To learn anything faster, just remember FAST!

The F in FAST stands for Forget.

If you want to speed up your brain, forget three things.

Forget what you already know about the subject. Your mind only works when it's open.

Forget about anything that's not urgent (紧急的) and important. If your brain is thinking about four different things, you're not fully present—so you won't learn quickly.

Forget your weakness in learning. Express your thoughts as if your memory isn't good, or you're a slow reader. Your memory isn't fixed (固定的), and it is possible to remember more.

The A in FAST stands for  ▲ .

In school, you learn by being active and creating information. Learning is not just watching and listening. You need to think hard, ask questions and take notes. The more active you are, the more you will learn.

The S in FAST stands for State.

Your state is the condition of your mind and body in that exact moment. All learning depends on your state. Many people don't remember well at school because they are in a state of being bored. So choose to learn with joy, interest, and curiosity (好奇心).

The T in FAST stands for Teach.

If you want to learn better, try teaching it to somebody else.

If you have to give a talk on what you're learning today, you would learn it differently. You would pay closer attention, take more careful notes and ask better questions. When you teach something, you get to learn it twice. If you can't do anything, you can't teach it, and then you can't do it.

When my daughter was in primary school, she brought home four small twigs(细枝) from school to plant. None of them looked very strong and lively. But with hope for the future, I planted them somewhere in our backyard which could give them enough sunlight. Over the years, because of the poor soil(土壤), three of them died. Only one lived at last.

It grew crooked(不直的) and very slowly. In fact, it looked more like a fat bush than a tree. Later, I noticed that it was starting to die. The branches(树枝) were becoming bare. Only the top third of the tree was still green. I did my best to save it by feeding it a lot of fertilizer, but it didn't work.

Later one morning, I went out and looked at it again. I was thinking if it would be better to just cut it down. It would make the yard look cleaner. As I walked over to take a closer look at it, however, I noticed something moving within the leaves. It was a bird patiently building a nest in the topmost branches. I smiled when I looked at it. I thought maybe this old tree was still useful. It might not be healthy or pretty, but it was still giving a bird a home.

This tree let me know that all of our lives have a purpose. It doesn't matter if we are young and strong or old and sickly. Until our last breath, we have things to do, love to give, and joy to share. We can help to make this world a better and more beautiful place.

Born in the 2000s, what do you think of your generation (一代人)? Young, creative, connected, global, smart, maybe good-looking? But what do other people think about your generation?

Some adults worry that you're more interested in the phone than the world around you. They see you as the "face-down generation" and wonder how you will deal with school, friends, and family. Are today's teenagers too busy texting and taking selfies (自拍) to become successful in real life or "IRL", as you would say?

Other adults worry that today's youth are spoiled (被宠坏) and don't want to face the challenges of adult life. Many children born in the 1990s and 2000s were raised by "helicopter parents" who were always there to do everything for them. So today's young people seem to prefer to live like teenagers even when they are in their 20s or 30s.

Does the face-down generation need a heads-up? Well, probably not. The fact is that many of today's teenagers are better educated and more creative than past generations. They also seem to be willing to become leaders. More young people than ever volunteer to serve their communities. There are also brave young people such as Malala Yousafzai, the teenager who won the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize for pushing girls' rights to go to school.

So if you are one of them born in the 2000s, there's reason to be hopeful about the future. Things are looking up for the face-down generation.

A new match-tiles-style game(消除类游戏) called "Yang Le Ge Yang" or "Sheep A Sheep"was popular on WeChat's mini program for several months last year. Developed by Beijing Jianyou Technology, the game had 2. 6 billion views on Weibo under its hashtag(话题标签) and related short videos were viewed widely. 

The game features sheep characters and challenging levels, with only 0. 1% of players able to pass all levels according to the developers. Many users struggle with the second level, which is particularly difficult. The game also provides customization(定制化) choices for players who successfully complete matches by allowing them to change their sheep skins, along with interesting background music. 

By dividing game players into different groups according to their provinces, "Yang Le Ge Yang" creates a strong sense of belonging and encourages players to win and bring honor to their provinces. What's more, game tools are available to those who share the game on social media, which has helped to make it more popular. The game's "Hard Fun" style has made it a hit among players looking for a challenge, and advertising opportunities provide potential income (潜在的收入) for the company behind the game. Users must watch in-app ads to get more powerful tools to overcome difficulties in the matching process. 

However, will "Yang Le Ge Yang" be popular for much longer or will it be replaced and forgotten? Similar, more trendy games are likely to follow soon, as often happens with such small and easy-to-make games.
