We should not use more water than we actually need. If we do, we will not have enough water in the future.{#blank#}1{#/blank#}It is not a difficult question to answer. If we remove more fresh water than nature replaces, we have taken too much.

    Many cities run campaigns (运动) to get people to stop wasting water. They show them ways they can cut back on water use.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}What's more, they carry out programs that offer money to reduce water use. For example, they give people shower heads and toilets that use less water.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}

    Another threat (威胁) to our water supply is pollution. When our sources of fresh water get polluted, we can no longer use this water. This also endangers (危及) the animals that depend on the water.

    {#blank#}4{#/blank#}We can save lots of water by not letting taps (水龙头) run while we brush our teeth or by turning off taps right after washing hands. By collecting cold water when we're taking warm showers, we can also save water.{#blank#}5{#/blank#}In this way, we can make full use of water.

Working as a city cleaner in the Chaoyang District of Beijing, a busy city, Zhang Jianna has earned the respect and attention of many with her good English skills and her kindness in helping foreigners. Born in the countryside of Hebei Province, 49-year-old Zhang Jianna moved to Beijing after finishing high school. She has worked in different jobs, including being a restaurant waitress and working as a salesperson in a shopping center. In 2012, she started working as a city cleaner. However, it was a chance encounter with a foreigner that encouraged her. The foreigner praised the cleanliness of the streets in English, but Zhang could only understand the word " good". This experience developed her interest in learning English. Even though it's hard to find time to study, Zhang used any free time she had to learn new words and practice speaking English. At night, she wrote down everything she learned, filling up many notebooks with what she was learning. She also used English-learning apps on her phone and computer to help her study. 

Now knowing about 3, 000 words, Zhang talks confidently with people from other countries, helping them with what they need and showing them around the city streets. Learning English has not just helped her meet people but also made her very happy. "I got more confident from learning, " said Zhang. "I feel joyful every time I help a foreigner. "

Zhang Jianna stands as an inspiring example of lifelong learning and the power of a positive spirit. Her spirit reflects a deep sense of responsibility to present the best face of the capital city to the world. Looking ahead, she hopes to use her English to encourage people to visit her hometown when she stops working and help Hebei Province develop. 

Around the world more and more people are taking part in dangerous sports and activities. I would consider bungee jumping（蹦极）to be a good example of such an activity. You jump from a high place, 200 meters above the ground with an elastic（有弹性的）rope tied to your ankles. You fall at up to 150 kilometers an hour until the rope stops you from hitting the ground. It is said that about 2 million people around the world have now tried bungee jumping. Other activities which most people would say are as risky as bungee jumping include jumping from tall buildings and diving into the sea from the top of high cliffs（悬崖）. 

Why do people take part in such activities? Some psychologists suggest that it is because life in modern society has become safe and boring. 

Nowadays, according to many people, life offers little excitement. They live and work in comparatively safe conditions （条件）：They buy food in shops; and there are doctors and hospitals to look after them if they become ill. The answer for some of these people is to look for danger in activities such as bungee jumping. 

Winnie the Witch (女巫) wants to go into space.  Winnie packs a picnic basket and runs up a rocket with her 1 , Wilbur.  The rocket 2 on a little planet.  The place is 3 , but there are funny little holes everywhere. 

A little head pops (突然出现) out of a hole, and then there are heads 4 .  "Rabbits!" says Winnie.  A space rabbit 5 onto the rocket.  Then some of the space rabbits come too.  They sniff (嗅) it and take bites (咬).  The space rabbits 6 the rocket.  They soon 7 all of Winnie's rocket. 

"Now 8 will we get home?" says Winnie.  She waves her magic wand (魔杖) and shouts "ABRACADABRA!" There is a new 9 .  Winnie and her cat climb up to the rocket and jump in.  The rocket blasts (发射) away.  It lands in Winnie's garden.  "That was a(n) 10 adventure, Wilbur," Winnie says.  "But I'm glad we're home. "

Last Saturday was a great day. We felt the 1 of the world that day. 

While Bob and I went across a bridge, something caught our 2 . On a large rock (岩石) in the centre of a small river, something was3 . 

"What's that little thing?" Bob asked.

Ana was excited. Her family was going to an African restaurant. The owner was a naturalist who collected animal shells and bones. Ana found beautiful shells and feathers on the walls. But then she saw a lion head 1 in the middle of the wall. The owner, Mr. Ted, came over.

"Did you kill that lion?" Ana asked. "I thought you were 2 naturalist."

"I am," he laughed. "I love studying animals. I didn't kill it. 3 I did buy it. A lot of people buy lion objects here. Do you like it?"

"I'm sorry that you're sad," he said. "Please eat in one of 5 rooms."
