Last month, we held an English Week at school. There were a lot of activities in it. It i{#blank#}1{#/blank#} English Book Fair, English Speaking Competition and English Play. Believe it or not? I acted as Snow White in an English play. In the beginning, I was very shy. I was not c{#blank#}2{#/blank#} on the stage. I spoke in a low voice. However, as the seven dwarfs (七个小矮人) sang and danced, I became relaxed. They were so f{#blank#}3{#/blank#} that the audience laughed again and again. Finally, we won the first p{#blank#}4{#/blank#}. We were so excited because we were the best!

The English Week provided us with a chance to i{#blank#}5{#/blank#} our English. Most of us are better at English than before. It's really cool!

"Dear stranger, I'm inviting you to hear my goals I' ve never shared with anyone before. I would like to be active. I want to achieve..."

 This heartfelt(诚挚的) message {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(write) on a sanitary bag ofa high-speed train by a college girl. The next day, a passenger in the same seat discovered the message.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} passenger posted it online with a reply, "How {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(luck) we are to meet across time and space! I hope you can do well in the interview. I wish you all the best." This communication{#blank#}4{#/blank#}(catch) people' s attention and touched their hearts. The sanitary bag became the carrier of the college girl's dream and hope.

 Under the post, people shared their views, and many college students also expressed their{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(feel) about school interviews. Later, the college girl read the post and shared {#blank#}6{#/blank#} she did it. She was nervous on her way to an important school interview, {#blank#}7{#/blank#} she wrote the message to pour out her feelings. The good news is that she has been admitted (录取) to her dream school. And she thanked the stranger for his encouragement {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (polite) and hoped other students could go to their dream schools, too. The railway staff explain that if the sanitary bags{#blank#}9{#/blank#} messages are intact(完好无损的) and clean , they usually do not replace them. "We hope these special notes on sanitary bags can brighten {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(passenger) journeys," says a staff person.

 So what do you do with the sanitary bag when you take the high-speed train? Have you ever had any special communication with strangers?

 For as long as humans have appeared, we have been the smartest species(物种) on Earth. Monkeys know how to use simple tools. Elephants can be taught how to count. But things like art, literature, the Internet, and space travel have only been made possible by the amazing intelligence(智力) of humans. And yet, there are some who believe that we can create machines that can think and feel just like we do. Artificial intelligence, or AI, is defined (定义) by Merriam - Webster as"the ability of a machine to copy intelligent human behaviour".

AI is around us every day. From Apple's voice-activated assistant Siri to the software algorithms(算法) that shipping companies use to deal with deliveries,AI is very much a part of our lives.

 But why do we try hard to create machines that can think the way we do? AI can make our lives much easier. Imagine being able to be in a car, tell it the place and sit back in comfort as the AI - guided self- driving car takes you there. We' re already getting there—— Changsha became the first city in China to roll out self - driving taxis in April 

2020. Moreover, AI can control lighting, temperature, and security systems, making homes more comfortable and energy - saving.

 However, there are risks (风险) . What if we somehow produced an artificial intelligence that was smarter than us? Would they control us? Would they take away our jobs? These are difficult questions that AI researchers ask themselves all the time.

 Except for the risks, it has been already clear that Al is here to stay. Only time will tell if it will lead us into a new age of prosperity(繁荣) , or be our end.
