Smartphones have become necessary tools in people's lives. We carry them everywhere, take them to bed and to the bathroom. And for many people, after waking up in the morning, what they see first is their smartphones. 

Most worries about phones usually lie in the danger which is caused by using them while driving, or the bad influence they bring to us, such as making us depend on them too much but hardly care about people around us. 

However, have you ever thought about your smartphone may be a factory full of microbes （细菌） and viruses（病毒）. A survey made in 2019 found that most people（57 percent） in the UK use their phones on the toilet. Another study found three in four Americans（74. 5 percent） use their phones on the toilet. We also eat while using our phones and usually put them down on all kinds of dirty surfaces. All of them can transfer microbes onto our phones. And some of the viruses, like the common cold virus, can live on the phone surfaces for almost a week. 

Researchers have shown that people touch their phone hundreds, if not thousands, of times a day. And although many of us often wash our hands after going to the bathroom, cooking, cleaning or gardening, it is almost impossible for us to consider washing our hands after touching our phones. 

As a result, it's not surprising that studies have found our mobile phones are dirtier than toilet seats. Maybe it's time. to think more about keeping mobile phones clean. 

Most American families like to have a vacation in summer. Summer is a good season for vacation. It is often hot in July and August.

Children do not go to school in those two months. Some people like to stay at home read books，do housework，or watch TV. Many families take their lunch to eat at a place with many trees or a nice lake. Some people have enough time and money to travel（旅 行）to other countries like France, Japan and Australia. They usually fly to these countries. Many families travel by car or train to see interesting plac‐ es in their own countries. Their favorite cities are New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Not everyone likes to go to busy cities. Some families travel to mountains.

Hello! My name is Bill. My school has a library. The library is not big, but it is nice. About 6, 000 books are in it. About 5, 000 of them are in Chinese, and about 1, 000 are in English. 

I like books very much. I go to the library every day. Miss Yang works(工作) in the library. She can always help students find the books.

I quickly try to finish writing one last sentence but Miss Jones sees me. "Ellie Stevenson! The exam is over!"

"Please, Miss...another thirty seconds... five?"

"Humph!" she says and takes my paper. 

There is nothing that I can do now. I hate biology! I dream of being a singer, like Murphy. I want to study music at A level. 

"You can't study music!" said Dad when I told him at the start of the sixth grade, in September last year. "If you want a good career, you need to study science."

"He's right. The sciences are important, Ellie," agreed Skye. "I'm going to study chemistry, biology, physics and math." 

"Boring! Why don't you study French like me?" suggested Cassie. "Mr. Lake, the French teacher, is great!"

I never told anyone about my dream after that. 

Now here I am trying not to fall asleep as Miss Jones finishes collecting the answer papers after the biology exam. I'm really tired. I close my eyes. I only want to rest for a minute. But soon I'm not in the exam room...

I'm on stage in front of thousands of fans. My fans! They are shouting my name... I start to play the guitar and they all cheer... they sing the words to my latest hit...

"Ellie! Ellie!" Miss Jones's angry voice wakes me up. 

"Eh...? Sorry?"

"It's time to go home!" she says, shaking her head. 

I'm the only person left in the room. Everyone else has already gone. 

I was dreaming... again. 

I feel stupid as I pick up my bag and walk towards the exit. 

Outside, it's raining. It's spring but the sky is grey and miserable (令人难受的). It seems like it will rain forever and I haven't got an umbrella.
