Cao Chenzhe is a 16-year-old boy. He was known for his1 act because he saved his classmate's life, using Heimlich maneuver.

Cao recalled that he could perform this first aid thanks to a(n)2 education class. He called on all of people to take the learning3 . Every student should learn to protect themselves or others in a scientific way. And someone advised there should be more4 of learning, such as online competitions and role-plays. Here is the way of performing Heimlich maneuver.

First, stand behind the person.

Second, make a fist with one hand.

Third, put your arms5 the person and grasp (抓) your fist with the other hand near the top of the stomach.

Fourth, make a quick and hard movement inward and upward.

Last but not the least, this way isn't suitable for the children under one year old.

China is home to tea and has a long history of tea culture. As time goes by, the tea culture has developed greatly.

In the Tang Dynasty, people not only drank tea, but also ate the tea leaves. That was why tasting tea was called "tea-eating". In the Song Dynasty, the way people drank tea became romantic and was full of art. In the Ming Dynasty, tasting tea returned to its true nature of "drinking tea". People put dry tea leaves in the cup and then poured boiled water into it before drinking. And in the Qing Dynasty, the tea culture finally came into common families. Drinking tea became part of their daily life. At the same time, there were more tea houses.

Nowadays, making tea around a stove (围炉煮茶) has become popular among young people. This is a special way of drinking tea. Many young people like to choose a quiet and comfortable environment to make tea. While boiling tea, there must be delicate and tasty snacks like small oranges and sweet potatoes on the charcoal (炭) stove, satisfying people's eyes and mouth. And beautiful cups and teapots would bring them more pleasure in mind. What they enjoy are art, spiritual world and the deep Chinese tea culture. Away from their busy work and life, they feel calm and peaceful in mind.

In fact, people began to make tea around a stove in ancient times. Traditionally, about the art of making tea, the most important part is the types of tea, water quality, the control of fire, the choices of tea tools, and the skills of brewing (沏茶). In some ways, the art of making tea is a kind of communication between tea and people.

As time passes by, Chinese tea culture continues to develop. Modern tea culture has mixed traditional and modern art and life, showing a more open and colorful culture.

Have you heard of depression(抑郁症)? It's a mental illness. People who have it may feel轮sad all the time or do something to hurt themselves. Now, doctors can put a"happy switch(开关)" in their heads to help them. The "happy switch" is a kind of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI, 脑机接口). It works like a bridge— it connects your brain to a computer. Some BCIs can influence people's brain activities. Some can let people control the computer with their thoughts.

Doctors at Shanghai Ruijin Hospital helped a patient called Wu Xiaotian. Wu, 31, has had depression since he was 15years old.

The doctors did a surgery on Wu. They put two long lines of electrodes(电极) inside his brain. The 16 electrodes are used to let out electricity on different parts of the brain, which can change the patient's feelings. The electrodes are connected to a small "box"—the power source(电源)—inside Wu's body.

Wu can control the"happy switch"remotely via an app on his phone. When feeling down,Wu turns on the switch and the electrodes start working. He is soon cheered up. "It feels like there is power rising from the inside of my body," Wu said.

"The hospital has tested the switch on 26 patients since 2020. Up to now , it has helped cut down a patient's sad feelings by 60 percent," said the hospital.

But is the switch safe enough? Although patients like Wu feel great using it, the implant surgery is actually a dangerous one. Also, doctors have to make sure that patients don't rely on it. Healthy people shouldn't use it, or it may be like a kind of addiction(瘾) for them.

The 19th Asian Games closed successfully on Sunday under the theme ( 主题)" Enduring Memories of Hangzhou" for the closing ceremony (仪式). It was an important meeting that brought 1 from 45 countries and some areas to Hangzhou.

 As a volunteer, my role was to help the competitors in their daily lives and 2 that they had an enjoyable experience during their stay in Hangzhou. And I was so lucky to experience a lot of unforgettable moments 3 . One of them was watching the ceremonies. The 4 shows made all people on and off the field excited. The other one was that I had the 5 to interact (互动) with the competitors from different countries and cultures. 6 we speak different languages, we were able to communicate through smiles, body languages and a shared love for 7 . I learned from them the importance of hard work and the spirit of never giving up to achieve the dreams. The most memorable one was the 8 and kindness of Hangzhou people. When I arrived in the city, the locals tried their best to help me. It made me feel warm just like at home.

 With many people's efforts, Hangzhou Asian Games was a great 9 for China and even for the world. Its spirit will live on and the light of the games will continue to shine 10 in the future.

School PE Club is going to have some sports classes for the new term. Let's have a look. 

I'm Robert and I live in Shanghai now. Last weekend, I went to a village for a vacation with my friends. 

My trip started early in the morning at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. After two hours on the train to Ningbo and more than two hours on the bus, I arrived at the village: Fengpuao. Fengpuao looks so small on the map, but 2, 000 people live there, next to a lake and forests. 

I stayed with my host family (寄宿家庭) for two days. They told me that I could call them Mama and Baba. 

They had a daughter called Eva and she showed me around the garden and told me how to grow vegetables. I also went with Baba to a bamboo forest. Then we went to the lake to go fishing. In the evening, my family and friends came over. We had a big dinner together. 

The next day I woke up with the song of birdsi. After breakfast, we went to work on the farm all day.  It was hard but very interesting. That evening I came back to Shanghai. 

The trip was short, but it made me relax from the busy life. And it was a great time together with my host family.
