Everyone needs sleep. Sleep plays {#blank#}1{#/blank#} important part in people's daily life.

Getting a good night's sleep is good for your {#blank#}2{#/blank#} (healthy). But do you know {#blank#}3{#/blank#} sleep is so important? In fact, sleep is made up of different {#blank#}4{#/blank#} (moment). In the first few moments, your mind stops thinking back about what has happened {#blank#}5{#/blank#} day to night. Also, your mind stops worrying about what is going around. When you fall more deeply asleep, your body begins to relax. You will {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (come) to the last moment called Rapid Eye Movement (REM) in several minutes. At this time, you will sleep deeply the most {#blank#}7{#/blank#} (importance) part of all these moments when you are asleep. It helps keep you active during the day.

So, {#blank#}8{#/blank#} you don't get enough sleep, you may feel awful the next day and not want to eat anything. {#blank#}9{#/blank#} (you) body may have a hard time protecting itself from illnesses. As time goes by, you may fall ill and become weak {#blank#}10{#/blank#} (easy).

Sleep is very important, so make sure you're getting enough of it!

Ye Jiaying, also known as Florence Yeh, was selected as one of the ten role models who won 2020 Touching China awards, a program by the CCTV.

Ye Jiaying was born into a family of scholars in July 1924 in Beijing. As an expert in the study of classical Chinese literature (文学), she started her lifelong career as a literature teacher in 1945 when she graduated from Fu Jen Catholic Unisersity, which later became part of Beijing Nonnal University.

In 1948, towards the end of the Chinese civil war, Ye and her husband moved to Taiwan. She gained popularity in Taiwan. With students speaking highly of her teaching, she was recruited by Taiwan University, Fu Jen University and Tamkang University to leach Chinese literature.

 In 1966, the couple moved to the United States, where Ye first taught Chinese poetry at Michigan State University and then at Harvard University. Later, they moved to Canada and she worked as a tenured professor at the University of Columbia in Canada.

Beginning in 1979, Ye began spending summers teaching at various Chinese colleges, including famous universities such as Beijing University, Nankai University and Fudan University. She offered her services for free and paid her own travel expenses (开销). She believes that her teaching is the best gift she can offer to the country and later generations.

In 2013, she came back to China and worked in Nankai University. She has settled down in Tianjin since then. The university announced (宣布) that Ye had donated 18.57 million yuan ($2.8 million) to the college to set up the Jiaying Scholarship.

According to the speech which explained why she won the 2020 Touching China awards, Ye Jiaying devoted herself to teaching Chinese poems. She only did one thing in her life, bringing the beauty of ancient Chinese poetry to the world.

" It's a rainbow. How many colors can you see, my dear?" asks her father.

 Then they go home."I want to draw a rainbow, Dad, but I don't have orange , green or purple," Alice says to her father.

" That's easy. You know what? We have the three colors. Let me help you. Mix(混合) red and yellow, and we can get orange. Mix yellow and blue, and we can get green. Blue and red can make purple."

" Wow, that's interesting! I have seven colors now. I can draw a rainbow. Thanks, Dad!" Alice draws a great rainbow. She is so happy!

Those robots above require artificial intelligence(AD)（人工智能）. AI is a computer system（系统）that can understand languages,make decisions and solve problems. AI can be taught skills using a process called machine learning. Humans give AI information such as books,photos or videos to train it. The more information it studies, the better it can do its job. 

_________ For example, when you watch TV,Al is watching you. It'll know what your favorite is and suggest similar ones. In hospitals,AI is very good at suggesting treatments and can even invent new medicines. To cut down food waste,some schools introduce online systems for the students to choose meals ahead of time. In cities, AI is used to watch out for cars that make black smoke. It works together with the police and transportation teams to stop them and keep the air clean. Al can help us fight climate（气候）change by finding clever ways to reduce energy use. 

Some people worry that AI will take away a large number of jobs and also fear that AI could develop out of our control and bring danger to humans. However,AI is expected to be a more powerful production tool that will help humans achieve more in less time. It is believed that the flying car will be made to offer an easier way out of the morning traffic jam（交通堵塞）. Humans imagine AI might even use a way to solve the problems of our energy needs completely. Anyway,there is still long journey for humans and AI.

★Listening

Listening is a great way to improve your pronunciation and intonation(语调). You can start by listening to short stories for children because they are usually easy.

★Reading

Reading is a good way to help you learn new words. And it will also help you learn English grammar. Children's books are great for beginners..

★Vocabulary

When you come across new words in the reading, write them down in your notebook. You can write down the translation in your native language to help you understand.

★Speaking

While doing your reading exercises, read them aloud. You can also look for some articles on the Internet to read.

Learning any language needs practice— lots of practice. You don't have to spend hours studying each day; just 30 minutes a day for four or five days a week will help you improve it.
