Not everyone has the chance {#blank#}1{#/blank#}( be ) a detective(侦探). But I got one when I was 13 years old. It happened in 1988.

    One afternoon, I {#blank#}2{#/blank#}( walk ) down the street when I saw my father's new car. I expected{#blank#}3{#/blank#}(meet) my father, but to my surprise, I saw a young woman driving instead. "My father's car {#blank#}4{#/blank#}(steal)" I thought. So I quickly stopped a taxi and got in. I said to the driver, "Please {#blank#}5{#/blank#}(follow) that new car in front." And I told him why.

    The taxi driver had a car phone, and I asked him to call the police. Soon we heard the sound of a police car and its loudspeaker. The police told the woman to stop her car. Our car came to a stop, too. I got out right now and{#blank#}6{#/blank#}(say) to the woman, "It's not your car. It's my father's."

    The woman smiled and said, "Oh. You're Mr. Johnson's younger son, right? I {#blank#}7{#/blank#}see) your photo at your father's office." Before I could say another word, the woman explained that she was my father's new assistant.

    My father asked her to take his computer to the shop to have it repaired. He lent his car. After{#blank#}8{#/blank#}(hear) her words, we called my father and he told us what she said was true. The police and the taxi driver laughed I felt very sorry. It was both the first and last time for me to work as a detective. Don't you think my story funny?

Kuang Heng was born in a poor family. He liked reading books very much. He needed to work at daytime, so he had to read books during night. But he was too poor to buy candles. 

One day, he found his neighbor had candles, but the light couldn't go through his room. So he dug a small hole on the wall so that he could use the light to read books. From that day, he read books every night until the light went out. 

However, he finished reading all his books and there were no books for him to read. Then he went to a rich man's house and worked for him without payment. The rich man asked: "Why don't you want the money?"

Kuang Heng said: "Because I only want to borrow your books." The rich man agreed. Kuang Heng read the books one by one. 

Because he tried to get over difficulties and worked hard, he became a great scholar（学者）at last.

Hangzhou is a good city to live and visit. Many places like the West Lake and Lingyin Temple are very 1 . There are millions of people visiting them every year. But to me, I 2  Xixi Wetland Park. It is about ten kilometres from the West Lake. And it is China's first national wetland 3 . I didn't go there until last year 4  I have worked in Hangzhou for about 7 years. 

Last June, I got ill and had to have a 5  for days at home. The doctor saidI should get close to 6  often. He said the natural world would be better for my 7  than medicine. I listened to him and 8  the park with my husband for the first time. 

Tall trees, green grass and fresh air made me 9 . I forgot my busy work and illness. When I saw fish 10  freely in the river, I felt like I was a fish. My 311  said, "There are many rivers, 12  and marshes(沼泽) in the park. In fact, the waterways are over 100 km 13 . Over 50 kinds of fish and aquatic(水生的) animals are 14  here. This park is home to many animals. "

I'm not sure if the plants, fish and birds like the wetland park, but I 15  it. It really makes me relax. 

Jean Driscoll was born to be a sport player. Though she was born with a problem in her spine (脊 柱 ), it did not stop her. In fact, she has won the wheelchair division(轮椅组) of the Boston Marathon seven times. She has also won medals in shorter races at the Paralympics.

 As a child, Driscoll had to wear crutches ( 拐 杖) to help her walk. However, she enjoyed sports with other kids and taught herself to ride a bike.

At the age of 14, she fell off her bike and hurt her hip(臀部), with the result that she had to use a wheelchair.

 At first, Driscoll was afraid that being in a wheelchair would mean the end of her sports dream. But a friend introduced her to wheelchair soccer, sparking her interest in wheelchair sports. By the time she entered college, she had become a good sport player in various wheelchair sports, including soccer, tennis, basketball, and ice hockey. When she was in college, she was noticed by a basketball coach.

 Encouraged by the coach, she took part in a marathon race and managed to enter the finals, the Boston Marathon. To prepare for it, she started five months of hard training. She trained six days a week. In the gym, Driscoll lifted 200- pound weights, which were almost twice her body weight. Outdoors Driscoll often ran along the road in, her whee1chair for 40 kilometers without a break. She even trained to climb hills by having three people hold on to the back of her chair.

 Today, Jean Driscoll still remains a top sport player. She travels across the country, giving speeches to motivate kids to do their best. Her message to her audiences is clear and powerful:" Dream big and work hard."
