I love bedtime stories. I can never fall asleep without having my bedtime stories. Every day, I can have two stories, one in English and one in Japanese.My mom's first language is Japanese and my dad's first language is English.Usually, Dad reads an English story to me first. Then it's Mom's turn to read me a Japanese story. In my family, though both my parents can speak the two languages very well, we speak English more often than Japanese, so I find listening to Japanese stories challenging. I ask many questions when Mom reads Japanese stories to me.

Mom is not very happy about my Japanese and she is thinking about sending me to a Sunday school to learn Japanese. I don't want to get too busy on Sunday. I need some playtime, so I tell Mom that I will read more Japanese books on weekdays. Mom agrees with me.

Everyone faces difficulties in their life. Daniel Kish was born with a special eye illness and lost his eyesight when he was only 14 months old. 

Soon after, however, he started to do an amazing thing. He learned to make clicks (咔哒声) with sonar (声呐) to help him move around. Kish now moves about using sonar. He is so good at it that he can ride a bicycle by himself on public roads. And he started the organization World Access for the Blind (WAFTB) in 2000, teaching others how to use sonar. In the interview with National Geographic, he explains how the sonar works. 

"When I make a click sound, it produces sound waves. These waves reflect (反射) off surfaces around and return to my ears. My brain then deals with the sound and turns it into pictures in my mind. Each click is like a camera flash, which helps me make a 3-D picture of my surroundings for hundreds of feet. It's like having a conversation with the environment. "

Kish feels it is exciting to ride a bike using sonar, although he needs to click twice a sound, much more than he usually does. "It may sound a bit dangerous to move around the world in this way, " he says. "But most people in the world live in fear of things that they imagine. I love hiking and mountain-biking. I go almost everywhere. And I've never had an accident and hurt myself. "

He is happy to be able to help more blind children to improve their life. "We've served over 10, 000 students in nearly 40 countries, " he tells the reporter. "Many students are surprised how quickly results come. Seeing isn't in the eyes. It's in the mind. "

It is very hot today. I didn't have enough water for me. I went to a house by the road for help. I couldn't speak any Chinese, but they understood! They gave me some water. To my surprise, they also asked me to stay for lunch. The food was so good!I love the special taste of China! How lucky（幸运的）I am!

Thursday 13 April

I am in Yunnan Province now. It's the Water- splashing Festival（泼水节）! People get together to celebrate（庆祝） the Dai New Year. They splash water on each other. To them, this will bring good luck to others. I get very wet. How lucky I am!

Can you imagine(想象) your life with no smartphones or TV? With no cars or supermarkets? Can you imagine life in a tree house?

 In her book, A life in the Trees, Rebecca Moore travels 15,000 kilometers from London to Papua New Guinea. In Papua New Guinea, Rebecca meets the Kombai people. She talks about their lives in the jungle(丛林).

 Moore lived with the Kombai women and children for three months. Kombai life is very different. The Kombai people have no watches and no cars. There is no school for the children. Parents teach their children to cook, hunt(狩猎) and swim.

 The Kombai get up every morning at sunrises. Kombai men hunt in the jungle. They can hunt for 12 hours. They also cut down sago palms(西米棕榈). This tree is important. The women cook the inside of the tree. The Kombai people eat this food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 The most important part of Kombai life is building their tree houses. The men, women and children all help build tree houses. Each house is 20 meters high. The stories in this book which has been written in Japanese and Chinese show the Kombai people's lives in the trees.

Brian looked at the ugly gray walls of his bedroom. Soon the hated walls would be covered, but not with paint as he had first planned. Brian had been disappointed to learn that the house owner would not allow painting. For weeks he was unable to understand: without using paint, how could he cover the walls? But, as Grandmother always said, "Necessity is the mother of invention." So Brian did some thinking, and with a little help from his mother, he came up with a great plan.

This morning, Mom had needed to stop at the mall to buy a book and Brian went along. There, Brian noticed a large poster of Harry Potter and the Hogwarts School on the wall. Next to it was a poster showing the cover of No Arm in Left Field, a baseball novel that Brian had read several times. "This is it," Brian thought excitedly. "I'll cover the walls with posters!"

When he left the mall, Brian had an armful of posters and a box of tacks (大头钉). At home, he headed straight to his room. First he took out the posters and spread them out on his bed, his desk, and most of the floor. Next he found out the size of each poster, and then the walls. He wanted to cover as much of those ugly walls as possible! It took all afternoon to work out the best preparation. He drew it on paper, making changes until it was just right. When Dad came home at dinnertime, Brian was ready to tack up the posters.

"Come see my room, Dad," called Brian. "It's going to be great!" But when Dad came into the bedroom, he looked worried. "The house owner said we could not put any holes in the walls. You can't use tacks, Brian. I am sorry."

Brian's joy slowly disappeared. He would stay with the boring gray walls forever. Maybe there was no way to solve this problem after all. How could you hang posters without using tacks? After all, posters would not stick to the walls by themselves!

"What would stick to the walls?" Brian wondered. Then he smiled. Tape, that's what! Brian took a piece of tape and made it into a circle. He made sure the sticky part of the tape was on the outside. This would work, for sure!

I'll travel to Australia with my family. Both my brother and I want to go to a country that is not hot in July. The temperature in this place at that time is about 15℃. 

We're going to stay there for one week. And we'll go there by plane. We must take our passports and ID cards. Then we drew a road map for our trip and marked the places and restaurants we wanted to visit. I also checked the weather for that week, because I need tō make sure it is sunny when we play on the beach. My parents booked a beautifulB&B(民宿). We can see the sea through the window of the B&B. 

I must take my camera to record(记录) our good travel moments. I will also send postcards to my good friends and share my travel experiences with them. I can't wait to go!
