One day, a Chinese student 1 Sun Huangqiang went to study English in England. His 2  name was the same as the English word “sun”

    England is a country with 3 weather. It is often cloudy or misty(雾), and it rains very often, so the people there don't get much 4 in the whole year.

    When the Chinese student 5 London, a tall English policeman 6 a long face opened his passport (护照)to check it. The policeman was7 in the Chinese name “sun” in the passport. He thought it was pronounced(发音)just like the English word “sun”, so he said to the Chinese student,'' I see your name is Sun. You are wanted here,” The Chinese student was quite 8. But the policeman began to smile 9 a moment,” Mr Sun, you're bringing sunshine to England, so we don't want you 10 away. ”

Over 2. 300 students and teachers from two middle schools in Guyuan, Ningxia, walked to the Renshanhe Martyrs Cemetery (烈士陵园) on April 1, before Qingming Festival. 

The group started walking at about 430 a. m. They walked 27 kilometers to get to the cemetery. Although it was a little difficult for the students to walk along the mountain roads, no one fell behind (掉队). 

On the trip, the students took red flags and sang songs (歌曲) . When the girls had difficulty climbing up, the boys gave them their hands. The group arrived at the cemetery at about 10 a. m. After a few activities, the students and teachers went back to Guyuan on foot. 

To make sure all the students were safe(安全的), the two schools did many things before the long walk. " We started to let the students take physical exercise a month ago, " one teacher said. " When they did morning exercise and had P. E. classes, they practiced a lot. It was really a challenge for the students to finish the 54—kilometer trip, but everyone tried very hard to make sure they could do it. 

The schools want their students to remember the martyrs. They also want their students to keep their bodies and minds healthy by doing this activity.

I used to be very shy, so I usually just listened to other people's conversations. My teacher Mrs. Smith always encouraged me to communicate with others.

 One day, she told us that our class would put on a play she had written. "I need someone to play the lead role. Does anyone want to try?" she asked. A few excited hands were raised up— mine wasn't one of them. Mrs. Smith walked up to me and said," I think you' re perfect for it."

Me, the lead? Mrs. Smith continued," I was thinking of you for the role when I wrote the play!" Suddenly, I thought it was time to throw away my shyness and show the world who I really was. I looked at Mrs. Smith and said," OK, I'll try."

After five months of practicing, the big day finally arrived. I felt so nervous. My knees shook and my heart beat like I'd just run a mile." It doesn't matter how you do tonight," said Mrs. Smith, as if reading my thoughts." You've already shown yourself how wonderful you are. That's the most important thing for you."

Mrs. Smith was right. When I stepped on the stage(舞台), I showed that I could take chances(机会) and be brave enough to make a big change for myself — a girl with new- found confidence(信心). I thanked Mrs. Smith a lot. She helped me to change by encouraging me to act the lead role of the play. It was a great experience and I'll never forget it.

Shen Xinbai: Living with our classmates is good for us. We can make more friends and do fun things together. We won't watch as much TV as we do at home. 

Chen Rujian: I want to live at school. That would help me in many ways. It would give me a stronger heart. I would also have more chances to decide things by myself. Living at school can help us get ready for future life outside school. 

Xia Mingyuan: It's a good idea to live at school. Students can learn how to take care of themselves. I'd like to learn to wash clothes by myself. 

Gu Xuan: I'd like to live with my parents. When I have problems, I can get help from them, and I'll never be lonely or unhappy. 

Xu Wenjia: If four or six people live in our room, there could be a lot of problems. I can't fall asleep if someone snores. I'd like to stay at home and sleep well. 

"It's over (结束)! Thank goodness!"

School is over and I am tired. I sit in the front of the school bus.
