Beijingis the capital of China. It is a very1 city. Lots of people live and work there. Itusually takes them a long2toget to work.

Myfriend Zhang Yu works in a company (公司) in Beijing. Thecompany is3from his home. He goes to work either bybus4 bysubway. When he gets up early, he5the bus to work. His home is next to thefirst stop of the No. 456 bus. It is easy for him to get a seat (座位)6 the bus. But hespends (花费) two hours getting to the7. When hedoesn't get up early, he takes the subway. Ray was thought to be a strange boy. One day when he was flying his kite, he said to himself," Did anybody ever try to fly a kite at night? I think it must be very fun. But the kite can't be seen in the dark. What if I tie a light to it? That would be really good. I {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(try) it tonight."

As soon as it was dark, he {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(take) his kite and lantern, and went to a large field about a mile from his home. He tied the lantern to the tail of his kite. "Perhaps it's a big firefly (萤火虫) ,"said another,

"Maybe it's a comet (彗星),"said another man.

"How strange!" said a boy.

"Let's find out what this strange light{#blank#}6{#/blank#} (be)," the last one said. Then they went to the field.

Ray, who had gotten tired of standing, was sitting behind a tree. He{#blank#}7{#/blank#} (see) the men as they came, but they didn't see him. When they reached under the light, and saw what it was, they looked at each other and said, "There is nothing unusual {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(happen)! Let's keep the secret. "Then they laughed and went back to the village. When the men had gone, Ray thought it was time for him {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(go), so he went home, too. When his mother heard what he had done, she hardly knew whether to laugh or scold (责备), but just told him to go to bed.

Both my wife and I are running lovers. I usually run on the track (跑道) in my neighborhood. Most people walk on the track, so I am 1 than them. My speed seems amazing to the walkers and I often pass by them twenty or more times around the track. This makes 2 feel proud.

Chess Club You can join Chess Club on Monday afternoon. You can learn to think. You can meet some people having the same interests and it's easy for you to make friends with them. I think you can get on well with others. 

Skateboarding Club Skateboarding is one of the hottest sports in our school. It is a great sport and it's also an activity for fun. You learn to ride a skateboard there. You can play skateboard on the clean ground. Would you like to have a try? Bring a skateboard and join us every Wednesday!

Cooking Club Cooking Club is really cool. The classroom is on the first floor of the dining hall. You can learn how to cook and eat the right food. You can try different food and have a healthy eating habit. It will help you have more fun in your life. 

English Club English Club is really useful for you. There are many activities in the club. You can watch English films with the members. You can also read a lot of English books. You can even borrow them and take them home to read in your free time. In the club, you can talk with foreign (外国的) teachers. All the teacher would like to help you with your English.
