Kaitlin Riffel's dream to end poverty（贫困） started when she was visiting her father，who worked for the homeless．

    "I never realized there were people in the world who didn't have a home or food before，"said Kaitlin，who is now sixteen．"I knew there was something I had to do about that．"

    At age eight，she started raising money to build a playground．"It took me two years，"Kaitlin said．"We started small．We wanted to do something to make a difference．"

    In 2014，When Kaitlin was thirteen，she visited Central America，and saw people going hungry and families living in houses made of cardboard．That year，we set Kids on a Mission，which has helped hundreds of people there．

    "The rooms were smaller than my bedroom，but there would be eight people living in each one，"Kaitlin said．"We also got to see the dirty rivers that those people were drinking out of．"

    Providing clean drinking water，food and clothes for people living in poverty is now an important task for Kids on a Mission．"This young lady is changing the hearts of people，and also changing the world，"said the headmaster of Kaitlin's school．

    You may have heard of people who are allergic（过敏）to seafood, smoke or pets. But did you know that some people were allergic to Wi-Fi signals(信号)?

    Rose White, a 44-year-old woman from Britain, first found herself being allergic to Wi-Fi signals in 2015.She had a cough, heart trouble and great pains in her head when she stayed at the places covered with Wi-Fi signals.

    Rose has tried many ways to keep away from Wi-Fi signals. In the past six months, she either slept in her car or in tent which she had put up in the woodland and in the fields. She even tried sleeping in a shed(棚子). Being completely tired, Rose had no choice but to quit her job and moved 370 kilometers away from her home to avoid Wi-Fi signals, but failed. Because of the hard life, she got a stomach problem.

    She is now living in a small house in the rural(乡下的) area in England. There are far fewer Wi-Fi signals. However, the house, which belongs to her friend, will be sold to others, so she has to move again soon.

    Rose is planning to move to a more rural area. She is also planning to buy a camper van(野营车) so that she can drive away from Wi-Fi signals whenever she is feeling uncomfortable. As she can not work to make money, she has to raise money online. She is hoping to raise 15,000 pounds. So far, she has raised over 1,600 pounds. She still has a long way to go.

    Tony Wheeler was born to travel. His father worked for an airline. For the first 16 years of his life, Tony and his family lived in many different countries.

    In the early 1970s, Tony met a young woman named Maureen. They soon married. Before getting jobs, Tony and Maureen wanted to travel. They took a year-long trip from England, through Asia, to Australia. On the trip, they visited places like Iran(伊朗), India, and so on.

    When Tony and Maureen arrived in Australia, people asked many questions about their trip. To answer these questions, Tony wrote a book called Across Asia on the Cheap. The book told people about different countries' weather, customs(风俗)，and places to visit. But unlike other travel books then, Tony Wheeler's book also talked about places most tourists did not go. He also wrote about unusual things to see and do. The book was very popular.

    Tony and Maureen started a company called Lonely Planet… They continued travelling. They wrote books for each place they visited. Today, 800 people work for Lonely Planet. The company has over 650 books. Tony Wheeler, the great traveller, still writes about travels to many places and will bring us more surprises.

Once upon a time there was no tea at all in England. People there used to drink a light beer. No coffer or milk but large glasses of beer stood on the breakfast table!

When tea was first brought to England, an old couple got some as a special treat. But they did not know how it should be used they cooked the leaves in hot water, and spread them on a piece of bacon(熏肉)which they were going to have for dinner. They ate the leaves, and threw the tea away! However, tea is becoming as popular as coffee and milk in England today. 

Tea is the leaf of a plant which grows widely in China, Japan and some other countries. Tea farmers usually grow a great many tea plants on a large piece of land. When the tea leaves are ready to be picked, it is the busiest time for tea farmers in a year. They pull off the leaves and dry them. In their spare time, they pick out the best leaves and get them ready for the market. In China, whenever a visitor comes into a house, he is served with a cup of tea. 

Cai Xuzhe dreamed of flying high when he was young. He was a new face on the Shenzhou-14 team. He spent 12 years as an astronaut（宇航员） getting ready for his first trip to space.

"I am happy and proud but feel more about my duty（责任）," Cai told reporters. Cai and other two team members, Chen Dong and Liu Yang, left the earth on board the Shenzhou-14 spaceship in June of 2022, for a six - month stay in space. They finished the work of building the Tiangong space station.

Cai was born in 1976 in the countryside of Shenzhou City, Hebei Province. He showed interest in planes as a child. When he heard a plane flying past, he ran out and looked at it till it flew away.

Cai went to an Air Force flight college（空军飞行学院）. After finishing college, he began to work at an airport. The airport was in poor condition. However, he studied and trained his flying skills there carefully. InMay 2010, Cai became a Chinese astronaut and underwent（接受） hard training. He did best in his training and finally became a Shenzhou-14 team member. He tried his best to make his dream come true.

On a sunny afternoon, we decided to visit a place where nature' s beauty spread out like a colorful blanket. As we walked through the gates, we couldn't help but notice how the flowers and greenery attracted everyone's {#blank#}1{#/blank#}（注意). The grass was green and the flowers {#blank#}2{#/blank#}(闻) sweet.

The {#blank#}3{#/blank#}（花园）were filled with people. Different activities {#blank#}4{#/blank#}（牵涉） picnicking and playing games under the shade of the trees. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, smiling and laughing politely at each other 's jokes .

One of the highlights of the day was the {#blank#}5{#/blank#}（耐心的）guide. He told us stories about the history of the place and its {#blank#}6{#/blank#}（习俗), making the facts interesting. As we walked {#blank#}7{#/blank#}（沿着）the paths, we found a small board that explained its meaning and the artist who created it. We {#blank#}8{#/blank#}（躺) down on the grass nearby, taking in the fresh air and the beauty as well .

It was more than just a relaxing afternoon ; it was an experience that left us with {#blank#}9{#/blank#}（回忆) that would last a lifetime. And we couldn't help but feel a deeper connection to the {#blank#}10{#/blank#}(传统) of our town .We can also raise money for the homeless.
