During the summer holiday when I was 14 years old, I got my first job.

At first, I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(更喜爱;钟爱) to stay at home, but my mother asked me to work in her Nursing Home. I was very {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(紧张的),because I didn't know {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(是否) I could do it well or not. My mother said I just needed to copy what other workers there did.

Luckily, I learned quickly. In the morning, I helped the people sweep the floor and clean the {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(隔板;架子) in rooms. After dinner, I helped some old people go out of the room and sit in the garden. Some of them were too {#blank#}5{#/blank#} (弱的;虚弱的) to walk themselves.

I could {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (几乎不;几乎没) believe that I finished all my work and the people there liked me a lot. For me, {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(对待;看待) the people with kindness made me feel proud of myself. After working there for a month, I got paid! But making money wasn't the main {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(意图;目的) of my working there. I was happy to learn to look after others and see them get {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(健康的) again. From {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(当时;那时) on, I decided to be a doctor. And now I've already achieved my dream.

David said, "The other boys kept looking down as they climbed. When they learned how high they were, they got scared and were afraid of falling down. But I only looked up. When I saw how close I was, I kept climbing. " It's true in life that if we keep moving forward (向前) without looking back, we will get close to our dreams.

This morning I got an email from Roy. It seems that my boy really enjoys his new life at Harvard University. The 1  made me think of the first day when we moved into this house.
