It was very cold, Amaya was warm in her house, thinking about an article she'd read at school. The article was about kids who 1 out their communities, and she thought it would be really cool to help her own town, Harvard.

    The only2 was that she wasn't sure how to help. In the article, the kids had grown food for people who needed food, but it was winter. She couldn't start a garden. Amaya was deep in thought when her mom said it was time to go shopping.

    As they drove along the road, Amaya saw a family wearing only light jackets. The cold wind blew 3 outside. How cold they must be! That gave her an idea! She could 4  winter coats, hats and gloves for people who needed them.

    She shared her idea with her mom, who thought it was great. But how would they 5 the idea to get plenty of winter clothing? Amaya decided to talk to her teacher, because then she could share her idea with her classmates at least.

    Ms. Monroe agreed when Amaya talked about her idea. They decided to call the 6  Hats in Harvard. Then they wrote a letter explaining the project. They also met with the headmaster during lunch time. He was excited about the idea, and said he would make sure copies (复印件) of the letter went home with all the students.

    They collected enough winter clothing in only one week. Then they left the clothes around two parks, so families who needed clothes could get them there. Three days later, Amaya and her mom went shopping again. She saw the same family that had given her the7for Hats in Harvard.  This time, though, the family wore some new coats, hats and gloves. Amaya felt 8 in her heart, and was very glad she could help others.

One Thursday afternoon, when I was in Grade 7, a new boy came into my classroom. He was short and thin. He walked up to the teacher and told her, very seriously, that he was new. His name was Christian. He sat down, took a look at me, and then looked away. I didn't think he was very nice and I was sure he wasn't the type I would like to become friends with.

During that year, I didn't talk to him much, but he smiled at me when our eyes met, always shyly. He never ate lunch with anybody, and he never talked to anybody but me.

But one day I joined those unkind kids who were making fun of him. We made fun of him though I thought it was wrong. 

"Haven't you got any friends? " a kid asked Christian, who had walked past us alone, head down.  "No, he hasn't got any friends. He's too stupid and shy. " I said. Then Christian looked up at me with the saddest dog eyes I had ever seen. I felt very sorry at that moment.

That night, I couldn't sleep because I couldn't get Christian's face out of my mind. In the weeks that followed, he never met my eyes in class and never smiled at me. It was really hard for me to decide to write him a note asking him to forgive（原谅）me. But I thought I should. 

The next day in class, I wrote him a note telling him how sorry I felt. About five minutes later, I turned and saw tears in his eyes. "You will never realize (意识到) what your apology（道歉）has meant to me, Jimmy, "he said to me. "I hope we can become friends. "

We had lunch together that noon and we had the best talk I had ever had. Over the years at high school, we were close friends.

When I think back, I realize that, if I had not apologized, I would never have known what a lovely person Christian was.

Apologies can really change your life, so never miss the chance to tell somebody you are sorry.

I still remember it was an early autumn. Some {#blank#}1{#/blank#} started to turn yellow and the weather got cool. One day, as I was getting ready for school, my mother carelessly handed me my father's vest (背心) instead of {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. At that time, I was getting to have a {#blank#}3{#/blank#} size than my father, so when I put on the vest, I felt as if I wasn't able to breathe! I realized that it was a small mistake which was {#blank#}4{#/blank#} by my mother, but somehow the breathless feeling was so strong that it made me very angry. My mother said sorry with a smile, but I shouted at her {#blank#}5{#/blank#} thinking much. I got it off my body so wildly that I made a hole in it. I put on my own vest and rushed out of the house {#blank#}6{#/blank#} my mother could stop me.

Later, my mother shared her bad feelings with my father, "See what your son has done." Instead of saying he would scold (责备) or beat me, my father {#blank#}7{#/blank#} asked my mother to mend (修补) the vest. Later when my mother told me about this, I felt ashamed (惭愧的). My father's gentle kindness {#blank#}8{#/blank#} me a lesson which I would never forget.

On that day, I decided not to let anger {#blank#}9{#/blank#} me any more. When I'm angry, I {#blank#}10{#/blank#} to remember my dad's vest. It reminds me to think about others' feelings when I'm angry.

My Hobby

I have many bobbies. such as reading, skating, and watching TV. 

 Once upon a time, the colors of the world started to argue. All said that they were the best, the most useful, and the most beautiful. 

 Green said, "Clearly I'm the most important. As the sign of life and hope, I'm chosen for grass, trees and leaves. Without me, all the animals would die. Look over the countryside and you will see me almost everywhere. "

 Blue interrupted(打断), "You only think about the earth, but consider the blue sky and the blue sea. The sky gives space and peace. Water of life comes from the deep sea. Without my peace, you would all be nothing. "

 Yellow laughed, "You' re all so serious. I bring laughter, joy and warmth into the world. The sun is yellow, the moon is yellow, and the stars are yellow. Without me, there would be no fun. "

 Orange started telling stories, "I'm the color of health and strength. I don't hang around all the time, but when I fill the sky at sunrise or sunset, my beauty is so fantastic that no one gives another thought to any of you. "

 Red also shouted out, "I'm the ruler of you all. I'm blood— life's blood! I'm the color of love, passion(激情) and bravery(勇敢). I'm willing to fight for anything. Without me, the earth would be as empty as the moon. "

 Purple rose up to his full height, "Kings and leaders have always chosen me for I'm the sign of power. People never question me! They listen and obey. "

 Suddenly a rainstorm started to pour down heavily. All the colors calmed down. "You are foolish colors, " Rain began to speak. "Don't you know that you were each made for a special purpose, unique and different? Join hands with one another and come to me. "

 Doing as they were told, the colors joined hands. Rain continued, "From now on, when it rains, each of you will make up a rainbow in the sky to remind that you can all live in peace. "

 The rainbow is a sign of hope for tomorrow. It always lets us remember to thank one another. 

Wonderful Park has finally reopened after nearly three months of repair! Since my sister Julia's birthday is coming, yesterday my parents took us to the park to have some fun. Julia was very excited as she had never been to Wonderful Park before.

 We arrived at the park early in the morning. While we were buying tickets at the ticket office, Julia was told that she could enjoy free admission during her birthday month. She could also get some pins and stickers for free. Julia was over the moon with her birthday presents. After buying our tickets, Julia wanted to ride the Ferris wheel. However, Mum suggested going to the King's Theatre first as a musical was about to begin.

 We were attracted by the delicious smell of popcorn while we were on the way to the King's Theatre. We bought two bags of chocolate popcorn and it tasted good. Before we entered the theatre, there were two cartoon characters standing at the entrance. They were lovable so Julia and I took some photos with them. The show began at ten forty-five. Though I am not a big fan of musicals, it was really great. All the performers sang and danced well. There was a huge round of applause when the show ended. Then, we went to the ride. It was the last stop and also the most enjoyable part of our trip.

 Here are the photos we took. The first one shows the chocolate popcorn. It was yummy! Next are the photos we took at the entrance of the King's Theatre. The cartoon characters are giving me and Julia a big hug! Here comes the photo that I like best. We took this after we rode on the Ferris wheel. Dad is putting his arm around Mum's shoulders. Julia is making a V sign with her fingers and I am making a silly face. It is a nice family photo. We all look forward to visiting the park again!
