When Sally was a child, she went to the city park with her mom on a sunny morning. She felt very unhappy. Her mom saw that and asked why. Sally told her mother that she felt so sorry to see so much rubbish on the ground. 

Her mom looked around. There were pieces of paper, boxes, glass bottles and a lot of other rubbish everywhere. "What can we do?" asked Sally sadly. "I'm sure you will think of something," said her mom. 

As soon as Sally got home with her mom, she painted a picture of the park and wrote a sign in large black letters at the top of the picture. The sign said, "PLEASE KEEP OUR PARK CLEAN". Later, she took plenty of bags and went back to the park with her mom. Sally put up her picture on a big rubbish box. 

The children at the park ran over to see what was going on. Sally handed each of them a bag. "Let's clean up this place," said Sally. Then they began to pick up the rubbish, talking and laughing. Soon, all the bags were full. 

Then Sally's mom led them to put the rubbish into different kinds of rubbish boxes. When they looked at the clean park, they all had a strong feeling of satisfaction. 

From then on, Sally has been keeping doing the cleaning and sorting (分类) rubbish. More and more people joined her to play a part in environment protection.

For most human history, the stars sh one brightly in a dark night sky. But today, with many man- made lights, it is difficult for us to watch some wonderful sights: stars, planets and even galaxies(星系). This is in fact a kind of light pollution.

According to scientific research, you can see about 2,500 stars without using any special tools. But because of light pollution, you can only see 200 to 300 stars from the countryside, and no more than 10 stars from a city. In most big cities, people cannot see stars like they did in their childhood.

The main reasons of more brightness of the night sky are industrialization(工业化) and the growing use of outdoor LEDs, which are much brighter than traditional lighting. It brings a lot of bad results. Scientists find it hard to see the stars and planets. And too much light might make birds lose their ways at night. Some insects(昆虫) often fly towards light and may knock into buildings and lose lives. Sometimes light pollution makes us have sleeping problems.

Small actions, big changes. To stop things from going worse, we should use the right amount(数量) of light, in the right place and at the right time. Using yellow- colored light instead of white light, shining lights down at the ground instead of up into the sky are also helpful. We'd better remind people around us to help cut down light pollution as well.

Hopefully, in the near future, humans can enjoy the beauty of the night sky again and all wildlife will live a peaceful life!

Except Pluto, there 1 eight planets in the solar system now, including Earth. By the distance from the Sun from close 2 far, they are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Pluto used to be known as the 3 planet in our solar system, and the furthest planet from the Sun. Pluto 4 in 1930, and was named by an eleven-year-old girl from England. Pluto is only half as 5 as the United States. This planet takes 248 earth years 6 around the sun. It means we need 6.5 earth days to 7 a day on Pluto. Pluto is about 40 times farther from the Sun than Earth is. Pluto is in an area of space called the Kuiper Belt 8 has thousands of small, icy objects. The temperature on Pluto is 9 low that Earth air would turn into ice soon. The gravity on Pluto is less strong than 10 on Earth. So fat persons may prefer to move there, they would weigh much less on Pluto.

The Grand Canyon is in the northwest part of Arizona, America. The Colorado River, a{#blank#}1{#/blank#}(银灰色的) stream, runs through the canyon. It is really a great 2 {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(奇观).
