Invitations are important. They help us make and {#blank#}1{#/blank#} good relationships.

When people {#blank#}2{#/blank#} an invitation to a dinner or party, they will ask what they can bring. People often take {#blank#}3{#/blank#}, chocolates (巧克力), or a bottle of wine (酒) to say "thank you". People {#blank#}4{#/blank#} take a birthday present to a birthday party. Teenagers and children often {#blank#}5{#/blank#} some candy, cookies or computer games to share with {#blank#}6{#/blank#} friends. Teenagers also take CDs of their favorite kinds of {#blank#}7{#/blank#} with them.

Most people call the host to say "thank you" {#blank#}8{#/blank#} a dinner or birthday party. Some people write a {#blank#}9{#/blank#} thank-you letter or send an e-mail to the host.

When we can't accept an invitation, it is necessary {#blank#}10{#/blank#} why we can't go, for example, we have another invitation at that time or on that day, or that we have {#blank#}11{#/blank#} important appointment (约会) with someone else.

Stamp collecting is becoming a big hobby for young people to remember their trips. Lovers of this hobby enjoy collecting stamps about the places they visit. They usually buy stamps in the local(当地的) post office.

Jenny, a 25-year-old teacher, enjoys collecting stamps. For her, this is a great way to record her trips. Once during a two-day trip to Beijing, she collected over 90 stamps! They're all about beautiful artworks.

Ben, a 12-year-old teenager from Beijing, said collecting stamps helped him learn about the culture and history of a place. He likes to buy different kinds of stamps while travelling. For example, when he went to Xi'an, he bought a special stamp. It has a picture of an old Chinese stone bridge on it."The stamp looks very marvellous. It makes me more interested in Chinese culture,"he said. Then he started to look for more stamps with interesting pictures. Ben also shares them with his friends. It encourages them to visit more places.

"These days, more and more tourists share their stamps online. Stamp collecting is a good way to help people know more about the local culture. It's really educational,"said Gina, a teacher from a school of Tourism Management in Dongguan.

The Country fair (集市) is a common form of trading in China.

In my hometown, Chifeng, there {#blank#}1{#/blank#} fairs early in the morning. They are very popular. Foods, fruits, vegetables, clothes and daily necessities are displayed along both sides {#blank#}2{#/blank#} the road. The fairs are open for just 2 or 3 hours, so people often get {#blank#}3{#/blank#} very early. They are very excited to do this kind of shopping.

In {#blank#}4{#/blank#} last month of the lunar year, the fairs are busier than usual. Goods for the Spring Festival are found there. Families often do the shopping together. They buy delicious food, pictures, duilian and so on. It is the happiest moment for kids. Their parents often buy some fireworks for {#blank#}5{#/blank#}. This is what happiness is about.

We know our planet is getting warmer. The earth needs help. "What can I do?" you may ask and you may think you are just a kid. In fact, everyone can do something to help. What can you do?

{#blank#}1{#/blank#} Don't ask your parents to drive you somewhere when you could easily walk or ride your bike. The car is one of the biggest causes of the pollution. Getting more exercise is good for your body too. 

Recycle paper. Recycling means reusing something old to make new things. Newspapers, magazines, books and white paper can be recycled. Recycling a ton of paper can save seventeen trees. Visiting your town's recycling centre. Learn the rules and start to recycle. 

Reuse things.{#blank#}2{#/blank#} Sell or give away your used things and toys to those who need them. They can use them again instead of buying the new ones. Reuse plastic or glass bottles instead of throwing them away in the waste bin. Reuse the plastic bags when shopping. 

Save water and electricity. Turn off the water when you brush your teeth. Turn off lights, radios, TVs, computers, and other electrical equipment when you leave the room.{#blank#}3{#/blank#} It saves much electricity if you let it "sleep".

{#blank#}4{#/blank#} Don't buy single- use water bottles. Use a glass or plastic container(容器) that can be washed and reused. Use a lunch box or cloth bag instead of paper bags to pack lunch for school or picnics. 

What we do today affects our future generations. Let's take care of the earth!

Last Friday morning, we had a Chinese lesson. Our teacher asked us a question, "Who is the best {#blank#}1{#/blank#} in Chinese history?" Many students said Confucius.

 Confucius was born over 2,000 years ago. His father died (死) when he was only 3 and he had to work to {#blank#}2{#/blank#} his mother. Young Confucius studied very hard. He visited many famous teachers to get {#blank#}3{#/blank#} . When he was thirty, he became a teacher. He taught about 3,000 students, {#blank#}4{#/blank#} Chinese people say he was a great thinker(思想家). And many of his students were great thinkers, {#blank#}5{#/blank#} .

 Now people still {#blank#}6{#/blank#} him and love him after so many years. Why? Because his ideas help {#blank#}7{#/blank#} in our everyday life. His most important ideas are to be kind to others.

 Confucius said young people should be，{#blank#}8{#/blank#} to the old people. Brothers and sisters should love each other. If someone makes mistakes, we should{#blank#}9{#/blank#} them out. The ideas are always famous {#blank#}10{#/blank#} China. People in many other places welcome them too. They think his ideas make the world a better place. We should learn from the great thinker.

 That's really an important lesson!
