A young queen was given a magic box by a wizard(男巫). The box would bring happiness to the whole country whenever it was opened in a place full of the spirit of generosity(慷慨).

    The queen travelled all over the country, looking for the most generous people. If she collected them all, she could open the magic box.

    One day, when the queen returned to her palace，she saw a poor little boy begging. She would like to give the boy some money, but she didn't have any with her. So the boy asked her if she could give him the old box. Then he could sell it for a little money. At first the queen hesitated(犹豫)，because she had been told the box had magical powers. But seeing how poor the boy was, she gave it to him. The boy took the box and opened it.

    Immediately, all the most wonderful things one could imagine started flying out of the box and a voice said, “Why look for it in others? Goodness always starts in yourself. ”

    While enjoying all the wonders of the magic box, the queen learned to set an example for others, and she became the best queen ever in history.

①American teenager Rain Price was waved off (挥手) to school from the bus stop outside his house, by his dad, every day for a whole school year. OK, so that doesn't sound too bad, but this was no ordinary goodbye, because each day Rain's dad did it while wearing a different fancy-dress costume.

②It all started on Rain's first day of high school. Like many proud parents, Rochelle and Dale, Rain's parents, sent him off to school with a big wave. Feeling himself no longer a little kid, Rain found it quite embarrassing. That evening he said how unhappy he was when they waved him off. Then Dale had a great idea.

③The next morning, as Rain stepped on the school bus, he could hear his school friends laughing. He was shocked to find that his dad was waving him off, dressed as an American football player, complete with a ball and helmet. For the rest of the school year, Dale waved goodbye dressed in different costumes. One day he was a king, the next a cook, the following Wonder Woman.

④Amazingly, Dale only spent $50 on all of the costumes. He got most of them from the family fancy-dress collection and then several friends and neighbors were happy to help.

⑤Most of Rain's classmates looked forward to seeing what Dale would be wearing every day. Even Rain finally realized how cool his dad was.

⑥On the last day of school, Dale dressed up as a pirate (海盗) and stood next to a sign which said, "It's been fun waving at the bus. Have a great summer."

Last weekend, my parents and I went snowboarding in a village. Early in the morning, we were standing on the {#blank#}1{#/blank#} of a mountain. "I can't wait {#blank#}2{#/blank#}. See you later at the hotel!" shouted Mom, and she quickly went down the mountain. Dad and I {#blank#}3{#/blank#} carefully for many times before we get started. But when we got to the hotel, we found Mom wasn't there. Dad said {#blank#}4{#/blank#} but took out his phone and called Mom, only to find Mom has hurt her foot and can't walk. 

In the end, Dad and I found Mom at the foot of the hill. She was cold and {#blank#}5{#/blank#} she was in the Arctic（北极）. 

"Sorry, but I know: We must walk before we run, " said Mom. 

①Emma is a lively girl. She applied to join the school's dance club as soon as she started high school. She had heard lots of descriptions about high school clubs and had always been curious and longing to join one.

②As the school's 100th anniversary (周年纪念日) drew near, Emma's club needed to perform at the celebration. Emma was both excited and nervous when she knew she had been chosen to be one of the performers. Emma wasn't used to performing in public. However, her teammates' encouragement gave her hope and her confidence improved .

 ③The day finally came. Emma imagined her dance moves over and over again in her mind when she and the team were waiting backstage. Then, they stepped onto the stage (舞台) one by one. With butterflies in her stomach, Emma began to dance. She was afraid to make mistakes. Suddenly, she stumbled (绊脚) and fell. At that very moment, she breathed heavily and her heart was racing like a frightened rabbit. The audience (观众) saw that in surprise, but they soon cheered Emma on.

 ④With her teammates' help, Emma picked herself up and continued to dance with calm. Then the team went all out for the show, and the audience were impressed by them.

 ⑤When it was all over, the audience showered the performers with cheers and praise. Emma's team even won an award! Emma was thankful for the love and support from her teammates and the audience. She realized that bravely facing fears and rising to challenges are necessary qualities to have. Surely, she will remember the experience forever.

When I was a boy, I used to love walking in the woods around my home. My mom warned me several times1 to travel so far that I would lose sight of the house. Being a naughty  boy, 2 , I soon found myself walking further away, testing just 3 I could go into the woods without getting lost. After4 my way once for two hours, though, I decided that I had better leave a trail (痕迹).

The next day I decided to try it. I walked into the woods5 the house was out of sight. Then I broke a small6 on a young tree to mark the way I walked. I walked further and broke many sticks. In a few places where there were no small sticks, I7 some daisies (雏菊) that were growing. After a while I finally got8 and couldn't walk any further. Then I decided to go back. When I turned around, I easily found my way home, but instead of being proud, I felt9 . I could see the trail of destruction（破坏） I had left in the woods going on and on. Looking at the broken sticks and dead10 , I was ashamed. I promised never to do that again. Instead, I started to cherish my time alone in the woods with nature. I'd sit by the streams and listen to them11 . I'd watch the birds and squirrels. I'd bend down to smell the flowers. And I even buried an acorn(橡树种子) or two12 that one day an Oak might grow.

There is an old saying that goes, "We will be known forever by the trails we leave. " As I have grown older and wiser, I have done my best to never13 a trail of destruction in my life as I did in the woods that day. I have instead tried to leave tracks of14 , kindness and goodness and I have also15 to show others that they can do the same and of course they have succeeded in doing this. May you always leave tracks of joy as you follow your own trail of love.
