My mother only has one eye. I don't want her to show up (出现)at my school.

One day I am ill. My mother comes. "Your mom only has one eye!" yell some of my classmates. I wish my mother will disappear(消失).

"If you embarrass(使——尴尬) me, why don't you just die?" I shout at her. My mother is very sad, she just hands me some medicine and leaves(离开) without saying anything.

I don't think I hurt her feeling very much. I see my mom crying(哭) in her room. Even so, I hate her tears from one eye. I make a decision：I must study hard and leave my mother.

Years later my dream comes true. I am quite successful(成功的) but I don't go to see my "ugly" mother. One day I get a letter from my mother.

"My son I am sorry I only have one eye. When you are two years old, you are ill and lost your eye. As a mom, I can't let you live with only one eye. So I give you my eye. I am not angry with you and I never regret(后悔) it because I love you." I cry aloud. How beautiful my mother is!

Many people enjoy watching movies in a cinema. They think the cinema has a better atmosphere（气氛）to enjoy the movie. However, I think people are happier and freer when watching movies at home. 

Watching movies at home is more comfortable. To watch movies in a cinema, you have to buy a ticket before you go there for a better seat. However, there is no need for people at home to worry about the ticket. They can enjoy movies at any time they like and with the most comfortable seat. What's more, people watching movies at home wouldn't have to face any traffic problems. 

It is free to watch movies at home. In the cinema, we can't go outside and do something else because the movie won't wait for us. Sometimes we miss part of the movie. At home, we can pause（暂停）at any time and go back to watch the part. 

All in all, a cinema is a good place to watch movies, but it isn't the best place to enjoy the movies. I think watching movies at home is better. 

Five years ago, my mother, gave birth to a brother for me when I was 8. I have learned a lot from getting along with him. 

After he was born, I almost became a babysitter. I had to amuse him after school. I would make faces and sing to him when he was crying. Sometimes I even carried him everywhere in our yard to refresh him while my parents were busy. What I liked to do best was to feed him when looking after him. How cute he was as he tasted his favorite food! My parents often praised me happily, " As an elder brother, you've made contributions to looking after your younger brother. "

I have got happiness from sharing. When I was young, I was the only child in my family. I could get what I wanted from my parents and get my parents' whole love. I was a "Little Emperor". 

But now, as long as I get something good, I will share it with him. I remembered the year when he was three, he was fond of Rubik's cubes(魔方). I bought one for him with my lucky money as a birthday present When he got the toy, he was so happy that he laughed, hugged me and said, "Brother, I love you!

Thanks for spending these years together, with my family. It has taught me what responsibility means, what unselfishness means and what friendship means. 

Not only should I look after myself, but also I should pay attention to my family and my friends.

Eskimos live near the North Pole(北极). There are only two seasons there, winter and summer. There is no spring or autumn there. The winter nights are long. You can't see the sun for more than two months, even at midday. The summer days are long. For more than two months, the sun never goes down and there's no night. 

Eskimos have warm clothes. They make their clothes from the skins(皮毛)of animals. From skins they make coats, caps and shoes. 

Near the North Pole trees can't grow, for it is too cold there. The Eskimos have to make their houses from skins, snow or stone. When they get out in storms and can't get back home, they make houses of snow. They leave these houses when the storm is over. 

Life is hard for the Eskimos, but they still like to live there. 

On the night of Aug 11, the Paris Olympics Games closed with an amazing ceremony(闭幕式). As the first game started on July 24, around 10, 500 athletes from more than 200 countries and places competed at the biggest sports event in the world. 

Success and breakthroughs（突破）

In Paris, many unforgettable moments felt like dreams coming true. China's Olympic team had a fantastic performance, winning 40 gold, 27 silver, and 24 bronze. Chinese divers and table tennis players swept all the gold medals in their sports. In swimming, Chinese swimmer Pan Zhanle, 20, set a new world record of 46. 40 seconds in the men's 100-meter freestyle, making history. Zheng Qinwen, 21, won China's first Olympic gold in tennis singles on August 3.

In addition to their outstanding athletic performances, the Olympic athletes in Paris will be remembered for their exceptional sportsmanship. After winning silver in women's singles badminton, China's He Bingjiao, 27, carried a Team Spain Olympic pin with her onto the podium (领奖台). She wanted to show respect for her semifinal (半决赛) competitor Carolina Marin. She wasn't able to continue her game because of her knee injury. He Bingjiao touched millions of people.
