Have you ever thought how important T-shirts are in your life? I don't mean expensive designer T-shirts, After all, just because you spend a lot of money on a shirt doesn't mean that it looks good. I'm talking about the T-shirts that say something about you, like where you've been, what you like, or what you think. Those are often the T-shirts that we feel the most comfortable in and that we wear again and again. I'm going to tell you about two T-shirts that I really, really love and explain why.

I've been to London twice. The first time I went I saw this shirt in a souvenir(纪念品)shop and my dad bought it for me. I really loved the design and the colors. And it reminds me of something funny that happened. One day we were travelling around the center of London. We almost got lost, but we found our way — thanks to the picture on this T-shirt!

Sometimes I've bought clothes that I've never worn or that I've only worn once or twice. But I've worn(and washed o)this T-shirt hundreds of times. I love music and I love Adele. I haven't seen many of my favorite artists live, but I bought this when I went to Adele's concert two years ago. It was a great concert and this is a great souvenir. And white T- shirts go with anything, not just jeans!

So, those are just two of my favorite T-shirts that tell a story. What about yours?

I've never been to China and I don't know any Chinese, but one of my favorite T-shirts has the Chinese characters on it. One of the reasons that I like it is because I love the bright colors of the characters. And it has sentimental(情感)value. Last year, my brother studied in Beijing and he gave me this when he came home.

An early kind of music from Austria may not seem like music at all, but it is a kind of singing: yodeling. People use their voice to yodel, without using any instruments like violin or piano. At first, Austrian people used yodeling to call each other between mountains* or to call their animals. It was just a loud*sound without words, but it had different meanings, like "It's time for lunch." Or "I'm near here."

Yodeling developed* into songs in the 19th century. There were yodeling groups singing in theatres and music halls in Austria. Later, people tried to write down the songs. A musician called Toby Reiser traveled through Austria, listened to people yodeling and wrote down all he heard. In the 1930s, people around the world got to know yodeling. American country singer Jimmie Rodgers created "blue yodel" songs and made yodeling part of the country music. Today, people can even hear yodeling in rock music, and it is still loved in countries like Britain and America.

The singing of yodeling is special because it repeats* a high-low-high-low sound. Everyone can yodel. Yodeling is not about singing perfectly, but being loud. To try it, you can just find a room and sing "Little-old-lady-WHO!" Begin with "little old lady" in your chest voice*, and then jump up to your head voice to sing "who". You will soon know what it means to "feel the yodel".

Next time you are on a mountain top, try yodeling! It's a wonderful feeling and can bring you a lot of fun!

 阅读下列短文, 从下面每小题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。

Shyness is a kind of fear. People who are shy always worry too much about what people think of them or embarrassing(使尴尬) themselves in some way in front of others. How can we overcome shyness?

1. Have a good posture(姿势)

The way a person holds himself/ herself says a lot about that person. People with sloped(倾斜的) shoulders don't think of themselves as important. So stand up straight, put your shoulders back, keep your head up, and always make eye contact(接触). By practicing good posture, you will feel you have the ability to do things well.

2. Increase your walking speed

You can tell if a person is confident (自信的) by the way he/ she walks. People who walk in a slow way, and look at the ground while they walk usually have no confidence in themselves. However, people who have confidence in themselves walk faster. That is because they have important things to do, friends to meet, places to go, etc. So walk a little faster, keep your head up, and look straight ahead.

3. Do some exercise

Exercise increases your energy levels in the body. That will put you in a more positive(积极的) state of mind. By doing exercise, you will feel sure of yourself. Think about it; it is better to do some exercise than just watching TV all day.

4. Do things that make you feel good about yourself

This can be anything that you really like doing like going to the theater, listening to music, traveling, helping someone out of a problem, etc.

 阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中选出最佳选项。

We made a survey among different age groups on preferred ways of watching TV programs. The following is the analysis (分析)of the survey results. We hope to give suggestions to advertisers based on the findings.

TV viewers of different ages were asked about their primary way of watching TV. The results can be seen in the pie chart, which shows that although live TV is still popular, it is now preferred by just under half of those surveyed. Watching recorded programs (DVR) is the second most popular way (23%), with online streaming (直播) in the third place (17%).

Of the people who choose each of the three main viewing kinds, the graph shows what percentage of these viewing kinds are in each of the seven age groups. To help advertisers look for target(目标)age groups, the report will focus on the data(数据) shown in this graph.

The survey shows that live TV viewers are older in age, so advertising through live TV will be less helpful for products aimed at younger people.

On demand or DVR viewers are more likely to be aged 25-54. This is the best kind for advertisers aiming at a wide age group. But it should be remembered that they are likely to skip advertisements when watching recorded programs. They think it is a waste of time to watch ads.

Online streaming viewers are typically younger in age (under 25). Although they now make up less than a fifth of viewers, the number is likely to rise in the near future.

Generally, it is likely that the data for the three kinds will become almost the same in the near future.
