Solutions: A. Tell them that we need to relax after studying for a long time or ask our teacher for help.

C. Put up posters to ask them not to litter. If someone is found dropping litter, punish him badly.

D. We could say politely "Excuse me, could you please put out your cigarette?"

E. Call the bus company and ask for the better service.

    Once, a student complained to his teacher about his unhappy life. The teacher decided to teach him a lesson.

    One day, he asked the student to get some salt and a glass of water.

The student returned with a glass of clean water and a handful of salt. The teacher asked the young man to put the salt into the glass and drink it.

    "How does it taste?" the teacher asked.

    "It tastes bitter (味苦的)," the student replied.

    The teacher didn't say anything else, but asked the young man to get the same amount (数量) of salt and follow the teacher to a nearby lake.

    "Put the salt into the lake," the teacher said. The young man did what the teacher said.

    "Now, taste the water from the lake," the teacher said.

    As the water dropped down the young man's chin, the teacher asked, "How does it taste?"

    "Fresh and a bit sweet," the student said.

    "Do you taste the salt?" the teacher asked.

    "No," the young man shook his head.

    The teacher sat beside the young man and said, "The pain of life is like salt — no more, no less. However, the amount of bitterness you taste depends on the container (容器) you put the pain in." The amount of pain in life stays exactly the same. So when you are in pain, the only thing to do is to open up the mind. Stop being a glass, become a lake.

There are a few ways to test how smart animals are. {#blank#}1{#/blank#} method is to test memory. Scientists in Japan {#blank#}2{#/blank#} a group of college students and a group of five-year-old chimps the numbers one to nine in different places on a computer screen. The test was to see {#blank#}3{#/blank#} the groups could remember the position of the numbers in the correct order. Each time the chimps were {#blank#}4{#/blank#} than the students. Why? Were the chimps special in a way? Did someone assist them? No, but the chimps probably had an important {#blank#}5{#/blank#} They were young. As both humans and animals get older, their memory gets worse.

 Do you want to be a kung fu hero(英雄)? A group of Chinese girls make it. Emei Kung Fu Girls is an all-girls group. They put videos(视频) of their amazing Emei kung fu online. After that, they get so many likes and people really like them.

 Emei kung fu is on the national intangible cultural heritage list(国家级非物质文化遗产名录). These girls put new things like pop music, dance and clothes into Emei kung fu to promote(推广) Emei kung fu.

 The members study so hard every day on Emei Mountain in Sichuan. They have to learn Emei kung fu, horse riding, archery(射箭) and how to do kung fu in front of people. Study makes them better and they love learning them. When asked why they want to keep learning Emei kung fu, Ma Zhaolingyun, a member of the group, says, "We want to bring in something new and special and help people learn more about Emei kung fu."

 What they do can help show Chinese traditional culture(传统文化) in an amazing way. Now, more people are going to Emei Mountain to study kung fu.

There was a big activity in Shenzhen this summer. People had a festival about enjoying lotus flowers(荷花)at Honghu Park. From 15th June, 2024 to 15th July, 2024, visitors went there to enjoy lotus flowers and took part in other activities. 

In fact, there are many lotus flowers in the park every year. When visitors come into the park, they can see lots of lotus flowers. It's just like walking into a sea of pink. In the park, visitors can enjoy different kinds of lotus flowers from different areas , such as Guangdong, Jiangsu and Thailand. 

Most Chinese people like lotus flowers. That's because in China, lotus flowers mean beauty and purity(纯洁). They grow in dirty water, but lotus flowers themselves stay clean. The culture of lotus flowers is also part of Chinese culture. There are many Chinese poems about lotus flowers. 

During the festival, visitors really enjoyed themselves. They could relax for a while from their busy work. The visitors hoped to join in this activity again next year.
