Hi, boys and girls! Can you play {#blank#}1{#/blank#} piano? Can you draw? Can you tell {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(story)? Are you in the swimming club {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the music club? Look at my friends Ben and John! They are both in the school chess club. They go to the club after school {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Tuesdays. They also go there on the weekend. A big brother is very good at{#blank#}5{#/blank#}(play) chess. He always {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(teach) them to play chess. 

I also like chess. This term, I want {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(join) the chess club, too. I think chess can help {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(I) think quickly. But my sister doesn't think so. She likes reading and writing. Her dream(梦想) is to be a great {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(science) one day. She will join the reading and {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(write) club. How about you? What club do you plan(打算) to join?

It is my ninth birthday. Before school, Mom says," We' re going to have a1 this afternoon, Richie. Your 2 and Uncle Jim are going to come. I'm going to make a 3 . Come straight home after school." I'm very happy and I 4 about my party all day.

When I am walking home from school, I see a bag on the ground. I look around(往四周),5 there is no one near. I open the bag. There is some money(钱)6 it. There is also a 7 . It reads," Mrs. Duncan, 15 Aster Road, Selby." 

" I' ll 8 this bag to Aster Road," I think. It is a long way. It needs one 9 to walk there. I ring the doorbell with the card in my hand. An old woman opens the door.

" Mrs. Duncan?" I ask.

" Yes," she says.

" I 10 this ..." 

" My bag!" she says. She looks inside it and says," Thank you! Thank you! Let me give you something to eat and drink." 

I say," I really have to(不得不) go ..." But she pulls me into the house. It's difficult to say 11 to her. She gives me cake and milk. I eat a lot. After half an hour, I say," I have to 12 ." 

When I get home, Uncle Jim and my grandmother are there."13 did you go, Richie?" Mom says." Did you forget(忘记) about 14 party?" 

" No," I say," I…" But before I can 15 any more, Mom says," Sit down and have some cake. Happy Birthday!" 

What can I do?I can't tell Mom that I am full(饱的). I have to eat her cake, too!

Gui Haichao is a university teacher, mainly studying space at Beihang University.  His dream of flying to space has now come true. 

On May 30th morning, the Shenzhou-16 went into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre (酒泉卫星发射基地) in northwest China. 

In 2018, China began to select the astronauts.  Unlike past choices, this time, astronaut s were chosen in three kinds: space pilots, space engineers, and payload specialist (载荷专家).  Gui becomes the first payload specialist to enter space.  During the Shenzhou-16 task, he will manage the payload for space science experiments. 

Gui grew up in a common family in Yunnan Province.  His interest in space began at the age of 17 when he turned on the school radio and heard the news of Yang Liwei's space travel in 2003.

Over the past few years, Gui has been trained to use difficult equipment (设备) and do experiments in space.  However, the training way was a big problem for him.  "I felt very sick after the space training," he said.  "So I added more exercises, learned from other astronauts, and tried some of the training methods used by pilots.  Finally, my physical ability slowly improved. "

As a sports lover, Gui found happiness in training activities.  And because he had the habit of doing sports, he was able to keep up with this difficult training.  His spirit of not being afraid of difficulties in realizing his dream made him successful.  Although he wore glasses, he was able to become an astronaut. 

Last Sunday evening, my parents went out for a walk with my sister. But I studied alone at home because I would have an English test. Suddenly, I saw bright light in my neighbour's kitchen. I thought he was cooking, so I went on studying. 

Soon, there was a terrible smell in the air and I thought something was wrong. I went out and saw fire coming out of my neighbour's kitchen. So I shouted, "Fire! Fire!"But no one heard or came out. 

I ran quickly to my house to call 119, and then I rang my neighbour's doorbell, knocked at the door, but there was no response. I got into the house through the window and found my neighbour sleeping in his bedroom. I woke him up and we rushed(冲) out of the house quickly. 

We tried our best to pour water through the kitchen window, but the fire was too heavy. Luckily, the firemen came and put out the fire quickly. When my parents came back, they found I was dirty and tired. After my neighbour told them the whole(整个的) story, they were happy and said I was a brave boy. 

Hello, I'm Alex, a 13-year-old boy. I1 in No.1 Middle School. My school is large and beautiful. My favourite 2 in the school is the library. Because I love 3 very much.

My classroom is large, too. There is a desk for the teacher and 40 desks for the 4 . Under every desk, there is a 5 . They are all brown. I like this color because it6 nice. Where is my desk? It's at the back of the classroom, near the notice board. I like to sit there because it's 7 for me to see the new notices.

Look! The woman at the front door is Ms. Huang, the maths teacher. Her 8 is next to our classroom. When I can't 9 a difficult problem, I always come to her for help. She is10 kind and helpful.

It was a fine day. There were four {#blank#}1{#/blank#} (friend) at a restaurant. They were waiting for the fifth friend while they {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(drink) and talking. The fifth one was already 20 minutes late. They wanted to know if he would{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(say) "Sorry" for being late. After another five minutes, he {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(slow) arrived. But he didn't say "Sorry"{#blank#}5{#/blank#} he got there. He only said, "Hey! Thanks for waiting." The others said, "You're welcome." They sat down and started to choose {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(they) food. Life went on and all was fine. 

A researcher, called Maja Jovanovic from Canada, told {#blank#}7{#/blank#} story above in a TED talk. Jovanovic said that sometimes we should say "Thank you" but not "Sorry". For example, when you feel sad about something, you talk {#blank#}8{#/blank#}it with a friend. You can say "Thank you for listening",{#blank#}9{#/blank#} not "Sorry for talking too much". Sometimes, "Thank you" can sound {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(good) than "Sorry". What a great way of speaking it is!
