I'm studying in an American school now. Some of my classmates often ask me 1 like this, "Li Hua, Chinese is difficult for me. I don't know 2 to learn it well. Can you give 3 some advice (建议)?" Here is my advice.

 When shopping for clothes, my mother and I have always disagreed on what fits me well. To me, if it zips, it fits. My mom, however, usually tells me I need a bigger size.

 When I was a teenager, I wanted to dress like my friends, but my body size made it impossible. When mo m told me something didn't suit me, or I needed a bigger size, all I heard was that my body was wrong.

 To avoid arguments, we stopped going shopping together. This continued until  I got engaged(订婚) last year and needed to buy some clothes. When I tried on a blouse. my mother looked at me, and I knew what was coming." You need a bigger size," she said.

 There was no bigger size. I tried to hold back my tears. Maybe I could buy it alone, of course, but my mom is my favorite person to hang out with The idea of looking for a wedding dress without her seemed just as scary as taking her with me.

 And so the day came. As I tried on a simple white dress. I saw tears in my mom's eyes. " You look beautiful! " she told me. Nothing could have shocked me more.

 This one didn't zip up at the back and I did actually need a bigger size, but my mother didn't say that. She just told me how beautiful I looked. In that moment, all the argument s in the past ended. We didn't buy a dress that day.

 We decided to see more, which I would never have predicted.

A few weeks later, we found the perfect dress. We both loved it as soon as I put it on. And during those few weeks, mom and I also found the perfect fit for our shopping relationship.

Recently videos of a man dancing have become popular online. He is Ma Jiaolong, a Chinese dancer. Ma has nearly 5 million followers on Douyin, a short﹣ video platform（平台）in China. "I was surprised because I didn't think that the videos would go viral. " says the 35﹣year﹣old dancer. 

Ma began teaching Chinese classical （古典的） dance at Goldsmiths, University of London, three years ago. He started making videos when his teaching job was affected（受影响） by COVID﹣19. Like many other teachers, Ma had to give online classes. Besides teaching, he trained at home for at least two hours a day. However, Ma couldn't make big moves because his home was small. One day, Ma and his wife went to a supermarket and passed Greenwich Park. Ma's wife said to him, "Why not do some dance moves here that you couldn't do at home？" Then Ma jumped off the ground and did a dance move, which was filmed by his wife on her phone. 

"Back home, I sent the video to my friends. To my surprise, they loved it and I decided to share it online, " says Ma. Later, he made more short videos and put them online. 

After Ma's videos got popular, he got lots of messages from people around the world. "Now, making and sharing short videos has become a part of my life. Most importantly, it's a great way to show Chinese classical dance to more people. " says Ma. "It's always been my dream to offer people worldwide a chance to understand traditional Chinese culture. " Ma says. 

In the 1950s, a female swimming athlete set a goal for herself. She decided to swim across the English Channel before she retired. If she could make it, she would be the first person in the world who did it. 

On that day, she jumped into the sea without any hesitation(犹豫) and swam towards the opposite bank. In the journey, she faced heavy fog, heavy rain and heavy waves. Though she was very tired, she kept on swimming. But in the end, she gave up. And what she didn't know at the moment she gave up was that the opposite bank was only one mile away. 

Later, people asked her about the reason. And she said, "The reason why I give up is that I could not see the goal which I was so close to. "

Too many success stories have been told us about courage and persistence(坚持). But they never told us where to find co urage and persistence. You can have courage only when you know where your goal is, and prepare yourself well mentally(心理上). 

Courage and persistence never fall from the sky. They come from weighing between input and output. A life without goals is like a ship without compass. It goes nowhere. There is no courage or persistence in a life without goals. 

Do you know what hobbies are? Hobbies are things that people enjoy doing in their free time. They can be anything from playing sports to reading books. Hobbies are important because they give people a way to have fun. 

There are different kinds of hobbies. Different hobbies can help us learn different skills. Some people enjoy things like climbing and skating. These hobbies are great for getting fresh air. Others are interested in watching movies or reading. These hobbies are great for gaining knowledge(获取知识) Some people enjoy painting or playing music. These hobbies make people create something interesting. 

Hobbies are different, but most hobbies have one thing in common. Most of the time, hobbies car, help people learn something new. 

Hobbies are important, but remember not to let hobbies influence(影响) our studies. We need to find a balance(平衡) between our interests and studies. For example, we can spend some time each day or week on them, and we should also make sure that we pay attention to our schoolwork. 

We encourage people to try new things. In this way, we'll have chances to make friends with the same hobbies. Then we can lead healthy and colourful lives at the same time.
