Today is my birthday and I am having a great time at the zoo with my dad. 

There are many lovely animals in the zoo, like monkeys, pandas and giraffes. I see some people feeding them with our food. I'm going to fed them. "It is not right to feed them with our food, " he says. 

"Why shouldn't I do so?" I turn to my dad and ask him. 

"Because it can make them sick when they are not getting the right food. For example, chocolate is children's favorite, but it is not good for many animals. So we should protect them and feed them with their own food. " he explains.

Almost all animals need to sleep, but some have special ways.

The albatross（信天翁）is one of the largest flying birds. They fly in the sky for months without getting to the ground. They can fly about 22,000 kilometers around the Earth in 46 days! They sometimes even sleep when they are flying.

A flamingo（火烈鸟） can sleep when standing on one leg. The standing leg always stays in the water. The other le g stays close to its body. Its head lies on its back.

Horses often sleep when standing up. If a horse lies down, it needs a long time to get up. A standing horse can escape more quickly when it sees dangerous things. And horses only need about three hours of sleep a day.

Giraffes sleep the shortest time. They sleep about 30 minutes a day, and 5 minutes at a time. They lie down when they sleep. They put their heads on their bodies or on the ground. What an interesting way of sleeping!

Guangzhou is a wonderful place for traveling and there are a lot of things to do. You will find many large department stores in the city. You will also find small shops near the train station. In the evening, you can take a boat trip to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Guangzhou from the river. At night, tourists can enjoy eating tasty food on the streets because the food there is cheap and yummy.

Let's meet the mascot (吉祥物) —Phryges first. It is red, white and blue. It has big blue eyes. It is cute and everybody likes it. Phryges wears blue trousers and looks like a cap. It is also in the famous cartoon The Smurfs.

And many Chinese people go to Paris to see Chinese players in this Olympic Games. Pan Zhanle is one of the most famous players because he wins (赢) the first place of the swimming game. Many students likes him after watching his game. After Li Wenwen wins the women's +81kg title, Chinese players wins 91 medals (奖牌) in this Olympic game and 40 of them are gold medals.

Olympic Games make people love sports. Come and play the sports you like !

If you didn't know my father well, you might think that he was a serious man. But he wasn't. He was actually a wildly funny person What made him appear so serious was the fact that he never smiled with his mouth. He did it all with his eyes. And you could see a tiny golden light dancing in the middle of each eye.

My father was not what you would call an educated man and I doubt if he had read twenty books in his life. But he was a talented story-teller. He used to make up a bedtime story for me every single night, and the best ones were turned into serials(续集).

One of them was about an enormous man called BiGi. He was three times as tall as an ordinary man and his hands looked like bike wheels.

"BiGi lives in an underground cave and has a factory where he makes magic powder (粉末) that out of the dreams that children make when they are asleep," my father's stories continued. "he then carries the powder and blows it through a child's window and the powder floats around the room…and the child breathes it in…"

"And then what?" I asked.

"And then. Danny. the child begins to have a fantastic dream and when the dream reaches its most fantastic moment.. then the magic powder really takes over….and suddenly the dream is not a dream any longer but a real happening" 

Once I fell asleep as my father had hoped. he would kiss me good night and turned down the lamp. I could feel the love in his smiling eyes as I started my dream.
