More than two billion tons of rubbish is created around the world every year. Rubbish influences not only the environment but human health. To mark the World Earth Day, let's learn about the harm rubbish does and {#blank#}1{#/blank#}.
A history of rubbish
On the Greck island, waste was put in pits(坑) and covered with soil as far back as 5, 000 years ago. {#blank#}2{#/blank#} However, in many countries, waste was once just left in the streets. In the 19th century, governments realized this caused air pollution and spread discases.
Environmental problems
It is said that around one billion tons of waste are burned each year. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Burning waste can also produce chemicals that can make people ill. Landfill(废渣埋填法)also causes climate change and pollutes rivers where people get their drinking water.
The role of recycling
{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Rubbish that is recycled for future use won't go into landfills or be burned. Recycling allows the Earth's natural resources(资源) to be reused to make new products. Natural resources include fuels(燃料)under the ground like gas and oil, and things like fresh water for drinking.
{#blank#}5{#/blank#}

Nowadays,as there are more choices for students,some students can't stand food in the school dining hall and they call the takeout(卖) food. Many students like ordering food instead of eating at the school dining hall. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} The students can't choose what they want to eat. They can only eat the food provided by the dining hall.
{#blank#}2{#/blank#} The answer is no. Most students can't make money,but ordering food is a little expensive. {#blank#}3{#/blank#} Students only need to pay 10 yuan for one meal and there are always different dishes and one kind of soup. When ordering food,I have never found a dish which is less than 10 yuan,and the most important is that the food we order may be not clean.
As ordering takeout is getting more and more popular,many people may think it's a new thing in China. {#blank#}4{#/blank#} According to history books,Emperor Xiaozong liked to order takeout late at night. His servants then went around the city to pick up the dishes and bring them back to the palace.
Common people also ordered takeout. Restaurant waiters would go out into the streets and shout out which dishes could be ordered that day. People could then place an order. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}
