The name of my best friend is Joyce. She cares about me a lot. She always helps me. I met her in Class 6 and became best friend. She is my true friend because she understands me very well and cares about my every need. I like her very much. I never had any friends like her ever before. She comes to my home and I also go to her home. Our parents respect(尊重) us very much and like our friendship. She is so important to me that I never want to lose her. Whenever I get absent(缺席的) from the class, she helps me do all the left homework and classwork. She is similar to me in many ways. She never argues with me. She is an open-minded girl and never feels bad about my misbehaviour. She is very funny and makes me laugh through her interesting jokes and talks in our spare time. She is very cute and attractive. And she draws everyone's attention by her smile. She always encourages me to do better in class and exams. We are good at sports and academic activities. We manage to share things in difficult times. We always perform better in class tests and main exams. 

Tom Avery is one of the only 41 people ever to have reached both the South and North Poles. He was born in December 1975 and brought up in England, Brazil and France. His passion(强烈爱好) for adventure began when he was just seven years old and first read about the expeditions(探险) of famous explorers.Perhaps this was the start of his plan to put together the ultimate(终极的) joumey —— to the very top of the world, the North Pole, following the route taken by Robert Peary in his 1909 adventure.

Both Peary and Avery set off from Cape Columbia in Canada. Peary had a larger team and in fact had four support groups. Every 160 kilometers, a group would leave plenty of food and then turn back. The team therefore got smaller the further north they travelled. While Avery didn't have as many on his team, they did have food dropped by plane for them at four locations.

Avery's team also had the obvious benefit of modern technology, but Avery doesn't believe this made a big difference. He credits (把……归功于) his team's success to the 16 Inuit dogs that pull the sledges(雪橇)."It wouldn't have been possible without them,"he said."Your speed depends on the dogs and how quickly you can get a sledge through the ice."His team were travelling at the end of winter and this meant that the ice was thinner and could easily break under a person's weight. This was an added danger.

Another difference between both men's journeys was that Peary was far more experienced than Avery and had already been on several trips to the Arctic.

Peary claimed(声称) to have reached the North Pole in 39 days, but some historians argue that this was not possible. Avery's team actually beat this time and became the fastest to get there on foot. Avery says,"We told everyone we could do it and that we wouldn't fail. But it certainly wasn't easy."

Jingwai Mingde Primary School is in Xuanwei, Yunnan. It was made up of five country primary schools in 2008. It has mor than 1, 000 teachers and students now. The country primary school is famous for its special labour lessons. It has a 150-mu farm. The students can help their school get food self-sufficiency(自给自足) by working on the farm. ↵

Each class(from Grade Three to Grade Six) can get a piece of land on the farm. The students can take two labour lessons on the farm with the help of their labour teachers. They love their land very much and spend most of their free time on it. They plant all kinds of vegetables, such as beans, potatoes, tomatoes and carrots. Some even plant apple trees, orange trees and other fruit trees. Their school looks much nicer with green trees and beautiful flowers all year round. 

There is also a zoo in the school. The students can keep chickens, ducks and other farm animals in it. They have learnt a lot by keeping the farm animals. 

"The children have learnt how to do farm work by working on the farm, " said a teacher. "It also helps them learn how to get on well with others and make their school life more colourful. "

In 1942,a boy named Stephen was born in England. He liked discovering things and it was a1 for him to take clocks apart.
