With a habit of drinking coffee on weekends while doing schoolwork, Wu Zibo, a 17-year-old student from Beijing No. 1 High School, wanted to order a cup of Moutai-flavored latte ( 茅台味拿铁 ). "I wonder how my father's favorite Chinese strong drink would taste with my favorite coffee, " Wu told China Daily (中国日报).

Moutai-flavored latte craze shows a team-up business pattern (团队经营

模式) in China. The team-up between Kweichow Moutai and Luckin Coffee has interested many people. It sold 5. 42 million cups and made 100 million yuan just on Sept. 4, the first day it came out, China Daily reported. 

Moutai has tried many ways in recent years to be more creative, such as by bringing out Moutai ice cream and canvas bags. "This creative team-up lets Moutai make its brand（品牌) younger, "Li Honghui, a marketing director for drinks, shared with China Daily. "Through team-up, brands can make the market bigger, and bring more new things to buyers", added Li.

In 2023, China's team-up market will grow to over 100 billion yuan and may reach 300 billion yuan by 2025, according to China Quality Daily. However, wrong team-up may have undesirable results and even hurt brands. "The secret to making a team-up successful is about how good the products are. The brands should not just pay attention to getting the people excited, "said Li.

A barking (吠)dog does not bite (咬)

Tom is a little boy of eight. His father is a doctor. He works in a hospital. He is often very busy (忙).{#blank#}1{#/blank#} After dinner, he says to Tom, "Tom, it's a nice evening. Put on your cap and coat.{#blank#}2{#/blank#}."

Tom is very glad.{#blank#}3{#/blank#} He puts on his cap and coat and says, "Dad, I am ready." Then Tom and his father go out to the park. Suddenly, they see a big, black dog.{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Tom is very afraid (害怕) of the dog. He wants to run home. His father, says, "{#blank#}5{#/blank#} Don't you know the proverb (谚语), ‘A barking dog doesn't bite'?"

"Oh, yes! Dad," says Tom. "I know the proverb, you know the proverb, but does the dog know the proverb?"

Many westerners find it interesting that Chinese people always carry a vacuum cup (保温杯) .If you go to a western restaurant, they usually serve you a cup of cold water with ice. And when you ask if they can change to hot water, you may receive a strange look from the waiter or people nearby. Hot water? Seriously?

So hot water VS cold water, which one is better?

By 1930s, the water supplies(供水) was polluted. In order to prevent people from diseases, the government suggested drinking boiled water, because they considered it a way to kill off bacteria (细菌).

People at that time always boiled water and stored it in vacuum bottle to keep it warm for the day. Even now, you can find hot water everywhere, in schools, factories, and offices across the country. While for western countries, many people died of the plague (鼠疫) .They took water quality seriously from then on, so that people can drink water directly rather than boil it.

You may also discover that Chinese people prefer hot meals. Some parents always teach their children to drink hot soup with meals, because they think mixing cold water with hot meals is really bad for the stomach, and cold water may cause digestive (消化) problems, while hot water helps digestion.

According to the eating habits in western countries, they prefer "raw" food, so they also prefer their water "raw". They also like hamburgers and fried food, which are all with high calorie (高热量), so they need cold drinks to cool them off.

Drinking hot or cold water also has something to do with medicine beliefs. In traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese people consider drinking hot water increases blood circulation (循环) and washes away the coldness in one's body, and thus eases pain. However, most westerners believe that drinking hot water may weaken your body. Drinking hot water too often will make your body unable to stand water below your body temperature.

You may find out that there is no answer to this question. The causes are various, so don't feel strange next time you see a Chinese ask for hot water, just show your respect.

If you have no special plans for your holidays, why not spend your time helping others?

Some people say that young people today often think only of themselves. It's not true at all, more and more young people in the USA volunteer (当志愿者) to spend their school holidays working for others. And they don't do it for money. Here are some of their stories. 

Alice Hamilton, 17

I'm going to help the Forest Center build new hiking paths (徒步小径) in the mountains. It's going to be wonderful. I will spend the whole summer living in a tent (帐篷) and breathing the fresh mountain air. I'm going to sleep under the stars. It will be a nice sport, and I will be able to do some- thing good at the same time!

Jason Moore, 18

This summer I'll volunteer with Special House Program. They build good, low- cost houses and sell them to the poor. They'll teach me what to do, so I am going to help people and also have a chance to learn how to build houses. 

Trish Anderson, 16

I'm going to teach children who have difficulty in reading. I'll work for a program called Reading for Life. Every day, I'm going to help children choose and read books that they like. I want to be a teacher and I love children and reading, so this is going to be a great experience for me. 

What's an American school like? There are some buildings in it, two classroom buildings, an office building, a science building, a sports hall, a dining hall and a big library. Every school has a big playground too. There are lots of trees and flowers in it, so some schools looks like parks. Many students like to read under trees. 

There are 20 or 30 students in a class. In the classroom, five or six students sit together as a group. Every student has a box. They can place their books and clothes in it. 

Students have six or seven classes every day. They study science, math, English and other lessons. Students go to different classrooms for every class. That's because every teacher has his or her own classroom. 

The school day finishes early in the afternoon. Most students join different after school activities like sports, game after school. Every student lives a busy but interesting school life. 

Henry is going through a very hard time. His wife just passed away(去世). He feels that life without her is hopeless. For months, Henry sits in his house, doing nothing. 

Henry's neighbor, an old woman named Lisa, sees him from her yard one day. She doesn't see him outside in days! She asks him to come closer to the fence(篱笆) next to her house. 

"Hello, Henry! Just look at this fence. It is falling apart. You are a strong man. Can you help me fix(修补)this fence?" Lisa asks. 

Henry is angry inside. He is the one who needs help right now. He thinks the old lady is being kind of rude. But she is too old to fix the fence herself, so he agrees. 

Henry works on the fence for days. When he finishes, she thanks him. Henry smiles for the first time in months. 

"What a wonderful job! Could you please paint it for me?"Lisa says to him. 

Henry cannot believe she is asking for more help. But because he respects her, he agrees. He works hard painting the fence in the hot sun. As their neighbors pass by, they all tell Henry what a beautiful job he has done!, Henry feels very happy. 

Several days later, Henry feels that life is still hopeful. He finally understands that Lisa isn't being rude. She knows that staying busy can help us forget our sadness. He helped her, but she truly saved him.
