ANIMAL RIGHTS(权利) OFFICER:

Animal rights officers make sure that people treat animals properly. They visit homes, places where animals are bought and sold, such as zoos, and animal hospitals. They check to make sure that the places are clean, that the animals are getting proper nutrition(营养) and that they have enough s{#blank#}2{#/blank#} to climb around and explore. Sometimes an animal rights officer will appear in court to protect the rights of an animal.

ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER:

To be an animal control officer, you must be in very good health because the job is an active one, i{#blank#}3{#/blank#} getting animals out of dangerous situations. For example, it's not always easy to get a cat down from a tree. Other times, animal control officers must take a s{#blank#}4{#/blank#} animal to the hospital for treatment(治疗). These animals are often in great pain, and are afraid and difficult to control.

ANIMAL DOCTOR:

An animal doctor is called a 'veterinarian' or 'vet'. Some animal doctors work for zoos or animal hospitals. Others, often called 'small animal doctors," treat smaller animals l{#blank#}5{#/blank#} dogs and cats. Many have their own private offices. Vets do most of the s{#blank#}6{#/blank#} things as doctors do. They take the animal's temperature, give injections(注射), and take X—rays. They also decide what kind of medicine a sick animal may need. If an animal w{#blank#}7{#/blank#} too little, the doctor may use a feeding tube(管) to make sure it gets enough nutrition. It takes six to seven years of higher education to become a doctor of veterinary medicine.

Barcelona is home to many great {#blank#}5{#/blank#} . The parks are great places for people to have{#blank#}6{#/blank#}. If you are tired of the noisy streets, you may come to the parks to enjoy being {#blank#}7{#/blank#} and relaxed. Barcelona is always trying hard to make its parks good places for its citizens(市民) {#blank#}8{#/blank#} visitors to enjoy themselves. In fact, the urban(城市的) parks alone in Barcelona take up nearly 10% of the city area.

 Between June 3 and 4, 2024, the Chang'e 6 lunar probe(月球探测器) showed our national flag on the moon. This is the first flag of any country to fly there!

 The flag uses very cool technology (技术). It is made of Xuanwu rock. You can often see this kind of rock on Earth. People often make the rock into floors and roads. The rock for making the flag comes from Hebei. Scientists first crushed (碾碎) the rock. Then, they made it into very thin threads (线), even thinner than your hair! Finally, they put these threads together to make a flag about the size of a piece of A4 paper.

Although the flag is made of rock, it is not heavy. It's just a little heavier than four ping- pong balls. The flag could stay there for over 10,000 years, said Zhou Changyi, one of the scientists who made the flag.

Jane is a 16-year-old high school student in the United States. American Teenager magazine asked her about her {#blank#}1{#/blank#}. Jane has a lot of good habits. She always exercises and she reads books every day. Also, she usually drinks juice and she hardly ever {#blank#}2{#/blank#} late. However, she has some bad habits, too. She always watches TV for {#blank#}3{#/blank#} than two hours a day, and she sometimes eats hamburgers. Her parents are not very happy because she hardly ever helps with housework and she never goes to the {#blank#}4{#/blank#} for teeth cleaning. She says she is {#blank#}5{#/blank#}!
