider(蜘蛛) named Charlotte. They became good friends.

Wilbur later learned that Mr. Zuckerman planned to kill(杀死) 4 for Christmas dinner. He turned to Charlotte for 5 . Charlotte thought of an idea. She wrote something in her web above Wilbur's door. She described Wilbur as "Some Pig" and "Great."

Mr. Zuckerman then believed Wilbur was very special. So he put the pig into a 6 . Charlotte helped her friend to be the winner. Mr. Zuckerman was 7 and promised that he would not kill Wilbur.

Soon Charlotte was tired and finally left the world. But she gave birth to some babies before she 8 . Most of the baby spiders left. Wilbur felt lonely again. 9 , three of the baby spiders stayed with Wilbur. They became his 10 , just like their mother once did.

Charlotte's Web teaches us that life is short and special. We should enjoy the moments we spend with our friends and family.

How did you spend your summer holiday last month? I'd like to tell you 1 happened to me during my holiday. 

My 2 planned a relaxing and happy trip. We didn't need to keep up with our work and studies. On the first day, 3 we started out for Shanghai, we saw on TV that the traffic was heavy. So my parents 4 not to drive our car but to take the bullet train(高速火车) to Shanghai. It was the first time that I had ridden on the bullet train, so I was really 5 .

On the way, an American girl sat next to me and I talked to her. She told me that she came here for a short stay—her father came to China on business. In one year he would 6 to his company in the US. "How are you getting along here?" I asked. "Pretty good. I 7 the life here. China is a beautiful and great country. Besides, Chinese people are pretty 8 , "she said. Hearing that, I felt proud that I'm Chinese! With new friends around, the girl still missed her friends in the US very much. "It doesn't matter. I could always connect with them by writing letters and emails or making phone calls, " she said with a sweet9 . It was so great for her to be able to go through life in10 countries and cultures. I hope I can experience different cultures in other countries some day.

Tom's family was poor. His father did a {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(专职的) job with a little money. They couldn't afford electric {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (电灯) because they were so expensive. So they used some {#blank#}3{#/blank#} (蜡烛) instead. In Tom's {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (空余) time, he cleaned shoes for others in the street. 

One day, a {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(富有的) man called Miser appeared in front of Tom. He watched his shoes for a while, and then looked at Tom. Tom knew this kind of people well. They love money but hate to spend even a{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(极小的) amount of it. 

 Tom said, "Let me clean your shoes, sir. Only two pence, sir. " Mr Miser 1 {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(摇晃) his head and walked away. Tom thought for a second and then called out, "I'd like to clean it for nothing. " This time Mr Miser agreed. And soon one of his shoes was{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(照耀) brightly. 

 When Mr Miser put the other shoe on the stool, Tom said he wouldn't clean it unless (除非) he was {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(支付) two pence for his work. Mr Miser was very unhappy. He{#blank#}10{#/blank#}(拒绝) and went away. But the well- cleaned shoe was so bright that it made the other one look even dirtier. Mr Miser looked round. Finally he returned and gave Tom two pence. 

There is a farm. A boy is on the farm. His name is Bingo. Many animals are on the farm. They are five pigs, seven cows, ten chickens, four cats, three dogs, and five rabbits. Dogs can swim. They're white. Horses can run. Rabbits can jump. Where are the chickens? They are under the tree. What happened? A pig is stuck. 

Sonia is 14. She couldn't stand Beijing Opera（京剧） in the past. She thought it was boring. Like most of other students, Sonia liked popular music. This year her parents got new jobs in Beijing, so she came to Beijing with them. Then she started to study at No. 15 Middle School. 

Sonia learns Beijing Opera in music class every Friday. She learns a lot about Chinese history from Beijing Opera. Little by little (一点点地) she gets interested in Beijing Opera. Now she likes to see Beijing Opera on TV. And she joins her school Beijing Opera club. "Beijing Opera is a kind of Chinese old art, " Sonia said. "If one goes to learn it, he or she will like the country more. "
