I'm Mrs Green. This summer holiday, I went to London with my husband and our son Sam. We first spent four days visiting some famous places, such as the London Eye and Buckingham Palace. On the fifth day, I was a bit tired and just wanted to stay at the hotel. But Sam didn't want to. He would like to visit the HMS Belfast, a famous warship(战舰)that joined the Second World War(战争). It is on the River Thames as a museum for people to visit now. It is very famous and Sam read about it in a magazine. Well, boys always love these things, so I promised to go with him. 

We took the underground and it took us about twenty minutes to get to the River Thames from our hotel. After walking another ten minutes we finally saw the HMS Belfast. An adult ticket was £ 24. 5 and my husband bought two. Sam was only 13 years old, so his ticket was half price. The HMS Belfast was really large. Sam was interested in everything on it and took lots of photos. He said it was his favourite place on his trip to London. 

①"Long distance never separates close friends."It's easier to make new friends rather than to say goodbye to old ones.

②When I was still studying in China, my school held a singing competition. I entered it because I really loved singing. I sang with a girl named Jenny. She's one of my friends.

③Unluckily, I was nervous so I forgot the lyrics for a moment when we sang. I was standing on stage, looking pale in the face. We lost the competition. I felt terribly sorry, but Jenny tried to comfort me and said,"There will be another chance."

④After about a week, our school's art festival began. I decided to enter it. The first person I thought of to join me was Jenny, although I wasn't sure if she would like to. But while I was asking other people to join me, she said she would join as well. We decided to sing the song See You Again at the festival because I would leave for the UK after I finished the performance. We prepared for it for a long time.

⑤Finally, the day of the festival arrived. As I walked into my class, people started clapping for me. Someone had written "Sally, Come On!" on the board. My classmates made cards for me. After I completed my performance, everyone cheered for me.

⑥It was a really unforgettable and touching afternoon. I want to thank Jenny, who didn't give up on me when I felt down. I want to thank my friends for helping me, and I really want to thank all of my classmates who were with me in my two middle school years.

Talking about Hunan Province, what comes to your mind first? Unquestionably, the answer goes to Hunan dishes, which are called as Xiang dishes. 

Hunan dishes, with a history of more than two thousand years, are famous for its spicy taste. 4. It is one of China's eight schools of dishes. 

Chili peppers (辣椒) are the most important and popular part in Hunan dishes. They were introduced from South America in the late 1690s. Since then, they have won the hearts of Hunan people. 

While Sichuan dishes are famous for its classic " numbing-hot (麻辣)" taste, Hunan dishes are known for being " hot" . Hunan people invented many ways to cook chili peppers. For example, they cut fresh chili peppers into small pieces and mix them with salt, they use these salted chilli to steam (蒸) fish heads. Then it has become a classical dish around the world. 

Some say Hunan people love chili because they can help people get used to the damp (潮湿的) weather. The chili can drive away the dampness in one's body. 

5. 现在辣椒已经成为湖南文化的一部分。It is believed that the chili and the personality (个性) of Hunan people have something in common. Usually described as direct, brave and hard-working, Hunan people are famous for their " hot personalities" . It is clear that they would fall in love with chili. 

Roy is a 12-year-old boy from California, US. He weighs 147 pounds (67kg). But six months ago, he weighed more than 202 pounds (91kg). How did he lose all that weight in only half a year?

"One day, I was surprised to find that I weighed about 200 pounds," Roy says. "I thought I had to do something. " Roy is from a boxing family — his father and two elder brothers are professional boxers. So he decided to start boxing. He began with easy exercise, like sit-ups and push-ups. Then Roy started jogging. "No kids like running," he says. "I don't want to do it, either, but I have no choice but to keep on. "

Months later, Roy joined a boxing club in his city. He is always the first kid at the club to begin exercising, and the last to leave with sweat on his face. Every day he boxes for about three hours. "Roy works very hard," says his  coach, Hector Lopez. "It's surprising to see him lose the pounds so quickly. I've never seen anything like this in my 20 years of coaching. "

Roy is very happy with his weight now. There is a family photo in his room from 18 months ago. "Each time I look at the photo, I laugh at myself. I was so big back then. " Roy says. "I look 100 times thinner and 1,000 times stronger now. "

A little boy invited his mother to attend his school's first teacher-parent meeting. To the little boy's 1 , she said she would go. This 2 be the first time that his classmates and teacher 3 his mother and he felt4 of her appearance. Although she was a beautiful woman, there was a severe scar（疤痕）5 nearly the entire right side of her face. The boy never wanted to 6 why or how she got the scar.

At this point, the little boy came out running toward his mother with tears in his eyes. He held her in his arms and felt a great 19 of the sacrifice（牺牲）that his mother had made for him. He held her hand20 for the rest of the day.

You never know where life will lead you. When I was a young boy, I got 1 up my nose one time. After that I 2 wanted to get in the water again. I thought swimming was not for me. One day, I 3 my skateboard and broke my leg so badly, and the doctors said I could never really skateboard again. They said swimming was the only 4 that would be good for me. Well, I gave it a 5 . Every week, I got a little 6 and hated swimming a little less. I worked at it so much that one day my high school swimming coach asked me to 7 the school team. You can imagine how that made me and my family feel 8 I was so afraid of the water before! Much to everyone's surprise, I won third place in the city finals. 9 is a big part of my life now. You never know which road life will take you down. Look at me — a swimmer! For this reason, I say: don't limit(限制) your 10 . And remember, life is a swimming pool. Jump in and start swimming! You might be surprised at where you end up.
