World Music Day is celebrated on June 21st every year. It originated (起源) in France. In 1981, the French Minister of Culture Jack Lang came up with this idea. In 1982, The first World Music Day took place in Paris and since then, it has become an annual (一年一次的) celebration for the whole world's music. On the first World Music Day, people of all ages and backgrounds got together and enjoyed music.

We love World Music Day for many reasons. It provides us with a great chance to learn about different music styles and express our creative ideas freely. We can write about our favorite songs or make art inspired by the music we've been listening to. On World Music Day, we should celebrate all the great things in life. We can talk about world peace, love and so on.

World Music Day is celebrated in many different ways. There are often free concerts and events held on this day. People like listening to different types of music because it can open their mind to new things. Maybe there is an event nearby where people are singing or playing music from their country. You can talk about what you heard and learn something new!

Do you know this place of interest? It is Guqintai (古琴台) in Hubei. It is in memory of (为了纪念) Yu Boya. 

Yu Boya is good at music and he is famous for (因. . . 而出名) playing the qin. But he is always unhappy because he thinks no one can understand his music. On the night of one Mid-Autumn Festival, Yu is playing the qin on a boat. When he finishes playing it, he hears someone's word, "I can feel high mountains and running water in your music. " It comes from a man, Zhong Ziqi. Yu invites him to the boat, and talks about music with him. He is quite surprised at Zhong's deep understanding, and he thinks Zhong is his "zhi yin". When Zhong leaves the world, Yu breaks his qin. Nobody will understand his music, Yu thinks. 

From then on, when people meet a true friend, they say they meet a "zhi yin".
