① As Daddy's only daughter, I know what makes my Daddy more fantastic than all the other fathers — his big hands.

② Daddy has smart hands that can make lots of paper toys for me to play with. His hands can also make my hair beautiful. That's why I feel happy when other students talk about my hairstyle. I keep it to myself for years. What's more, his hands can paint a second-hand bike to look new. I get one on my tenth birthday. His hands can cook a delicious and colorful meal in minutes. I feel interested in watching his hands work. 

③ Daddy's creative hands are also useful and hard-working. They can fly a kite high in the sky and get it down from the top of a tree. They can wash my white dress clean, which becomes my favorite one. To my surprise, those hands could feed seven children after Mom died (死亡) . It is his feelings that show what he really is, far more than his abilities (能力).

④ Not only are Daddy's hands great, they can also send me a note full of love. When I am ill, he makes me feel better. He will take a small blanket (毯子), warm it up and put it around my small cold feet with his loving hands. They seem to know I am feeling terrible before I can cry (哭). When I am worried about something, Daddy will often hand me a cup of hot milk and sit next to me. He will say, "The best is always to come, my dear."

⑤ The more I read Daddy's hands, the more stories I get from them. Daddy's hands are fantastic. They have the knowledge (知识) and power to move mountains. They make the impossible possible (可能) .

Life is like the four seasons. Now I am very old, but when I am young, it is the spring of my life. I play a lot, and I grow bigger and bigger day by day. There are sweet days and heartbroken (心碎的) days. Some days the sun shines. I have a good job. I am strong and happy. Then I marry (结婚) and have a child. In those days, I am busy and work hard. I start to get gray hair. It's the summer of my life and it passes quickly.

Then the days get shorter. Leaves fall down from the trees. My child is a university（大学） student and then an engineer. My home is much quieter. I start walking more slowly. One day I leave my job, and I retire. I have more time. I know this is my autumn, a beautiful time when the trees change colour and give people delicious fruit. But the days are getting shorter and colder. Winter comes. I am older and weaker. I know I do not have many days, so I will enjoy them to the end.

There was once a young mouse that lived in a hole（洞）in a wall. He thought he was a smart and careful animal. 

One day, the young mouse woke up（唤醒）from his sleep and looked out of the hole. As he looked out, a nice 1 came to him. " Cheese" the mouse said happily to himself, "I'll go and 2 it now and have it for breakfast."

But then he remembered his parents 3 . His parents were very wise mice and often said to 4 son, "Always wait before you go for a piece of cheese."

So the young mouse waited quietly. Then he heard a quiet " Miaow" and he knew the cat was there. So he stayed in the hole and said to himself, "I'm happy I 5 my parents` advice and learned to wait."

The next day, he 6 again. At the same time, he put his nose out of the hole slowly, and the same smell came again. This time he could see the cheese! It was only a few centimeters away, 7 be sat still and waited in his hole It's 8 that he did not hear any cat noises. Instead he heard a very quiet "Woof, woof ", a sound just like from a dog. 

"Oh, it's a dog!" he thought, "If the dog is there, the cat won't be there. I expect the dog has chased（追赶）the cat away. So I am 9 ." The mouse ran out of the hole and started eating the cheese. He did not see the cat, which caught him and ate him later. When the cat finished her meal," she said to herself, "I'm glad I listened to my parents and leaned a second 10 . Sometimes, it can really make a difference."

Su Shi, also known as Su Dongpo, was an outstanding Chinese poet ( 政治家), who lived during the Song Dynasty from 1037 to 1101. 

Su Shi was born into a well﹣known family in Meishan, Sichuan province. His father and brother were both great poets. Su Shi showed great talent from a young age and was known for his skills in handwriting and painting. At the age of 20, Su Shi successfully passed the imperial ( 科 举 ), Su held a number of different government positions across China. However, his different opinions often got him into trouble because of disagreements at court, he was exiled (流放) three times. In 1079, Su Shi was even sent to prison. Although he got out of prison at last, Su Shi's literary(文学） talent continued to shine, and he produced a great number of' poetic works during his lifetime. In 1080, he found peace in nature and produced some of his best works. The famous poem, "Red Cliff", was one of them. Su Shi's talent was beyond poetry, as he was also a great prose writer. His article "On the Love of the Lotus" shows his love for the beauty of the flower. In addition, his collection of short stories shows his humour and wisdom. 

It was not only in the literary field that Su Shi was highly praised. As an official, he won the love and support of the people. During his services, he did a lot for the people. In 1077, he protected the city from a terrible flood. The people in Xuzhou were thankful to him and gave him some food as presents. 

Although Su Shi's life was filled with both achievements and troubles, he is remembered as one of the greatest people in Chinese history, and his creative talents and strong spirit continue to influence and guide people around China. 

My friend Alice visited me last week. She arrived in Hong Kong on Wednesday morning. She came from Australia. I showed her around. 

We visited the Clock Tower first. The Clock Tower was very tall. We took some photos there. Then we went to Hong Kong Science Museum. After that, we saw a good movie. 

The next day, we visited the Ladies' Market （女人街）. There were a lot of clothes shops. The clothes were cheap and beautiful. Alice bought some clothes for her parents and friends. Then we went to the Dried Seafood Street. We bought some seafood. We also had seafood in a restaurant. Both of us enjoyed the food. Then we went to a concert （音乐会） in the evening. The music was fantastic （极好的）！

On the third day, the weather was very hot, so we decided to visit Hong Kong Wetland Park. We saw many kinds of plants and animals in it. They were very interesting. Alice went back to Australia on Friday evening. She enjoyed the trip. She invited （邀请） me to visit Australia next summer. 

Tao Tao is a 17-year-old boy. He was born with cerebral palsy(脑瘫). But he never gave up hope and has tried his best to feed himself. He sells self-made popcorn on the street on his own. And this touches the hearts of many people and wins him a chance to get education(教育). 

 Yao Chuanhua, Tao Tao's mother, taught her son to live on himself at the very beginning. She taught Tao Tao how to make popcorn at home and helped set up a shop in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou city of East China's Zhejiang province. At first, Tao Tao didn't know how to sell and few people bought his popcorn. To make him feel confident, the mother even paid some passersby (路人) to buy popcorn from her son's shop. Finally, the shy boy became active and confident. Now he runs the shop on his own very well. 

Yao is proud(自豪的) of Tao Tao, so she shared videos of her son's popcorn selling story online. People were touched by the story and some travelled from far away to buy popcorn from Tao Tao. Many people wanted to give money to Tao Tao, but Yao refused. "I hope that one day my son could live on his own. " Yao says. 

The online videos also drew the attention of local special schools. After learning about the boy's situation, they decided to send some local special education teachers to offer him door-to-door teaching. On November 19th, Tao Tao took the classes for the first time at home. The classes will continue regularly in the future although he has no classmates to study with.
