Do you love animals? I think you all say "yes". But maybe {#blank#}1{#/blank#} loves them as much as Joel Sartore. Joel is a photographer. He {#blank#}2{#/blank#} travelling the world to take pictures of animals.

Joel is working on a project. He is taking photos in different {#blank#}3{#/blank#} around the world. He hopes his photos can encourage people to {#blank#}4{#/blank#} animals in danger. "My job is to tell their {#blank#}5{#/blank#} stories and I hope the world cares about them in time," he said. Joel calls his project the Photo Ark (影像方舟). He started the project in 2006 in his hometown of Nebraska, the US. And now he's {#blank#}6{#/blank#} working on it. He took his 10,000th {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in 2020. It was a small wildcat in America.

Joel puts each animal on a black or {#blank#}8{#/blank#} background and then takes photos of them. This helps people see their true colors and lets people see a little mouse as {#blank#}9{#/blank#} as a big elephant.

Joel shows his photos around the world and puts {#blank#}10{#/blank#} on the Internet, too. He also asks people to buy his photos, give money to the Photo Ark, and support zoos in their cities.

It was a fine summer afternoon. Sam was going home from school. When he was walking along the road slowly, he was reading a book 1 . He even didn't see a tree and almost knocked onto it. Sam had spent all his money 2 the book. He liked it very much.

When he came to the high road, there was a blind man, holding out his hat. The poor man said, "I haven't 3 anything since yesterday. Please give me some 4 . I want to buy some bread." But Sam had 5 to give this poor man. So, he felt very 6 for him and had to walk on.

Soon after,a fine carriage(马车) 7 up, and in it were Harry and his mother. The blind man still stood there and held out his hat. "Let us give the poor man something," said Harry to his mom.

His mother found some coins in her bag and passed them to him. 8 , Harry did not put them into the man's hat. He threw them into the 9 beside the poor man. 10 could the blind man find them?

11 Sam turned back to look at the fine carriage, he saw Harry throwing the coins into the bush. So he walked back at once and helped 12 the money until he found all the coins.

As the blind man held the 13 , he smiled. It 14 Sam's heart. At that moment, Sam knew that kindness wasn't always about 15 actions; sometimes, it was just a small act of giving a helping hand that could make a difference.

A young man went for a job interview in a big company. The boss found that the young man's college grades were excellent. Then he asked the young man who paid for his education. The young man told the boss that his parents did and they worked as laundry (洗衣店) workers. 

The boss noticed that the young man's hands were smooth and perfect. He asked, "Have you ever helped your parents wash clothes?" "No. My parents always make me study. Besides, they wash clothes faster than I do."

The boss asked the young man to go back home and wash his parents' hands. When he got home, he told his parents that he wanted to wash their hands. His parents felt surprised but happy. Then the young man began to wash their hands slowly. 

He was in tears. He found his parents' hands were so rough (粗糙的) and pale because of washing a lot of clothes in the cold water. There were also many injuries (伤口) in their hands. After washing their parents' hands, the young man quietly washed the rest of the clothes. 

The next morning, the young man went to the company again. The boss noticed the young man's pale hands. He said to the young man, "Welcome to join us!"

On Sunday, Leo and his friends go to the West Hill Farm. It's far from their school, so they go there on {#blank#}1{#/blank#} school bus. They take some food and drinks with them. When they get to the farm, the farmers {#blank#}2{#/blank#} very glad to see them.

 On the farm, they see many kinds of animals like cows, rabbits and chickens. Look {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the rabbits. They are so cute! The girls help the farmers feed the geese and the boys get some water for the farmers. In the afternoon, the students go to play on the hill. Bob {#blank#}4{#/blank#} David fly a kite with their dog. Kate and Lucy sing some songs with Jenny. Leo {#blank#}5{#/blank#} games with Alan near the hill. They all have a happy Sunday.

Steve Jobs (24 Feb. 1955-5 Oct. 2011) was 1 co- founder of Apple Inc., one of 2 companies in the world, and he invented many of the digital products that are part of everyday life for so many people today.

Steve Jobs's life was not without difficulties, however. He 3 soon after his birth and only met his birth mother and sister when he grew up. As a child, Steve was very smart but formal schooling didn't suit him. He went to college for a short time, but dropped out soon because he had no idea 4 he wanted to do. Since Steve dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes, he got a chance 5 a calligraphy class. There he learned about serif and sans- serif typefaces(字体) and how to make typography beautiful. It didn't show 6 practical value at that time, but Steve designed it all into his first Macintosh computer ten years later, making it the first computer 7 beautiful typography.

In 1976, Steve founded Apple Computer Inc. with two friends. They designed a series of user- friendly personal computers and the company became famous in 8 years. However, the sales of its following products were not good. In 1985, Steve was fired from Apple. It was a huge blow to Steve at first. Later, however, the heaviness of being successful was replaced by the 9 of being a beginner again. He 10 one of his most creative stages in his life. During the next five years, Steve started 11 company named Pixar and created the world's first computer- animated feature film," Toy Story". In 1997, Jobs returned to his post as Apple's CEO. Once again, he created Apple's success in the 1990s.

Steve Jobs was a leader who knew how to make teams 12 great results but he also had another side. He became 13 easily and was often impatient. He usually stated his opinions straight and 14 not agree with anything that he didn't think was perfect.

15 Steve wasn't a perfect man, he is recognized by many as the father of the digital revolution. His inventions and creativity have changed our way of life.

 Jason and his father were going to a supermarket by car to pick up some apples. It had been an unusual day. The sky was dark but there were few clouds. As they drove up the street, there started to be a loud sound heard across the ground.

 Jason's father immediately realized that a tornado(龙卷风) was coming. He stopped the car and told Jason to get out immediately. Jason and his father got out of the car and made their way to the closest building. By this time the wind was blowing harder, and it was hard to see or hear. Jason couldn't see his dad anymore. He also realized that he wasn't getting to the building fast enough. He was afraid he would be picked up by the wind and thrown into the air.

 As he made his way towards the building, he noticed a field to his right. He could see an irrigation ditch (灌溉渠). He felt really afraid inside because he'd never been in a tornado before. His heart began to race and he could feel sweat dripping down from his face. In a panic, he started running towards the ditch as fast as he could. He stumbled(绊倒)a bit as he climbed down into it, but soon he was lying flat on the ground, hiding inside. He could hear his heart beating even more loudly and felt his whole body shaking.____

 After a while, the wind died down and the loud roaring sound was gone. Jason slowly lifted his head and nervously looked around. What he saw was a great mess. Jason could hardly recognize the buildings in front of him because of all the damage.

 He stood up and with his legs shaking and walked to the building. Once there, he pushed the door open and went inside. It was a public building owned by the city. It was empty, but Jason could hear noises further inside. He walked into the large room and saw his dad. He ran across the room and gave him a big hug.

"Jason! How are you? I've been so worried about you!" said his father. "I couldn't find you anywhere!"

 Jason breathed a sigh of a relief(松了一口气) and sat down. He did have a story to tell!
