A Queensland teen has cut her beautiful 

1.2m-long ponytail(马尾辫) for the first time in her life. She wants to 1 others suffering from cancer (癌症) in memory of her grandmother.

Yasmine Brockhurst, 14,2 her long hair to Donate a Ponytail to help create wigs (假发).These wigs are3 for cancer patients experiencing hair loss during their treatment.

Carole Haddad is a hairdresser and4 is also a cancer fundraiser (筹款者) herself, She received the important5 of cutting off half of Yasmine's hair.

Yasmine is also raising money for cancer research. She said she was6 that money would go to cancer research, after the 7 of her grandmother from multiple(多种的) cancers.

"For my grandmother, the doctors didn't know what was8 the different cancers and how they were related (相关的), so I9 to get some money to help with cancer research. I've 10 raised $1,070."

Yasmine's hair was very 11 . She used to need an hour to 12 her hair, six hours to air-dry it and half an hour to make a ponytail. At that time, Yasmine was 13 for a baseball team.14 she loved her hair, she said it had affected (影响) her performance on the field.

Yasmine still misses her ponytail 15 time to time. But she knows what she did is meaningful and she is happy about it.

Anna comes from Russia. She is 17 years old. She is going to stay with the Black family for a year. They will form valuable  {#blank#}1{#/blank#} .Anna comes to England because she wants to study English. She hopes to make progress in English.

Anna is now in London. Everything is new to  {#blank#}2{#/blank#} . She finds life is different from that in Moscow. Some things are nice in London. However, many things are not so nice. The shops are  {#blank#}3{#/blank#} in London than those in Moscow. But it's very expensive to enjoy herself in London. It's expensive to have a meal at a restaurant  {#blank#}4{#/blank#} go to the cinema.

Now Anna has got used to many things. She helps Mrs Black with housework and goes to English classes on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. She enjoys studying with her classmates  {#blank#}5{#/blank#} groups. She expects to go back home with London's culture.

 Boys and girls, what sport do you like? Do you like skiing(滑雪)?I can't do it. It looks very difficult! Do you know Gu Eileen? She is a great ski player. Her father is American and her mother is Chinese.

 Now she is 20 years old. Why does she look beautiful and strong? First, she thinks good eating habits help her to be healthy. For breakfast, she likes eggs and milk. She has vegetables and chicken for lunch. For dinner, she likes salad and fish. Beijing duck is her favorite food but she doesn't eat too much. Second, when all her classes finish from Monday to Friday at school, she must do more sports.

 Gu wins two gold medals(奖牌) in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics(冬奥会). Now, she is a big star in China and in the world.

Here is a nice story about Kuang Heng. When he is young，his family is very poor. He has to do a lot of 1 in the day time. 

Kuang Heng is really2 in reading. But he has no money to buy books. What can he do？In his town，there is 3 rich man. The man has many books，but never reads 4 . Kuang tries to work5 the man for free. The man asks him why. Kuang says he only wants to read the rich 6 books. The man is moved and lets him 7 all the books. 

However，there is another problem for him. He doesn't have any candles（蜡烛），8 he can't read books at night. One day，he finds the light in the neighbor's（邻居的） home can help 9 to read. So，he chisels（凿） a crack（缝隙） in the wall to read books with the light next door. 

Kuang Heng studies really 10 every day. As time goes by，Kuang Heng becomes a great officer（官员） in his country. His story tells us that we can think of ways to work out our problems. 

Many students find it hard to make good friends. To solve the problem, I plan to share my advice. 

Find chances to meet people. For example, sit somewhere with others when you are at school, especially at lunchtime. It doesn't have to be a crowded table, but try to choose one with at least two other people. Remember: Friends never knock on your door when you stay at home. 

        ▲   Joining in club activities is a great way to find other people who have the same hobbies as you. If you enjoy listening to music or singing, joining a music club is a good choice. More importantly, you can make friends there. 

Volunteer(自愿) for a group you care about. By working together, you can build friendships with others. You may spend your time at a hospital helping the people in need with other warm-hearted friends.

 Sammie Vance, 14, knows there's nothing worse than being without friends. For years, she has been helping1 kids. She is running the Buddy Bench2 .

 Anyone who is alone could sit on the buddy bench. It tells other kids he or she needs a3 . It's helpful to make other people notice someone in need of care.

 Sammie thought about the Buddy Bench programme in 2017. First she introduced the 4 to her teachers and parents to get their support. But there have been small challenges, like5 . To make the cost less and be eco-friendly, Sammie decided to make the bench from recycled materials(回收材料). She called on people to 6 bottle caps. In the end, she got over 1200 pounds of them. A company called GreenTree Plastics recycled these into three benches. The benches 7 became popular and soon brought kids together. From then on, Sammi e helped communities(社区) around the country 8 buddy benches.

 Sammie has some changes herself. She has learned to accept her weakness and become a better person. "I used to be really 9 ," she says, "but I'm more outgoing now. It helps me10 in different parts of my life."

 Sammie's story shows helping people can start at any age. Even small acts of kindness can be powerful.
