Mary and Lisa are sisters. They like the same colour— blue. They like the same sports— swimming and basketball. They go to the same middle school. But they aren't in the same class. They like music and art. Art is their favourite subject. 

But Mary and Lisa have a big difference (不同之处) . Mary has many friends. They like to play with her. But Lisa doesn't have any friends. Their mum sees the difference. She says to Lisa, "My dear, your smile (微笑) is very beautiful. Why not smile often?" Lisa says OK and she tries smiling often. Children come to Lisa. They like her smile. They want to make friends with her. Now Lisa has many friends. She is very happy.

Clouds change every second, bringing nature's{#blank#}1{#/blank#}to us But can you see it?

Cloud spotting, by its name, is just looking at clouds. Some people do cloud spotting to simply relax {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. Others do it to try and better understand clouds, from their {#blank#}3{#/blank#} to their names. Ji Yun, 36, is a cloud spotting expert in Beijing. 

In October 2013, Ji got a message from a friend, {#blank#}4{#/blank#}that some rare (稀有的) clouds were heading toward southeastern Beijing. Ji then bought tickets and went on a high-speed train to chase after them. 

"As soon as I got the information, I{#blank#}5{#/blank#}out of my home. After guessing where they were likely to head. I took a train to Tianjin. In the end, I {#blank#}6{#/blank#} in taking several wonderful pictures in the Wuqing district of Tianjin, "Ji said. The cloud took pictures of{#blank#}7{#/blank#}out to be one of the world's top 10 rarest clouds. 

This experience made Ji famous among the cloud spotters. He set up a WeChat group later that {#blank#}8{#/blank#}year to put people with similar hobbies together. They then set up chat groups in 2019 to cover different areas of China. Now, there are plenty of cloud spotting chat groups. Together, they became known as the Sky Enthusiasts Association(天空爱好者协会). Three years after the association was set up, cloud lovers collected every kind of cloud in the International Cloud Atlas. The International Cloud Atlas is a reference (查阅) book made by the World Meteorological （气象）Organization. 

"We created a book with all of these {#blank#}9{#/blank#} photos. And then we published （出版) it in late 2023, " Ji said. "This is a gift to all{#blank#}10{#/blank#}who love clouds. "

Doing projects is a fun way to learn as I can practise what I have been taught. I enjoy hands-on learning as it keeps me 1 in what I am doing. By putting what I have learnt into practice, I can test my own knowledge to see 2 I have fully understood what was taught. Even if I make 3 , I can learn from them. 

Once, I was given a gardening project for 4 class. For the project, my classmates and I had to grow plants from seeds and note down their progress over a month. Our teacher 5 each of us basil（罗勒叶）seeds to plant in the school garden. Following her instructions, each of us wet some cotton wool, put it in a small container, placed our seeds into the soil and left it in our classroom. We then waited a few 6 for the seeds to come out. I checked my seeds every day and made sure 7 the cotton wool remained wet. My seeds finally 8 in 7 days, like our teacher said it would. 

9 , some of my classmates forgot about their seeds and did not wet the cotton wool every day, so their seeds took 10 to germinate（发芽）. After germination, we placed the seedlings 11 the soil in the school garden and watered them every day. As basil seeds grow easily in tropical climates, the seedlings grew 12 . At the end of the month, most of us had fully-grown basil plants that were ready to be harvested. Our teacher allowed us to harvest the leaves and bring them home. I ended up eating it with some pasta my father made. I really 13 the gardening project as it helped me to familiarize 14 with the different growth stages of plants and how different elements like moisture and sunlight affect its growth. It was very satisfying to enjoy the fruits of my labor. 

Obviously, completing a project successfully 15 build up a teenager's confidence and can give them a sense of achievement, which can not only have a positive impact on their self-esteem but bring in great fun.

I want to say"Thank you!"to my mother. I think my mother is one of the best mothers in the world. 

Four months ago, I failed {#blank#}1{#/blank#} important test and felt really sad. I cried and didn't want {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(eat). My mother is always busy but she {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(care) about my study and she is strict with me. At {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(one), she was angry. I was so afraid. {#blank#}5{#/blank#} after a while, something changed. My mother came to touch {#blank#}6{#/blank#} (I) head. She sat beside me and listened to my worries patiently. "This result is not important. The road of life is long, "she said. "I believe you can make progress if you work harder. " My {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(mother) words warmed my heart. At last, I smiled at her happily. After that, she helped me practise and {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(teach) me a lot from then on. With her help and support, I do much {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(good) in school. 

I deeply thank my mother. {#blank#}10{#/blank#} her help, I couldn't change so fast. She is also happy about my growth. I think she is wise and patient. I will love her forever. 

In the town of Calan Five, everyone had wings (翅膀). Flynn 1 being the best flyer in town. However, he had to wait for the day he turned nine years old because his wings would be big enough to fly that day. 

When the day 2 came, Flynn ran to the open field, moved his wings, and flew off the ground. But soon he noticed something strange. He was slowly going down until his feet hit the grass.
