I live in Taipa, a community (社区) in Macau (澳门). My house in Taipa is very good. There are two large stores, a bank and a post office in the community. And there are a lot of great restaurants. The Sichuan restaurant is my favourite. I can get a bowl (碗) of noodles with chicken for about ten yuan in that restaurant. There is a park with a small river, gardens and trees near my house. It's very beautiful. I go running in the park every morning.

I wasn't in Macau in 2012. I was in Hong Kong at that time. My apartment (公寓) in Hong Kong was quite small. The apartment was on a busy street. There were many cars on the street. And there was no supermarket near my home. And the people there were very busy. I don't like to live in that place.

I am happy with my new house.

How to Choose books you'll love

Do you have trouble choosing a book to read? With so many choices it can be hard to decide which books are right for you. Here are some tips of choosing the ones you're more likely to enjoy.

Thinking about stories you've enjoyed in the past can give you clues about what genres① you prefer. Maybe you like science fiction, which transports you to completely made-up worlds. Or perhaps you like historical fiction, made-up stories based on true events. Nonfiction is another choice. Think about the topics that interest you or an interest you have and want to know more about. 

Ask forrecommendations②

You can visit the library and ask a librarian to guide you to the shelves that feature the genre you'd like to dive into. Another idea is to ask friends with similar tastes what books they have liked and would recommend. You can also find a list of recommendations from the Internet. 

Search for "readalikes"

If you enjoyed a particular book, you may like others that are similar in style, known as a "readalike." You can look up a writer whose book you liked in the past, and find out whether they have written sequels③ or other books you might enjoy. If you have read through an entire series and are looking for new writers, you can checkout the website www.baidu.com and put in the name of the writer you like, the site's search engine will suggest similar writers to you. 

Take the stress off

You won't love every book you read, and that's OK! No matter how far along you are in the book you are reading, if you don't like it, it's fine to stop reading it. When you take the stress off yourself to finish a book you're not enjoying, you free yourself up to choose another book.

Around the world there are many famous museums where people can enjoy art. Washington DC has the National Gallery of Art; Paris has the Louvre; London has the British Museum for art and Science Museum for technology. Florida International University (FIU) in Miami also shows art for people to see. And it does so without a building, or even a wall for its drawings and paintings. 

FIU has opened a computer art museum in the US. You don't have to visit the university to see the art. You just need a computer linked to a telephone. 

You can call the telephone number of a university computer and connect your own computer to it. All of the art is stored in the school computer. It is computer art, produced electronically(用电子装置) by artists on their own computers. In only a few minutes, your computer can receive and copy all the pictures and drawings. 

Robert Shostak is the director of the new computer museum. He says he started the museum because computer artists had no place to show their works. 

A computer artist could only record his pictures electronically and send the records, or floppy discs(软盘), to others to see on their computers. He could also put his pictures on paper. But to print good pictures on paper, the computer artist needed an expensive laser(激光) printer. 

Robert Shostak says the electronic museum is mostly for art or computer students at schools and universities. Many of the pictures in the museum are made by students. Mr Shostak said the FIU Museum will make computer art more fun for computer artists because more people can see it. He says artists enjoy their work much more if they have an audience. And the great number of home computers in America could mean a huge audience for the electronic museum. 

During the National Day holiday, the sky above Shenzhen was lit up by impressive drone(无人机) light shows. This"cyber fireworks" lit up the night, painting a lively picture of Shenzhen as a"City of Miracles, City of Innovation. City of Future". A total of 10197 DAMODA drones took to the sky at the same time, setting two Guinness World Records. So how does the drone light show work?

 Before a drone light show begins, drones are usually put on the ground one by one and it would take a lot of time to prepare a show with more than ten thousand drones. To shorten the time, the DAMODA drone company thought of a solution. The company put groups of drones into big boxes with specific QR codes on it. By putting the boxes into correct places, thousands of drones can be ready in a short time and they can go back to their"homes" by scanning the OR codes. 

 In drone shows, each drone is programmed by a computer to follow its own flight direction, carefully avoiding the other drones. They communicate with neighbouring drones and use sensors(传感器) to keep a certain distance. The position and LED colours change throughout the performance to show different objects in the night sky. 

 Drone light shows are thought to be more environmentally friendly— and certainly cause less noise and light pollution— than fireworks shows, so lots of big events are turning to them instead of fireworks. Drones can also be reused again and again so they will probably be more popular in the future.
