Mums do a lot of hard work. They cook and clean for us. They also encourage us and give us sup- port. Mother's Day is the time for us to say"Thank you" to our mums. 

In most countries, people celebrate (庆祝) Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May every year. On this day, people like to buy flowers and make special Mother's Day cards for their mums. On the cards, children will write "Thanks, Mum. ""To the best mother in the world. ""Best wishes for Mother's Day. " and so on. When people buy flowers as the present, the pink carnations (康乃馨) will be the first choice (选择). 

Mother's Day is not only about gifts. We can help our mums do the housework. We can also take them to the park or the cinema. Sometimes a hug or saying"I love you, Mum" is the perfect gift for our mums. 

Mother's Day is about love. If you love your mum, why not plan a special Mother's Day for her? I believe she will be very happy if she has a special day!

Now more and more young people from China begin to celebrate Father's Day. Father's Day is usually on the third Sunday of June. fathers usually get presents and cards. On the cards, children often write sweet words such as "Thanks, Father" and "Best wishes for Father's Day". People often get together at home to celebrate this special day. But do you know how Father's Day started?

We should thank Sonora Smart Dodd. She is the first person to have the idea. She wrote letters to the government (政府) in 1909. In her letters, she asked officers(官员) to make Father's Day on June 5th, her father's birthday. Later, the government made it the third Sunday in June. Then people could celebrate the first Father's Day in Washington on June 19th, 1910. After that, people around the world begin to celebrate Father's Day.
