A 17-year-old Chinese girl, from Inner Mongolia, has broken several school records in long-distance running lately. And she owes (归功于) her excellent performance to her father: He not only accompanies (陪伴) his daughter on her runs every morning, but he has also built a simple "gym" for her.

Zheng Guohua, a student in high school starts her run on the street with her father at four o'clock every morning. Her father, Zheng Long, always rides a motorcycle to accompany her.

Besides running, the father has also worked out a stricter training plan for his daughter, and built a simple "gym" by himself. Zheng Long made good use of something old that he collected during his spare time to set up the gym. It took him half a month to build the gym so his daughter could exercise better.

Every time during the school sports meeting, he attends his daughter's competitions, which gives her a feeling of pride. Zheng Guohua said, "My classmates envy (羡慕) me for having such a loving and caring father. They all want to have a father like mine."

In Zheng Guohua's eyes, her father is not only a serious coach with a loud voice during training, but also a good friend to accompany her along the way. Zheng Guohua said that there were times when she wanted to give up training, however, she encouraged herself with her father's words: "Only by paying the price of Superman can we get the harvest (收获) of Superman." In the end, she overcame the difficulties because she always thought people should make their efforts to realize their own dreams, although there were some difficulties in life.

Driverless(无人驾驶) helpers

You can see different kinds of driverless cars at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. For example, when you feel tired, you can have a rest in a driverless minibus. When you feel hungry, you can buy food from a "driverless car store". Another kind of driverless car can even send things to you just like a postman. They help to make the Games a bigger success.

Space classes

On March 23, 2022, three Chinese astronauts gave their second lecture(课程) from Tiangong space station. They did several experiments(实验). They also showed some tools to study science. The three astronauts gave their first lecture last December. Millions of students watched them and learned many fantastic science facts.

3D photos

This May, a middle school in Beijing used 3D­printing technology to print graduation photos(毕业照) for Grade 9 students. Students can touch the "faces" of their classmates. This technology can also help blind students "see" their classmates.

Question 1: How did you become a National Geographic photographer?

My first job was for a newspaper. After a few years there, I met a National Geographic photographer. He liked my photos and said I should send some to the magazine. So I did. That led to a one-day job. And that led to a nine-day job, and so on.

To get into National Geographic, you have to give them something they don't have. It's not enough just to be a great photographer. You also have to be a scientist, for example, or be able to dive under sea ice, or spend maybe several days in a tree.

Question 3: Is it hard to get a job as a photographer today?

It's now harder to work for magazines. Technology makes it easy to take good pictures, which means there are more photos and photographers. Also, the Web is filled with photos from all around the world that are free, or cost very little. These photos are often good enough to be put in books and magazines. What the magazines need to do these days is to pay for these photos.

Question 4: I want to be a photographer. Do you have any advice for me?

Advice? Well, work hard. Be passionate（热情的） about every project you work on. Take lots of pictures in different situations. Look at others' photos thoughtfully and learn from them. And be curious about everything. There's something to photograph everywhere.

Nadia Comaneci, a famous gymnast(体操运动员), was born in Romania in 1961. 

When she was doing cartwheels(侧手翻) on the playground at the age of 7, a PE teacher saw her. He told her family that she was very good and advised Nadia to train in the capital of Romania. Although it was a long way from her home, Nadia went because she loved gymnastics. 

After that, she trained hard and took part in lots of competitions. Later, she was named as one of the Athletes of the 20th Century. 

In 1976, Nadia went to the Olympics in Canada. She was so fantastic in the competition that everyone waited for the score, a high score. But the scoreboard showed 1. 00!

Everyone was surprised. There wasn't a sound for a moment. Then a voice came, " Ladies and gentlemen, Nadia Comaneci. . . 10!"

The audience(观众) cheered very loudly. So what happened? Well, when the scoreboard was built, no one thought a score of 10. 00 was possible. The decimal point(小数点) was in the wrong place! In fact, the scoreboard only had three digits(数位) to show scores, such as 9. 50 or 9. 85 at that time. 

In the 1976 Summer Olympics, Nadia Comaneci scored a perfect 10, which was thought impossible before. From then on, she was looked as a hero. In 1984, she got retired(退休的). 

Zhao Jihong used to be a famous Chinese sportswoman. Do you have the m{#blank#}1{#/blank#} of her? She won gold medals for China at the Paralympic Games. 

Zhao Jihong was blind(失明的) when she was born in 1968. After her a {#blank#}2{#/blank#} in running and jumping was noticed, she started training. As a blind girl, she s{#blank#}3{#/blank#} a lot while she was training. In April 1984, she went to train in Beijing and Tian Maijiu became her c{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. Tian used some special training m{#blank#}5{#/blank#} for her. She often trained hard without having a b{#blank#}6{#/blank#} even at noon. 

In June 1984, 16-year-old Zhao Jihong was sent to the 7th Summer Paralympic Games in New York. She won a gold medal for China and broken the world record in the long jump. She also won medals in other r{#blank#}7{#/blank#}. In 1986, she made a d{#blank#}8{#/blank#} to work in a factory. She also trained hard. In 1988, she won two gold medals in the 8th Summer Paralympic Games. Chinese people took P{#blank#}9{#/blank#} in her. She was c{#blank#}10{#/blank#} to be a symbol of courage and success in the 1980s. 

It is very important for us students to keep safe both in and out of school. Last week it was reported that five students went swimming in a small river because of the hot weather. Unluckily, they all died from drowning(溺水). Their parents and relatives were in great sadness for losing their loved ones. It is really a pity that they didn't realize the dangers of swimming in wild rivers.

If we are careful enough, some serious accidents can be avoided. Here are three suggestions for you to keep safe next time you go swimming.

First, wear a life buoy(救生圈). When you want to go swimming, you'd better put on a life buoy. A life buoy with a belt will keep you much safer.

Second, go with an adult(成年人). Your father or coach have much more experience than you. They will keep you safe all the time.

Third, don't go to the wild river or the place you don't know very well. If you really want to go swimming, you can go to the swimming pool nearby. And it will not cause too much money.

For your health, don't do dangerous things.
