I like reading. I love many different kinds of books, because they not only open my mind but also   {#blank#}1{#/blank#}(鼓励;激励) me a lot.

Up to now I have read a lot of books, such as magazines, storybooks and  {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(长篇小说). But one of the books that I like best is The Story of My Life. Helen Keller wrote it in 1903. She was a blind and deaf  {#blank#}3{#/blank#}(人). In the book, she wrote that she had not been able to see, hear or speak  {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(自……以来) she was one year and seven months old. This unusual thing made her very sad. Luckily, she  {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(遇见) her good teacher, Miss Sullivan, at the age of seven. Helen was getting  {#blank#}6{#/blank#}(更高兴的) every day. Then, Miss Sullivan helped her learn how to write English words. At first, Miss Sullivan wrote some words on Helen's hands  {#blank#}7{#/blank#}(用……) her own fingers again and again. Helen was a very hard-working girl. She tried as much as possible to   {#blank#}8{#/blank#} (记住) words. After that, she wrote many famous works, which was a huge   {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(成功;成就) for anyone like her.

It shows us an important truth: Nothing is difficult if you put your  {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(心) into it! This is why I like the book best.

Last Sunday, at the breakfast table, my father made a good suggestion. My brother Tom and I were 1 when he told us that we were going to Sal Kung Country Park after breakfast. My mother 2 some sandwiches, eggs, chicken and fish balls. I helped her put 3 into a basket. Then, Tom 4 to put some candy into the basket. But there was not enough space. He quickly put the 5 into his pockets.

At 11 o'clock, we 6 the house and took the bus to Sal Kung. When we got to the country park, some people were already barbecuing (烧烤). Some were sitting 7 the sun and talking. Tom and I wanted to play games. My parents told us to have 8 first. The food was delicious but Tom and I finished eating in 10 minutes 9 we couldn't wait to play.

Later Tom 10 to climb a tree. He asked me to join him, but I had no 11 in it. He climbed and climbed. The tree was tall and strong. When he almost got to the 12 , he looked down and was afraid. He stopped and after some time, he shouted for 13 . I quickly ran to find my father. Soon, some more people 14 under the tree. My father and another man climbed up to save Tom. With their help, Tom came down 15 . It was an exciting day!

Last term, we went to a group of islands for our school trip. It was exciting at first, but by the end of the day, I'd say it was really a 1 journey. 

We got up early and jumped onto the boats. As the boat moved on, I felt the breeze(微风) rushed into my face. The first island we arrived at was called the Island of the Pregnant Maiden. We were allowed into the water 2 about half an hour, and it was fun playing with my classmates. 

All was fine until one of my water shoes 3 into the water. So I had to do the rest of the trip with only one 4 on. 

5 we first walked through the forest, I thought it was a nice walk. But with only one shoe, my foot came across either cold shards(玻璃碎片)or hot stones along the way. My foot 6 badly with every step I took. But then something magical happened-I discovered a seashell the size of my hand! I felt like I had found gold and all the pain was worth it. 

The trip was a precious(宝贵的)experience-the beautiful sea views and the beach treasure hunt were great moments for me. I've learned an important 7 from that day. That is to not focus on the bad memories, 8 instead to remember the cheerful feelings and value them.

Dear Diary, 

The day didn't begin well. We had to present our project about an Australian animal today, but I{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(leave) the project poster on my desk. When I realized I didn't have it, I was halfway to school. I ran home {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(pick ) up the poster and then hurried to school.{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(luck), I got there in time for my {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(one) class, just be- fore the teacher arrived!

Our project presentation was about koalas. I gave the presentation together with David and Jenny. They are my best friends,{#blank#}5{#/blank#} it's easy to work with them. The presentation went well and our classmates really enjoyed it. Everyone loved the koala pictures on the poster! I was in{#blank#}6{#/blank#} great mood, and I didn't even mind that the next lesson was Maths, a subject I'm not good at. 

The weather was really nice, so I ate my lunch outside. My mum always{#blank#}7{#/blank#}(pack)a lunch box for me. Today I had an egg sandwich and a banana. 

The rest of the day flew by. In the afternoon, I had Art. Our class pointed {#blank#}8{#/blank#}(difference) Australian animals on a big wall. It's going to look really cool when it's finished. 

Jenny, David and I wanted to celebrate {#blank#}9{#/blank#}(we) success, so we went to the ice cream shop after school.{#blank#}10{#/blank#} a rocky start, it was the best day ever!
