Last night, Dave met Tina. They {#blank#}1{#/blank#}about their last weekend. For Dave, the {#blank#}2{#/blank#} was very nice. On Saturday, he{#blank#}3{#/blank#}for the history test. On Sunday, he watched a (an) {#blank#}4{#/blank#} TV play. "It was great!" he said. {#blank#}5{#/blank#}Tina's weekend wasn't very good. She was really   tired because she had a {#blank#}6{#/blank#} weekend. She went shopping on Saturday morning and read a book {#blank#}7{#/blank#} music on Saturday afternoon. She visited {#blank#}8{#/blank#} grandmother on Saturday evening. On Sunday, she wrote {#blank#}9{#/blank#} new song for the school music festival. It was a little {#blank#}10{#/blank#}, so she asked her mother for help.

Mr Brown has got a dog.Its name is Ben.

One hot day. Mr Brownreturned home from work and said to himself. "I want to know where the waterjar(水瓶)is. "Then he found the water jarwith clean water. Mr Brown wanted to drink some water. But the dog barked(吠叫).

"Oh. Ben! Pleasebe quiet! I will give you some water, " said Mr Brown. But the dog didn'tstop barking and even jumped up to him." What? Let me drink some waterfirst. Then I will give you something to eat, "said Mr Brown. But the dogstill didn't stop barking. And the dog still jumped up and even broke the jarat last. Mr Brown got very angry(生气的). Butsoon. he found a snake(蛇)in the pieces of the jar. Heknew about the snake. It waspoisonous. It could be very dangerous forhim if he drank the water. Mr Brown thanked the dog a lot.

Hi. I'm Peter! I'm 12 years old. I have a brother. He's 10．His name is John. We have different hobbies（爱好）. I like watching TV very much. I have a small TV in my room. I like watching basketball games on TV. I think they're interesting. And I like carrots and eggs, too. I think they are good for me. John likes playing computer games. He thinks they're fun, but I think they're boring. John doesn't like fruit. He likes French fries（炸薯条 ） and ice-cream. And he likes hamburgers, too. I don't think they're healthy. I don't eat them.

From that day, Monica's life changed for the better. At the age of 23, she became a news reader. People who see 15 on television now will find it hard to believe that she was once a shy girl who refused to speak up in class. So believe in yourself!

The girls spent the rest of the day preparing a play. The sisters often performed plays for their friends. A lot of girls arrived about six o' clock and took their places in the big bedroom. The play was a great success. Everybody enjoyed it very much. The girls were still laughing and clapping when Hannah came in and said," Supper is ready."

A surprise was waiting for them on the dining room table- dishes of ice cream, pink and white, fresh fruit, cakes and real French chocolates. And in the middle of all this delicious food there were four vases of beautiful flowers. The girls couldn't believe their eyes.

" Did the fairies bring the supper?" asked Amy.

" No, Santa Claus brought it," said Beth.

" Mother did it," Meg said.

" No! Aun t March sent it!" cried Jo.

" You are all wrong," said Mrs. March." Old Mr. Laurence sent it."

" The Laurence boy's grandfather!" Said Meg." Why did he do that? We don't know him!"

" Hannah told one of his servants(仆人) the story of the Hummels. Mr. Laurence was sorry to hear about your poor Christmas breakfast, so he decided to give you a surprise."

" My mother says he's very proud," said one of the girls at the table." She says that he doesn't like mixing with his neighbors. His grandson has to stay in the house and study all day. We invited him to a party once, but he didn't come. He's very shy."

"I am going to talk to him one day," said Jo." He needs to have some fun. I am going to invite him to our next play!"

What are school days of junior high like in America? Do American students have the same school life as we do in China? And what do they often do on weekends?

In fact, it takes about six hours a day for American students to study from Monday to Friday. They don't have morning reading. They have four lessons in the morning and three lessons in the afternoon. They don't have lessons in the same classroom. They often go different classrooms to have different lessons. And students often sit around teachers and discuss(讨论) problems with them. They have little homework after school. They often do sports, listen to music or read books.

American students' weekend life is very colourful. On Friday evening, they usually have a party, go to the movies or have a meal at a restaurant. On Saturday, they often help their parents with some housework. On Sunday, they do their homework and stay with their family.
